Casino Royale (1967) - 33 mistakes
starring Deborah Kerr, John Huston, Orson Welles, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, William Holden, Woody Allen (add more)
Visible crew/equipment: When Mimi is escaping from the castle and swinging on the drain pipes, the wire holding the whole lot up is visible.
Continuity: While going quickly around a sharp bend, the milkfloat sheds most of its load. In the next shot, the back is full of milk crates again.
Continuity: There are sheep all around M's car, but in the short closeup of the chauffeur (John Le Mesuier) getting in there are none visible through the windows.
Continuity: There is a scene where Ursula Andress spins in slow motion on her bed, while pink feathers float around her. In the next scene you can see the pink feathers still in her hair. In the next they are pink hearts.
Continuity: There are several differences between the minature model of the hovercraft like thing that Mata is in and the full size model. For example, the full size model has red markings near the antennae and a silver bottom whereas the minature has no markings and a predominantly red bottom.
Continuity: Tremble's chips are next to his glass of champagne. However, when we see a closeup of his first hand (3 of clubs and 3 of hearts) Tremble puts his cards down next to his glass and the chips are not there.
Visible crew/equipment: After Mimi has cut off the magnetic button and launched it away with James' braces there is a shot of the exploding grouse and the wires making it fly are visible.
Continuity: The cupboard in Jimmy Bond's torture chamber contains, among other things, a bowler hat. But when Jimmy opens it, to get his atomic pill, the hat is no longer there.
Continuity: The first shot after the opening credits is of 4 cars converging on a junction - the bottommost and topmost arrive first, then the other 2. The next shot shows them arriving again - in a different order.
Visible crew/equipment: In the shot where the 'Dual Carriageway' sign is seen and the cars drive over the camera, the man driving the milk-float that is meant to be being controlled by radio is visible.
Factual error: When M and his entourage arrive at Bond's estate their cars are surrounded by sheep. They then drive on down a unsurfaced road to Bond's house, past a pride of lions he keeps on the grounds. A series of sweeping overhead shots shows us it is all one huge field, with no fences or the like. Those sheep aren't going to last very long .
Continuity: When we first see the remote-controlled milk float its front number plate is normal. When it starts moving, though, there is a piece of red tape over part of the plate. The red disappears again in subsequent shots.
Continuity: Cooper slips the strap of Miss Moneypenny's nightie down, but then she sits up and the strap is back up.
Other: When James enters M's office, the map on the wall has 2 flags in Canada and 3 across South America. A little later, when Hadley is explaining what they mean, 1 of the Canadian flags and 2 of the S. American ones have vanished.
Plot hole: As they're escaping the Smersh lair, Bond tells Mata to put her finger in the tiger's ear to operate the doors. How does he know this? The only other time he was in that room, the tiger's eyes were pressed to operate the lift.
Factual error: After the grouse shooting scene, there is a map on screen which shows the A230 crossing the England-Scotland border. The A230 is really in Kent.
Continuity: When the bed with Peter Sellers on it starts lowering, from one angle the bed's dropped below the level of the ground around it, but then in a closer shot of Peter Sellers, we can see behind him that it's not moved. The next, wider, shot shows that we should have seen the hole's walls behind him.
Continuity: Forydize is standing right behind Tremble, measuring him for his MI5 clothing. The camera angle changes and now he's standing right in front of Tremble.
Continuity: Cooper takes Moneypenny's AFSD Report and drops it on the floor. In the next shot it is back on the shelf at the head of the bed.
Continuity: Forydize says the Tremble has a 1965 Rolex Oyster Perpetual. Q gives Tremble a replacement that is meant to be the same, but with the radio and TV screen built in - Tremble says that he cannot tell the difference between the new watch and his original. But when a closeup of the new watch is seen, it is not a 1965 Rolex Oyster Perpetual.
Continuity: There is a hat on top of Jimmy Bond's piano. The strings hanging from it change position between shots.
Continuity: After drinking the drugged champagne Tremble collapses the instant he enters the bathroom. But when we see him passed out against the bath he doesn't have his braces and holster on. They're hanging over the side of the bath but there was no time for him to have taken them off.
Continuity: When Jimmy Bond opens the cupboard to get his pills there is a mounted gun on the shelf as well. After picking up the pills he turns around and the gun has vanished.
Continuity: Bond enters the temple and sits. 12 girls come in, they have their hands together and obviously aren't carrying anything. They kneel and are then suddenly waving giant sheets around which have appeared from nowhere.
Continuity: Each time Tremble does his 'Indian beggar' lines, there is a woman in a red dress standing right behind him. She is not there in any other shot.
Continuity: Most of the time that Le Chiffre is playing cards the women gathered around him are in the same position - e.g. the blonde twins are either side of him and the woman in the bright green dress is to his right. However there is one short shot, just before Le Chiffre does his levitating woman magic trick, where they are all in different positions - e.g. the woman in the green dress is now behind him to his left.
Revealing: The Union Flag pinned to the back of the taxi driver's jacket is upside down. Since he is part of the government (he's undercover for the Foreign Office) he shouldn't make such an terrible mistake.
Continuity: Early on the in fight at the casino someone smashes through the mirror above the bar. Later on the mirror can be seen to be intact.
Continuity: After Mimi has been locked in her room, she rushes to the window to escape. In the interior shot, the window has one blind that is just the width of the center pane of glass. In the exterior shot there are 2 blinds which, together, cover all 3 panes.
Continuity: When James gets in the bath, there is a lot of foam behind him and on Buttercup's arms. The camera angle changes and all the foam has gone.
Continuity: When Miss Goodthighs comes in with a champagne bottle Tremble shoots and she says 'missed Mr Bond'. At this moment Tremble has no glasses. A few seconds later he says 'raise your arm' and then shoots at the bottle. He is now wearing glasses.
Revealing: Mata is kidnapped and taken to Casino Royale in a flying saucer, which then releases a small hovercraft to bring her inside the island cave. Once inside the cave, the hovercraft leaves the water and goes up a ramp, at which point a tow cable can be seen pulling the hovercraft up the ramp and onto the landing platform.
