Flashdance (1983) - 20 mistakes

Continuity: When Alex sits down to watch the news, the various items around the TV, magazines on the table, the cushions, cups, items on the couch etc. differ in position during the scene.

Continuity: When Alex walks over to the side with her basket of laundry, as she walks over you can see clothes hanging over the basket side. In the next shot there are no clothes hanging over the side.

Continuity: When Alex is dancing to 'He's a Dream,' the chain for the water disposer appears above her chair between shots, then disappears / reappears during the scene.

Continuity: When Alex enters the committee room, the female judge to the far viewers right has a handbag on the floor beside her desk. During the scene the bag changes position many times, from beside / under the desk, etc.

Continuity: When Alex is dancing in the red dress, in front of the TV, her legs are bare. It cuts to the audience, then cuts back and suddenly blue leggings which stretch down to her knees have appeared.

Continuity: In a wideshot of Alex's TV area, there is a pole next to the couch with the label 'Fire Extinguisher Here' on it. In the next shot as she sits down, it has vanished.

Continuity: When Nick goes over to Alex, Alex is flipping through a Vouge magazine. Between shots the direction that she is flipping the pages immediately changes.

Continuity: In the opening credits, as Alex rides her bike down the hill, the bike helmet strapped to the back of the bike disappears / reappears.

Continuity: After Richie has come back from L.A. in the crocodile costume, he goes over and speaks to Jeanie. As he speaks to her, she puts her coat on twice between shots.

Continuity: When Tina Tech dances to 'Manhunt' she is wearing tall spiked heel boots. Yet in the shot when she does a backflip off of the wall, she is wearing flat black shoes. In the next shot she has the heels on.

Revealing: During Alex's dance at the committee, the dancing doubles are quite clear, evident by the obvious wigs and change in height of legwarmers.

Continuity: When Richie is making the burgers, in a closeup of them sizzling, only one burger has a cheese slice on it. In the next shot two have cheese slices on them.

Continuity: When Jeanie is telling Richie the order, she alternately holds the pad, or it is down on the table. The pencil in her hands disappears in one shot too.

Continuity: When Alex enters the committee room, there is nothing to the side of the female judge's desk. In thte next shot as Alex walks across the room, we see a speaker beside her desk.

Visible crew/equipment: When Alex is riding the tram after her argument with Nick, you can see the cameraman holding a camera, reflected in the back window of the tram.

Continuity: When Alex and Richie are stopped by the two men in the car park, you can see the space in between Nick's car and the other car is empty. Moments later Alex goes over to this space, and now her bike is there.

Continuity: After the audition at the committee, Alex runs down the street, and Nick waits with a boquet of red roses. The street is covered in dead brown leaves. The amount of leaves on the street suddenly changes between shots.

Continuity: While Alex dances to 'Maniac' the black legwarmer on her right leg disappears in some shots. In closeups of her feet it is not visible on her foot, but is then on in the next wideshot, etc.

Continuity: As Alex begins her dance in front of the committee judge's, the male judge with glasses has no cigar in his mouth in a wideshot, but suddenly has one in, in a closeup. He also reaches to take off his glasses twice.

Continuity: After unloading her laundry into her basket, Alex elbows the washing machine door shut, but it bounces back open. In the next shot you can see behind them that it is closed again.
