How can Austin's Father be so young? Don't forget that Austin was frozen for 30 years, so their age gap should be 30 more than normal; but despite that Nigel seems only a few years older than Austin. [It is never stated how old either of them are. Plus, Michael Caine in this movie does not look "only a few years older" than Mike Myers. Lastly, my own dad and I are more than 30 years apart, but you would never guess by looking at us.]

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

In the disco scene when Austin travel back to 1975, original music (never before released) from the soundtrack of the film "Saturday Night Fever" is playing in the background at one point. "Saturday Night Fever" wasn't released until 1977. [After watching this scene several times the song that is playing is actually "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind and Fire. As this song was released in 1975 it is entirely possible that it would be playing in the background.]
Nigel Powers' spy car is a Mini Cooper, a clear reference to Michael Caine's (Nigel) leading role in "The Italian Job" (1969), which features a famous Mini chase. [Or, more likely, it is featured because BMW, parent corporation of Mini, paid a huge sum to feature their new prototype of a Mini convertible in the film.]
At the end, when Fat Bastard says he lost 180 pounds, he is a lot skinnier. But in the first movie, Dr. Evil says he weights a metric ton which is 2204 pounds. When he lost 180 pounds, he would still weigh 2024 and not be that skinny. [It was most likley a exaggeration that Dr. Evil was making. He wouldn't even be able to move if he was that weight.]
After Foxy finishes her song "Goldmember" in 1975, another song is heard in the background. it's "When I Get You Alone." This song was not released until the '90s. [As evidenced by the other anachronistic songs Goldmember "sings", he could have used his time machine to go forward in time and bring back a recording of that particular song.]
When Austin travels to 1975 and he first meets Foxxy but is really talking to Nathan Lane, "she" says the line "About a year ago" you can tell that he has to hurry up and he flubs his line just a tad but quickly recovers. [So what if he flubs his line just a tad? He is just supposed to be pretending to be talking to Austin so Foxxy can't be seen talking to Austin. Exact lip synch is not needed to pretend to talk to someone.]
When Scotty ejects Mr. Roboto from his seat into the tank with sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads, the sharks begin attacking Mr. Roboto. When sharks eat humans there should be a lot of blood in the water. This does not occur in this scene. The water never turns red, it only churns up white. [As Dr.Evil wanted the lasers so that the sharks cold enjoy "A cooked meal", I'm guessing the lasers cooked Roboto instantly, so there would be no blood, just succulent Roboto Juices.]
Near the end of the previous film, Dr Evil says "I am your father". Austin replies "Really?" as though he never knew who his father was. However in this film, he seems to know all about his father and has no trouble remembering many past events. [Austin is an idiot, and he could easily need some 10 seconds to realise that Dr. Evil's 'confession' was completely nonsense.]
Austin travels back to 1975, and fits right in. He was, however, frozen in 1967, and should be just as out of place in the '70's as he was in the '90s. He should have no idea what a "pimp-mobile" is. [I wasn't around in the 1970's either, but I know what a pimp mobile is. No doubt Austin has watched a lot of TV/Films/Starsky&Hutch in the couple of years that he has been defrosted.]
In the scene where Austin first gets to Studio 69, Foxy is wearing gold platform shoes. In the next scene after Goldmember takes Nigel out in the time machine, Austin and Foxy run out the door and Foxy is wearing sneakers. [After Foxy finishes her song, she goes backstage and sometime later comes back into the club to talk to Austin Powers. She certainly had time to switch her shoes.]
The doctor in Dr. Evil's submarine who asks Austin to urinate in the glass and go behind the screen is the same actor from the first one who shows Vanessa the Swedish-made penis enlarger pump. He was working for the government then - has he swapped sides? (This is a different character being played by the same actor, yet because his face is recognizable, it is still a mistake.) [An actor playing two different characters is not a mistake - the two characters merely have a striking resemblance to each other.]
When Fuk Mi's twin is standing next to her she's on the left side of her. Then it shows a cut of Austin. When it cuts back Fuk Mi is introducing Fuk Yu who is standing on her right. They sure switched places fast. [Fook Mi's twin, Fook Yu, was always on Fook Mi's left side the whole time they were standing. They never switched places, even when Fook Yu was being introduced in the shot described.]
In the very beginning when the Tom Cruise Austin is falling from the sky, he is falling upside down but close up shots show him falling feet first. [In the close up shots, it's impossible to tell what angle he is falling at since you cannot see any horizon as a reference. Based on the movement of his body relative to the cloulds, he seems to still be moving head first.]
During the fight scene between Mini Me and Austin, Mini Me is thrown against the mini bar fridge. You can clearly see the glitch in editing when Mini Me replaces the mannequin that hit the ground. [From my DVD, that transition looks completely seamless. Of course you can see that there was a transition from a mannequin to a real person, but there is no glitch in the editing. If there was a glitch, then you should be able to tell the exact frame the transition was done. I looked it over a few dozen times, plus a dozen times frame by frame and it seems to be a perfect transition from the mannequin to the real Mini Me.]
In the scene when Basil tells Foxxy and Austin that Fat Bastard gave a package to Mr. Roboto, Austin's hair is blowing to the right while Foxxy's is blowing to the left. [Any natural wind or movement of the car can cause their hairs to blow in different directions. For example, since Foxxy is sitting on the the right side, wind blows in from the side of the windscreen making her hair blow left. Also since Austin is on the other side of the car, wind blows around the windscreen in the other direction, making his hair blow to the right. They are sitting together in the car, different hair movements does not mean anything and can hardly be called a mistake.]
When Austin and Foxxy are trying to rescue Nigel from the conveyor belt, he is reaching closer to the fire, but when he is talking to Austin and Foxxy he isn't moving at all. [Nigel wasn't on a conveyor belt, he was on a robotic arm which placed him stationary in front of the smelting device that was moving closer and closer to him. Nigel wasn't supposed to be moving when talking to Austin and Foxxy.]
