Trivia
The movie ends with a shot of Mrs. Voorhees old wrinkled head on Jason's shrine. Originally her head was supposed to open its eyes, and smile. Steve Miner comments on commentary how he decided to get rid of the idea, as he felt it would make the movie come across as more cheap and hokey than normal. See more...
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) - 37 mistakes
Continuity: When the girl who owned the dog is hit in the bum with a slingshot, she is hit in the right butt cheek, yet she grabs her left butt cheek.
Continuity: When Scott is dancing with the dog, in the shots from inside the cabin, the collar on his shirt is up. But from the shots outside the cabin looking in, his collar is down.
Continuity: When the girl runs to the car to escape Jason, the wipers are in a position different from when the car had been turned off.
Continuity: As their car is towed, the guy hangs up the phone and it remains on the hook. When it cuts the phone is hanging off the hook, as they are running from the phone booth.
Continuity: When Ginny is in the VW, she knocks Jason over with the car door. After, Jason gets up twice.
Continuity: When Terri is walking back to the cabin to get a knife, her pants are untied at the waist. When she reaches the cabin, they are tied with a bow, yet when walks back to Scott, they are untied again.
Revealing: At the end of the film when Ginny and Paul are fighting Jason, his machete hits the shrine where his mother's head is displayed and where Terri's body is strewn. When the machete hits, Terri flinches, even though she is dead.
Visible crew/equipment: As the camera moves in on the shower curtain when Alice is taking a shower, the shadow of the camera is seen on the curtain.
Audio problem: When the band starts to play the guitar solo doesn't match the guitar player's fingers or picking.
Revealing: When Ginny has run out to her VW Bug and is attempting to start it, Jason is supposed to be back in the house just on his way out to get her. But if you look at Ginny sitting in the car, in the lefthand corner of the windshield you can see a reflection of the top of Jason's hood. He was there all the time, crouched down beside the fender just waiting for his cue to pop up.
Visible crew/equipment: When Ginny and Paul walk down the stairs after they found the bed drenched in blood, Pauls walks by the camera and you can see the camera's shadow on his chest. You can tell it's the camera's shadow, because when it cuts Ginny walks the same way and no shadow falls on her chest.
Continuity: When Ginny puts on her red robe and fixes her hair in front of the mirror, some of her fringe is sticking out. When it cuts her hair is hanging down perfectly.
Revealing: When Jason slices Vicky's leg, not only can you see that a piece of her jeans has been pre-cut and simply just falls off revealing her flesh wound, but you can also see the outline of the tube pumping blood under her jeans.
Continuity: When Jason surprises Vicky in the bedroom death scene. Jason pops out of the bed and his bag that he wears on his head is tied up. Then when they cut to Jason lowering his butcher knife, his head bag that he wears is un-tied.
Deliberate "mistake": At the beginning, Alice turns on the tea kettle and it starts whistling less than a half a minute after it's turned on. It'd take alot longer.
Audio problem: In the second shot of the band playing, the band members are singing into their microphones, but no voices are heard.
Continuity: When the two kids are heading for 'Camp Blood' they get to a fence with a sign reading "No trespassing". The boy puts his foot on the right side of the sign pushing the fence down. When it cuts his foot is on the left side of the sign.
Continuity: When Terri is undressing to go skinny-dipping, she changes out of her clothes and her hair is dry. In the very next shot, she is entering the water and her hair is moist and slicked back.
Continuity: As Ginny hits Jason in the shoulder with the machete, in the first shot it catches part of his sack and is embedded diagonally. In the next shot, the blade is clear of the sack and the machete is now perfectly horizontal.
Continuity: In the film Ted is at the bar with Paul and Ginny and Ted is flirting with the waitress behind the bar.The waitress has her wash rag slung over her right shoulder. The scene then cuts to a frontal shot of her and now the dish rag is now slung over her left shoulder.
Continuity: When Jason slits Scott's throat, he slits straight across, yet the wound is diagonal.
Revealing: Just after the scene where Mark is killed, there's a shot of Jason's feet as he opens a screen door and walks across a dusty hardwood floor. As the dolly pulls backward across the floor, you can see the camera's roller marks in the dust.
Continuity: When Ginny promise to Paul that she never will be late again, Paul puts his arm around Ginny over her shoulder. When it cuts his arm is lowered.
Continuity: When Jason takes the spear, he tosses the mask down, on the fifth step up. Later, when Vicky goes upstairs, the mask is on the sixth step up.
Continuity: The photo pinned beside the window changes in appearance and position during shots.
Continuity: When Mark is on the porch, the camera is Jason's point of view and Jason is sneaking up behind Mark. However, then the camera switches to Mark's face and there is no one behind him.
Continuity: When Scott is dancing with Muffin the dog, Muffins little bow is dark blue. But through the window shot, her bow is bright purple.
Plot hole: When Jeff and Sandra sneak off to look at Camp Blood, they come across a dead animal. While they're bent down looking at it and have their backs to the camera, the cop for some reason sneaks up behind them and puts his hand on Jeff's back. The camera angle changes and you see the police car parked just off to the left with its red light flashing. There's no way that Jeff and Sandra would not have seen the police car when they came up on the dead animal. It's almost right in front of them: they would have to be blind and deaf.
Continuity: When Jason enters Ginny's cabin, all that is shown are his feet. After running through rain and mud, he leaves no tracks whatsoever, and his shoes are spotless.
Continuity: When Paul and Ginny leave the bar, there is a faulty, unlit small headlight on the front left of the car. When they get back to camp the light is fixed and working.
Revealing: When Jason is in Ginny's cabin, you can see the mike wire's shadow on the floor when he starts walking towards the cots.
Continuity: After Scott hits Terri in the bum with the slingshot, he holds the slingshot up by his shoulder. In the next shot his arm is down by his side.
Plot hole: When the counselors are dividing up who is going into town to the bar and who is staying, Paul tells them only a limited number can go because there are only two cars. They leave in a little bug-looking car and a pick-up truck. Then, when the girl is freshening up for the guy in the wheelchair, she goes outside to what is presumably her car, searches the front seat, and finds the hair brush she is looking for. I guess technically, there are only 2 cars and 1 "truck" but the truck is the other vehicle that goes into town, so presumably he meant 2 "vehicles" which would be incorrect since a 3rd was obviously left behind.
Continuity: When Ginny shows up at the campgrounds late, as she gets out of her car to go speak with Paul, she pushes the driver-seat sunsheild down. After their talk, she goes back to the car and the sunsheild is up.
Visible crew/equipment: When Terri is back at the cabin looking for a knife, she crouches down giving us a clear view of the mirror. Look closely, you can see a crew member carefully moving in the right side of the mirror.
Revealing: When Alice moves toward her window with the ice pick and the cat jumps in, it's obvious a crew member threw it in.
