East is East (1999) - 8 mistakes
Continuity: In the scene where Ernest asks Meenor if she would like to play football, Meenor lines up the football then kicks it through Ernest's window which has a poster on it - the ball forms a hole slightly left of the face in the picture. When Ernest's grandad comes to the window and puts his head in the hole, the hole has now changed to the centre of the face.
Factual error: In the scene where the family goes to the phone box to ring Nazir, a coloured intercity train passes behind them. The film is set in 1971 but that type of train was not introduced until the mid 80's. Also, if you look closely at the house in the background, you can see the flashes from the electrified line, which again didn't happen until the mid 80's.
Factual error: For his wedding, Nazir is wearing a veil during the ceremony, and the bride is wearing red. These are characteristics from a Hindu wedding. The Khans are Muslims. Submitted by Andy Benham
