The Transporter (2002) - 38 mistakes
Directed by Corey Yuen, starring François Berléand, Jason Statham, Matt Schulze, Qi Shu, Ric Young (add more)
Revealing: As Frank is about to be shot in the warehouse, he pulls the giant thug in front of him as a body shield. They both fall back through the window and hit the water. As they do, we see the back of Frank's hair, which is something of a shag style. It is far from being Jason Statham, as throughout the film his buzz cut is almost to the point of him being bald.
Factual error: When Frank and the dead thug are underwater, with the bad guys firing at them after the oil-fight, if you look, you can see that the bullets from the guns are shooting straight down through the water. Most modern guns (including the ones the bad guys are using) are so powerful, that the bullets shatter upon hitting water, so the bullets we see whizzing about underwater are not real.
Plot hole: The bad guys trap Frank by dropping oil onto the water he is under and lighting it on fire by shooting it. Just moments earlier, before he jumped into the water, they were shooting at him and hitting the oil on the solid concrete ground around him. Yet it didn't catch on fire then, so it makes no sense that it would catch on fire on the water.
Continuity: In the scene after Frank has escaped from the jail with the inspector, he gets on the boat. While in the jail (and even before that) Frank has been wearing a blue shirt with khaki pants. Once on the boat, we see Frank change his shirt, but he does not change his pants which are now black instead of khaki.
Visible crew/equipment: In the inital chase scene just after the shot where you see the two police vehicles following the BMW into a narrow lane there is a head on shot of the BMW, all throught this shot you can see the side/brake lights of the camera car reflected in the driver's side headlight, and the grill when the BMW is really close.
Factual error: Frank hotwires the S class Mercedes and steals it. First mistake is to believe that you can simply hotwire an S class Mercedes, you can't, because it has a special ignition key that sends a signal to the ECU. No key, no engine start, no matter how many wires you splice. Secondly, exactly when did Frank break the steering lock? After he starts the car, the camera shot then shows him driving off.
Continuity: During the 1st chase when camera is showing how Frank's hand is shifting gears, there's one shot of the bank robber's hand getting hit with the gearstick while Frank is shifting. Next shot shows all bank robbers in the car with visible hands. No one is that quick to move his hands so fast.
Continuity: In the scene when Frank is on the way to the bank, he stops at an intersection. Couple of people cross. On the right side of his car (as on the screen), that part of the lane is empty. Then there is a shot of Frank inside the car and you can see cops in their patrol car next to him, while in previous shot there was nobody there.
