Mistake Continuity: When Carl is caddying for the priest during the bad weather, the wind is so strong that it is almost blowing them over but the trees are not moving in the background.

Mistake Other: During the dinner party scene, Carl is going gopher hunting. The shot of him approaching the tree shows it's daylight in the background, when the previous shot showed it very very dark out.

Mistake Continuity: When Al Cvervik is walks into the golf club, the Judge is standing next to the counter, but when Al says, "it looks good on you though," the judge is about three feet away from the counter. Also, a hat appears on the counter from nowhere, because the judge hangs his up, and Al puts his back on the statue.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy visits Ty at his house, Ty offers her a drink. As he leaves the bar area he has the Perrier bottle and bottle opener in his left hand and the glass with lemon in his right. In the next shot, he's shown handing the glass to Lacy with his left hand and the Perrier bottle and opener is now in his right hand.

Mistake Continuity: At the dinner party, when Danny continuously puts butter on Lacey's side plate, in the closeup Lacey's right arm is on the table, but in the following shot she is now holding a glass with just her elbow on the table.

Mistake Continuity: Lesser caddies sneaking around the golf course are seen with the print of their T-shirt in reverse (mirror) image, suggesting a decision by the director (Harold Ramis) to influence the on-screen direction of movement.

Mistake Continuity: When Ty is finished talking with the Judge in the golf club's changing room, Ty walks away, and the Judge is holding his jacket over his left arm/hand, but in the following shot it is now over his right arm/hand.

Mistake Continuity: During the marina scene, Al Czervic's (Rodney Dangerfield) boat appears to have its bow spray water toward the boat rather than normally away from the boat.

Mistake Continuity: At the dinner party, when Ty makes his appearance he walks toward Al Czervick and greets his guests. Watch closely in the background, Lacey is looking in Ty's direction with two guys on her right, but in the following closeup a woman in a red dress has suddenly appeared.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacey is walking towards the fairway where the Judge is, in the first shot look really closely, there is a tennis racket in her right hand, but when she stops next to the kids she has gloves in that hand and the racket is gone.

Mistake Continuity: When Judge Smails is talking to the Scottish greens keeper, in one shot he points his finger at him saying something like, "I'll be looking for a new greens keeper." and then puts his hand down, but in the following shot, he puts his hand down again.

Mistake Continuity: At the dinner party, when Spaulding gulps down some half-finished drinks left on a table, his unknotted bow-tie is hanging on the left side of his neck. He nearly gags on the last drink and quickly exits the room. In the next shot, outside the restaurant, his unknotted bow-tie is hanging on the right side of his neck.

Mistake Continuity: When the Reverend is playing golf in the torrential thunderstorm and Carl the greenskeeper (Bill Murray) is caddying for him, originally, Carl's shirt is filthy when he is first asked to caddy for the Eminence. The next scene the shirt is clean.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: The crew and boom are reflected in the car door when the red convertible pulls up on the green.

Mistake Continuity: As the group gathers for the illegal tournament, Al Czervik takes a call from a phone in his golf bag; Dr. Beeper receives a page, and asks to use the phone (Czervik holds the phone between them). In the midst of this chaos, Lou (the ref) screams to get everyone's attention; when Czervik and Beeper turn to look at him, the phone is completely absent from the shot.

Mistake Continuity: Early in the film, when Ted Knight arrives at the final hole and Rodney calls out "1000 bucks you miss the putt", we initially watch Ted line up the putt and it is only about 2 feet long (shoulder width). The shadow from his head is only a few inches from the hole. After getting flustered by Rodney's bet, Ted again sets up over the ball, and suddenly the putt has doubled in length. More importantly, the sky has changed from mostly sunny to considerably cloudy and the shadow from his head is at least 4 feet from the hole.

Mistake Revealing: During the pool scene, one of the boys loses his shorts, it's obvious he is wearing flesh-coloured underwear.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacey is on the fairway with Judge just about to tee off, she says, "I was getting really tired of having fun all the time", and her arms are crossed, but in the following shot they are no longer crossed.

Mistake Continuity: At the end of the thunder storm scene, when the guy gets struck by lightning, he falls down, and his legs go to the right side. In the following shot, his legs are on the left side facing the camera.

Mistake Revealing: During the opening credits, the gopher is tunneling under the grass and plowing it up as he goes. In one of these shots, the path the gopher will take can be seen before he even gets there. The darker special-effects grass that the underground "gopher" will tear up is obvious.

Mistake Continuity: When Danny is putting his money in the college fund jar, you see the Cheerios box straight, but when it cuts away then cuts back, you see the box moved at an angle.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: During the last sequence at the last green there are shots of the doctor and the judge (particularly the one where the judge pulls out "Billy".) If you look in the bottom left hand of the screen you can see a shadow of a camera, and at times, the head of a crew member.

Mistake Continuity: During Lou's speech after breaking up Noonan's fight, the dart board against the back wall in the caddies' shack switches from a regular darts to whatever game is on the back. The position of the dartboard also moves.

Mistake Continuity: When Judge is finishing off his day on the golf course, just before Czervick says "Bet you thousand bucks you miss that putt," the guy holding the hole's flag is leaning his shoulder on it, but in the following shot he has it outstretched.

Mistake Continuity: When Ty walks into the Judge in the golf club changing room, in the first shot of Ty his head is up while he is fixing his button, but in the following shot he is now fixing his tie.

Mistake Continuity: When Al is pointing out the condos he owns, he has a heart-shaped sweat stain on his shirt. A few moments later, when he bets that the judge will miss the put, the stain is gone.

Mistake Revealing: In the swimming pool scene, Lacey Underall's high dive is not done by actress Cindy Morgan and is obviously done by a stunt double and/or professional diver.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the movie, Chevy Chase puts on a blindfold and reaches for his clubs, but he knocks a couple of them over and they land on the golf course. After he hits the ball we see a shot of him and Danny from across the pond, but the knocked over golf clubs have disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: When the Judge is playing golf and Al Czervik drives a golf ball right into Judge's crotch, when the golf ball hits, the Judge puts both hands to the crotch in agony, but in the following shot only his right hand is on the crotch area.

Mistake Audio problem: When Al Czervik pays the band leader to play something hot, they stop playing slow music and a disco song starts up. The disco song is obviously the original studio recording and not the clubhouse band. The female vocal accompaniments from the recording can be heard, but there were no female vocalists with the clubhouse band.

Mistake Continuity: When Rodney Dangerfield bets the judge $1,000 that he will miss the putt, Lacey's legs switch from being spread to being closed and back again.

Mistake Continuity: At the very beginning, when Danny's mother walks up the stairs, there is a guitar leaning against the stair banister, but a few shots later, the guitar is now leaning on its amplifier on the floor.

Mistake Continuity: At the very beginning, when Danny is talking with his dad, in the close-up just after he says, "30 bucks less tips," his spoon is putting sugar in the cereal, but from the back his spoon is in the sugar bowl. Also, the little glass goes from being in front of the dad's hand to behind his hand, in the following shot.

Mistake Continuity: During the Marina scene, take a close look at the small party on the float. After Al's boat tips it over, the party guests jump and dive into the water willingly instead of looking like they got knocked in.

Mistake Continuity: During the Big Match scene, Al's character is seen sweating profusely, seemingly in an instant.
