Trivia

For people who didn't figure it out; the woman at the airport who talks to Janie and Jake about how they stole their speeches from "She's All That" and "Pretty in Pink" is played by Molly Ringwald, a teen movie icon in the 80's, who starred in "Sixteen Candles", "Pretty in Pink", and "The Breakfast Club". Mistake Continuity: In the beginning scene where Janey pulls out her vibrator, the red slider button is all the way to the top. Then seconds later she is seen turning the vibrator on by sliding the switch upwards, where it already was.

Mistake Continuity: When all the people are standing around Janey in bed and her dog pulls her carpet away you can see a person standing by the end of the bed with a yellow balloon. When it cuts the balloon is gone.

Mistake Continuity: In the beginning right before the tour guide says, "Let's move it people," you can see a guy in a white outfit and a guy in a blue shirt and a hat just over the tour guide's left shoulder. The scene cuts when he turns and the two have disappeared.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Priscilla tells Jake that she broke up with him for the weird guy with the floating plastic bag, you can see a string that is suspending the plastic bag in the air.

Mistake Continuity: When Janey is messing with the paint you can see paint on her glasses that immediately disappears.

Mistake Continuity: When Janey is painting she gets paint on her blue shirt. When the guys are picking a candidate and she comes up the stairs there is no paint on her shirt.

Mistake Continuity: When Janey is called to the Principal's office she is covered with paint (on her face, neck, etc.). When she shows up she has no paint on her. She could have washed it off, but it still would have left a stain.

Mistake Continuity: When Janey is lying on the couch talking with her father, you see him getting up. He's got the Ace of Spades attached to his helmet. At first the card is straight, then it is flipped on the side, and then again it is back to being straight.

Mistake Other: In one scene, Janey's brother Cody is being picked on by a group of guys, and Janey is trying to get rid of them. When Jake breaks up the group, Cody throws a punch and accidentally hits Jake. If you watch closely in the next shot, Cody makes the mistake of looking directly into the camera for about a half-second. This is also pointed out by the director on the DVD commentaries.

Mistake Continuity: When Jake goes to ask his sister for a favor, she takes off her robe and hops on the bed, spinning clockwise. In the next shot she is in mid-air, but there is no twist to it - she hops onto the bed straight.

Mistake Continuity: When the guy get up and shouts "Janey's got a gun." there is no one behind him. When it cuts there are suddenly two people painting behind him.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Jake sings "Janey's got a gun," the people in the crowd behind her scatter. One girl (in a tan coat) is carrying her painting. In the close-up shot the painting has fallen from one of the clips holding it, but in the wide-angle shot the painting is on securely. There is also a girl in blue jeans and a blue sweater and purple shirt sitting to Janey's right. She runs past Janey off the screen. In the next shot (a wide angle) the girl is seen again running behind Janey. Just watching it I think the same could be said about the other people in the class as well.

Mistake Continuity: At the end of Jake singing "Janey's got a gun," he has the microphone angled away from the microphone stand. The shot changes to the guards giving Janey a taser. When it comes back to Jake, the microphone is angled back toward the microphone stand.

Mistake Continuity: When Mitch takes up the letter he is going give Amanda, his buddy is holding onto the car seat. When it cuts, he isn't holding the seat, he is just resting his arm on it.

Mistake Revealing: When Janey falls through the stairs you can tell that it is a stunt double because she's really buff, unlike Chyler Leigh.

Mistake Revealing: In the scene when Janey falls through the steps, you can see that the double pulls herself into a small room at the bottom of the hole to keep her from getting hit by the falling items which are the second part of the falling joke.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Jake walks into the cafeteria and Austin makes fun of him ("he has a thing for butt ugly girls") there are a stack of wrapped sandwiches on sliced bread in front of the fat guy. A moment later, they are unwrapped sandwiches on hoagie buns.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Jake asks Janey to the prom, Ricky puts his fist to his mouth after she says she will go with Jake. It cuts to a shot where he has nothing in front of his mouth.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the football game against the North Compton Wildcats, the team runs out on the field. It cuts to a scene of Jake waving at Janey and in the background the team is going through some drills. It then cuts to another shot of the team running onto the field.

Mistake Continuity: When the rugby players crash into the table we get a replay of the incident from a different angle. However all the players are falling in a different way.
