Quotes

Obi-Wan Kenobi: If you spent as much time practicing your saber techniques as you did your wit, you'd rival Master Yoda as a swordsman.

Anakin Skywalker: I thought I already did.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Only in your mind, my very young apprentice.

Mistakes

In the fight scene in the arena, after the moving vehicle that Padme and Ani are on gets shot down, she gets into the carriage seat for cover. In the first shot, her hair is hanging down and wispy on the right side. In the next shot, it's nice and combed up. See more...

Entry The first scene in which Obi-Wan and Anakin appear was filmed after principal photography had finished. Ewan McGregor had shaven off his beard, so he had to wear a fake one.
Entry When Anakin is walking around the bar in Coruscant looking for the changeling, he passes Ahmed Best, the voice of Jar Jar Binks, and we also see Anthony Daniels, who plays C3-P0. Katie Lucas (George Lucas' daughter) is also visible.
Entry Nearly every single Clone Trooper is computer generated.
Entry Jett Lucas (the son of George Lucas) appears as a young jedi padawan, and Katie Lucas (George's daughter) appears as a twilek in the Coruscant bar.
Entry Samuel L. Jackson is reported to have "B.M.F." engraved into the handle of his lightsaber. B.M.F. is short for "Bad Mother F***er" and was stitched on the wallet of Jackson's character, Jules, in "Pulp Fiction."
Entry In one of the trivia books about the movie, there is a page where the different beverages sold at Dex's Diner are illustrated. One of the substances is labelled 'Alludium PU-36.' Alludium PU-36 is the 'explosive space modulator' that Marvin the Martian attempted to use to blow up the earth in the Warner Brothers Bugs Bunny cartoon.
Entry The vehicle that Anakin steals for the Coruscant chase scene has deer whistles on it, right behind Anakin and Obi-Wan's heads. For those that don't know what deer whistles are, they are small whistles that mount on the bumper of your car and make a high-pitched noise (too high for human ears but perfect for animals) to scare deer off the highways.
Entry When Anakin tells Padme that he killed all the Tuskin Raiders, (the "I killed them, I killed them all..." speech) it is an almost word for word copy of Ralph Macchio's speech in 1983's "The Outsiders".
Entry When Zam Wessel is killed by Jango Fett, her last words are in Huttese. What she says translates to "Bounty hunter slimeball."
Entry The tower where Dooku meets Sidious at the end of the movie is obviously incomplete (unfinished parts can be seen). It also looks very much like the Emperor's Citadel, briefly seen in the cutscenes of the Tie Fighter computer game (then, completed).
Entry In the original script, Jango Fett appeared in the Geonosian meeting room with Count Dooku and the other leading Separatists (that Obi-Wan is looking down into), but was removed from the final cut because the filmmakers didn't want to immediately give away that Dooku was the villain.
Entry After the fight scene between Obi-Wan and Jango Fett at Kamino, as Jango runs up the walkway into his ship, the door closes from above and knocks Jango in the head as he enters. Deliberately done - a little nod to the Storm trooper in Star Wars. While there's no proof (yet) that all storm troopers are clones (films are the only canon, remember), this seems to suggest that a few years down the line at least some are, and have inherited their "father's" occasional clumsiness. Confirmed in the commentary.
Entry The yellow speeder which Anakin takes to pursue Zam is inspired from the yellow Ford coupé 1932 of American Graffiti, another George Lucas movie.
Entry In Kevin Smith's Clerks, Dante and Randall wonder if "innocent building contractors" were killed when the unfinished second death star was destroyed. On the Clones DVD commentary, George Lucas says something about how they now have an answer.
Entry When Obi-Wan is in the Jedi library, he is looking at one of the busts. It is a bust of Count Dooku - it's mentioned in the secondary literature that he is one of the Lost Twenty, which are represented by the 20 busts in the Archives. These 20 are the only ones who left the Jedi Order.
Entry Amidala seem to buy her suitcases on earth. I've owned the same kind of suitcase set used in the flick. They're from a company called "Atlantic". The only way they've been modified for the film is the funky padding inside. [If I remember right, it's this case she's using].
Entry When Obi-Wan Kenobi meets with Dexter Jettster, and they hug, Obi-Wan was computer generated from the neck down.
Entry In the pursuit scene on Coruscant, when the two speeders are diving, you can see a X-Wing pursued by 3 TIE fighters in the ground's traffic.
Entry When Obi-Wan is getting the tour of the cloning facility he looks up to the ceiling and the camera shot switches to show some equipment moving. It seems like a senseless shot that doesn't fit with the rest of the scene. If you look closely you will notice that the piece of equipment is actually the saucer section of a Star Trek starship, possibly Voyager or the Enterprise -E.
Entry All the Jedi in the background of the shots in the arena battle were filmed one by one. ILM then added them into the background of the main action.
Entry The place where Padmé and Anakin walk on Naboo is the Plaza the Espana of Sevilla in Spain (you can see the same place in Lawrence of Arabia).
Entry According to the DVD commentary, Anakin's shadow on Tatooine (before he leaves the Lars' to find Shmi) was not digitally altered to resemble Darth Vader's helmet. It was pure coincidence.
Entry C-3PO was originally to have made his first appearance still in skeletal form. In post-production, Star Wars creator George Lucas decided to have C-3PO be complete throughout the film.
Entry The Trade Federation's ships are almost the exact same design as E.T.'s in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
Entry The red aiming screen of Zam Wessel's binoculars is the same kind as that seen on the Millenium Falcon when the TIE fighters attack it after the escape from the Death Star in Episode IV.
Entry One of the inside jokes by the ILM crew concerns the cow-like creatures that Anakin rides on Naboo. One can be found in the asteroid field surrounding Geonosis, and one can be seen during the Battle of Geonosis, in the background, running, and on fire.
Entry In the floating pear scene, we see what type of cutlery they used a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. It turns out to have been designed by the great Danish designer Arne Jacobsen, who is famous for his egg-shaped chair. But there may be a reason that Lucas used this cutlery - aside from looking futuristic, it is also the cutlery they use in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Entry Two of the guns used in Attack of Clones, the Coruscant Guard Blaster (actually a BSA .30-06 hunting rifle) and Naboo Guard Blaster (actually a Calico Liberty Carbine) are recycled from the movie Space Truckers.
Entry In the great library of the Jedi Temple, there are statues of great Jedis. Among them you can see George Lucas, Rob Coleman (animation director), John Knoll (visual effects), Pablo Helman (visual effects) and Brian Gernand (chief modelist).
Entry One of the Aurebesh inscriptions is on the Dex's Diner droid waitress. She has a label on her chest saying 'Flo'.
Entry In the bar, the man who offers Obi-Wan "death sticks" is Mouse from the Matrix.
Entry Somewhere in the orbital traffic of Coruscant there is the Orion III shuttle of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Entry Dex's Diner is an homage to American Graffiti where you can see a restaurant like it.
Entry In the scene in Lars' workshop where Anakin is fixing the shifter, Padme enters and they talk. As the scene cuts to Anakin you can clearly see Luke's brown Landspeeder sitting in the background under some junk.
Entry The reason there are four pillars at the Genosian arena is that Lucas was thinking of having R4 tied up as well. He later changed his mind.
Entry The scene where Obi-Wan is fighting off the acklay (the giant praying mantis/lobster-like monster) with a spear was used to pay tribute to a shot from the 1961 Ray Harryhausen classic, Mysterious Island, in which a gigantic crab threatens a spear-wielding human.
Entry One of the droids in the arena battle has 1138 written on his back.
