Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D (1982) - 93 mistakes

Continuity: When Chris knocks Jason out with the shovel, the position of unconscious Jason's legs changes between shots.

Continuity: When Debbie is killed in the hammock, in all shots of her, the quilt covering the hammock net has patterns sown on it, such as flowers. However, in the closeup of Debbie as the knife comes through her chest, the quilt covering the hammock is the same one as before, however you can now see it is suddenly the other side of the quilt.

Plot hole: Jason somehow manages to get the two halves of Andy's dead body on the wooden ceiling rafter, with no blood dripping onto the hammock and staining it, or getting none onto the floor. Debbie then gets into the hammock, and about a minute later, blood starts dripping - for no apparent reason. Why?

Continuity: When the camera pans past the window, to the door, showing Chris walking up to the cabin, there is no painting hanging next to the door. When she gets in and talks with Rick, there is a long painting hanging the the right of the door.

Visible crew/equipment: When Loco, Fox and Ali stand by the van before they steal the gas, the long black boom pole is clearly reflected in the back window of the van.

Revealing: When the snake leaps out of the cage, you can see a dodgy looking fake snake attached to a wire spring.

Continuity: When Chris stabs Jason's hand, she stabs his right hand. In the shot of Jason coming downstairs, after Chris has jumped from the window, his left hand is all cut and bloodied for this shot.

Continuity: When Harold finds the rabbit in his store, it is in a crate of vegetables. Between shots, the vegetables which are in all of the crates change; for example some of the broccoli stems turn into lettuces in the next shot.

Visible crew/equipment: After Vera says "uh-oh," as her and Shelley sit in the car outside the grocery store, the camera pans around to the side window. You can see a hooded cameraman reflected in the small triangular window, as the camera pans.

Continuity: When Chris runs into the bedroom away from Jason, there is a long decorative picture hanging to the left of the window, and between shots a long piece of brown string, hanging down the painting, alternatively appears/disappears.

Visible crew/equipment: When the camera pans past the door, as Chris walks to the cabin, the camera is reflected in the glass windows of the door.

Continuity: When Shelly throws his wallet to Vera, he has a silver band around his left arm. Then when he says "Excuse me, but I believe that's my wallet", it has disappeared.

Continuity: When Chris comes out from the green door waving a knife at Jason, the green door closes all the way behind her. It cuts to Jason and then back to to Chris, and behind her in the background the green door is now wide open.

Continuity: When Chris shows Debbie the hammock, between shots the way the net hangs and the position of the net changes.

Continuity: When Chris first enters the cabin and talks with Rick, and also in later scenes throughout the movie, the hat hanging on the pegboard beside the cabin door changes position a few times between shots.

Continuity: When Harold is on the toilet, the toilet roll sits on the centre of the shelf behind him. Moments later when he looking around, it is right by the edge of the shelf.

Revealing: During the opening sequence involving Harold and the clothesline, there is a foreign object on the lens of the camera - noticeable in the bottom left corner in several shots.

Continuity: When Chris is put in the police car at the end of the film, the car window rolls itself up higher between shots.

Visible crew/equipment: When Jason crushes Rick’s head, it is clear the head is made from wood and the fake head is resting on metal shoulder frame.

Continuity: Right before Chris stops the van to avoid hitting Abel you can see that none of the others are in the back of the van.

Continuity: When Harold feeds the fish, in wideshots there is a note next to the fishbowl which reads "Say Hi to..." However in the closeups of the fishbowl, the note has gone, and should be visible.

Continuity: After Edna yells through the window at Harold for knocking down the clothesline pole, she slams the window shut and the end of the curtain gets trapped under the window. Then the scene cuts to show Edna from the inside, and look at the curtains from this shot. They are now hanging straight down, just like it should be and aren't trapped.

Continuity: When Shelly screeches out onto the road, after the windows on the car are smashes by Ali, you can see a large 'Olympia' lorry parked perfectly straight, outside a garage. Then between shots when Shelly goes speeding towards the gang's motorbikes, the lorry is suddenly parked at an angle, now sticking right out into the road.

Continuity: When Rick is about to go for a drive in his car, and Chris is begging to come, we see Rick is holding just keys and that Chris's hands are empty. It cuts to the POV of Jason watching them from the stable, and Rick hasn't moved or picked anything up. It then cuts back to a closer view of them again, and now Rick has a golden coloured coat in his hand.

Visible crew/equipment: When Shelly and Vera are getting ready to leave the store we see Shelly start the car and you can see the microphone in the windshield of the car.

Continuity: When Chris and Rick get stuck in the woods, Rick puts a coat on Chris. In a wide shot Chris pulls the sleeves of the coat up and then starts adjusting the shoulders of the coat. It cuts to a closeup and she is now rolling the sleeve up again, and then adjusts the shoulders again too.

Revealing: When Debbie is in her hammock, she looks up to see Andy who is dead. However you can see his hand moving.

Continuity: When Shelly and Vera get into the car after their run-in with the biker gang, you can see the area around where the windshield wipers are attached to the bonnet is all perfectly painted. However after Shelly reverses into the motorbikes, it cuts to Shelly and now there are large areas of rust around the wipers.

Continuity: When Chris spots the axe in the stable at the end of the film, it goes from laying on the hay, to on a metal object between shots.

Continuity: When Jason is chasing Chris, Chris runs into a bedroom and onto a bed, and then grabs a chair to smash a window, and the chair flies out the window. However, when Chris falls out the window we see the chair again, however the chair is a totally different chair, as the spindles on the legs of the chair have totally changed, and the back to the chair is different.

Visible crew/equipment: When Jason crushes Rick's head you see the wire pulling his eyeball out.

Continuity: When they arrive at the lake and get out of the van, the long shot from the passengers' side shows Chris getting out and slamming her door, but then the next shot from the driver's side shows her getting out and slamming the door again.

Continuity: Jason approaches Loco with a pitchfork with five prongs, but the pitchfork that enters Loco's stomach has only four prongs.

Other: When Chris is trying to escape out of one of the first floor windows, the shots you see from outside are of a stunt double with really bad frizzy hair.

Continuity: When Debbie is in the shower, as the camera pans towards the shower, you can see the towel hanging up and her bathrobe hanging over the towel. However when Debbie pulls the shower curtain back, the towel is now hanging over the bathrobe.

Continuity: When the kids stop for the police cars who rush by we get to look out the back window of the car. You can see a car and a road sign there. These two wasn't there when they pulled over.

Continuity: When Chili walks into the kitchen while Chuck makes popcorn, the pan goes from on the stove to on the table between shots.

Continuity: When Jason swings the machete to kill Andy, he swings vertically, which would have cut him between the legs down to his head, as he was walking on his hands. Later when Andy is shown, he is cut horizontally at the waist.

Continuity: When Shelley runs and stops Vera in the car, to ask if he can go with her to the store, the car is in sunlight. In the next closeup, as she drives off, it is in complete shade.

Continuity: When Rick is hoisting up the hay into the barn, and talking to Chris, he hoists up a block of hay with Chris standing on it. When Chris says "Were you talking to me?" she hangs to the left of the rope. In the next shot she hangs to the right.

Continuity: When Chris pushes the crooked painting straight, there is a lamp in front of it. In the next shot the lamp is to the left of it.

Continuity: When Chris enters the cabin, Rick grabs her, and the cabin door swings to an angle so it's half shut. In the next shot of Rick it's open wide.

Continuity: When the kids get out of the van and run over to Abel, who is laying in the road, you can see Chuck and Andy standing next to see other (you can see their legs.) In the very next shot, Vera is standing in between them.

Continuity: When Edna keeps looking out the window, to see Jason take the clothes from her clothes line, the curtains keep changing position, and from shots outside the left curtain isn't visible but from inside, it covers a portion of the window.

Visible crew/equipment: When the kids first arrive at the camp, as the camera pans as the van pulls up you can see a little bit of a white screen, a small bit of the camera and the top of a crewmember. It's clearer in the blue strip of the van.

Continuity: When Chuck makes the popcorn the amount of popcorn in the pan and around the stove differs.

Continuity: When Chris is in the sitting room, Rick's body is thrown through the window. When Rick lands on the floor a shard of glass slides down and lies on his cheek. In the next shot it's gone.

Continuity: Chris puts her lantern down on a table in the sitting room, before going upstairs and finding the flooded bathroom. Later when Rick's body is thrown through the window, the lantern has vanished.

Continuity: During the scene in the car outside the grocery store, the number and position of tyres on the metal tire rack standing near the beer lorry changes.

Continuity: When Fox looks up the ladder, we see the edges around the ladder hole, and the floor is covered in hay. Moments later, when Loco looks for her, he climbs up the ladder, and there’s no hay around the hole.

Continuity: When Jason moves to spear Loco with the pitchfork, the prongs are curved down. But when it goes through him, the prongs are suddenly pointing upward.

Continuity: When Ali pulls up his chain before he smashes the front shield of the car a piece of the chain is hanging down. When it cuts the chain is perfectly rolled up. Then later when he is about the break the side window it happens again.

Continuity: At the barn when Chris is being dragged up by Rick and Rick says, "You agree, I agree." you can see his hands gathered while holding the rope. When it cuts his right hands have moved further up the rope.

Continuity: When Fox says, "You mean, may I please have the wallet." to Vera, she is holding the wallet. In the next shot you can see the wallet is rotated.

Continuity: When Harold is at the toilet you can see a shelf behind him with a fire extinguisher and a piece of cloth on it. Also the shelf is by his waist level. A moment later the extinguisher has changed, the piece of cloth is gone, the shelf is by his shoulder level and a clock has suddenly appeared on the wall. It is obvious this is a change of stage scenery.

Continuity: When Fox takes the wallet in the store and talks with Vera, between consecutive shots her necklace changes position.

Continuity: Harold puts the fishfood bottle down on the counter with no lid on it. However when he's eating the doughnut you can see the fishfood bottle is now on the till, with it's lid on.

Continuity: After getting out of the shower, Debbie still has her silver necklace on. She leaves the bathroom and the necklace has disappeared.

Continuity: When Ali is looking for Loco and Fox, Loco then rolls off the rafters onto Ali. In this shot you can see no blade leaning against the stable. Then when Jason jumps down, Ali grabs a blade that has appeared.

Revealing: When Harold is stabbed with the butchers knife, you can see the bulge and outline of protective padding under his shirt.

Continuity: When Harold is stabbed with the butchers knife, blood runs all down his shirt. Then when it cuts to a closer view, blood is just around the knife.

Visible crew/equipment: When they get into the car you can see two of the film crew members moving reflected in the car window.

Audio problem: Jason picks up a red hot poker from the fireplace and it sizzles. Fire pokers only sizzle if they touch something.

Continuity: When Vera is sitting by the dock, Shelly grabs her foot from underwater. In one shot, her shoe clearly comes off, then moments later is back on perfectly.

Revealing: When Debbie is in the shower and we see a shot of her through the shower curtain, you can see she is wearing white underwear.

Deliberate "mistake": After Chris gets stuck on the bridge and is trying to restart the van, a shot out the back window shows Jason running towards the van. He is badly limping and holding his knee because Chris just stabbed him in the knee. In the next scene, when Jason is chasing Chris away from the van, and for the remainder of the movie, Jason no longer limps. He walks and runs normally.

Continuity: When Andy is cut in half by Jason, blood spurts everywhere. However when Debbie gets out of the shower and she walks through the same area and there is no blood anywhere for her to notice. Jason didn't have enough time to clean up the area.

Revealing: After Loco has been killed, it cuts to a shot of Fox, who is pinned up on the rafters with a pitchfork. She is clearly moving, however, despite trying hard to stay still.

Continuity: Between shots, as Harold spit’s the fish food out, the position of the figurine fisherman’s wooden rod changes.

Revealing: Toward the end of the movie, Chris runs outside to find Rick after she finds a bloody dressing gown in the tub. When she goes by the tree, Loco falls down from the branches. When he falls you can see his closed mouth open a bit as if he was smiling.

Revealing: After Ali has smashed the front shield of the car it is obvious the window isn't made of real glass. It's made of plastic.

Continuity: When Vera asks Fox, "May I please have the wallet?" you see Vera holding the wallet unfolded. When it cuts the wallet is folded with no time for Fox to fold it.

Continuity: When Debbie is killed in the hammock, the knife goes through her breast. Later, when Chris pulls the knife from her, the knife is suddenly in her neck.

Visible crew/equipment: When Chris drives away from Jason, you can see a large white reflector screen or set light, reflected in the left side of the windshield.

Revealing: When Jason is hitting Ali in the head with a club you see Ali move all three times he is being hit before the club is near him.

Revealing: When Jason throws a knife after Chris you can see the wire attached to the knife.

Visible crew/equipment: When Jason is shooting at Vera with a harpoon you can see the wire attached to the arrow.

Continuity: When Chris shows Debbie the hammock, she removes a board and lowers her arm. When it cuts her arm is back up on the board.

Visible crew/equipment: When Chris is on the wooden beam in the stable, as she jumps down to land on Jason you can see a safety wire to the bottom left of the screen.

Other: When Harold is going "Number 2" on the toilet, you can hear his crap plopping into the toilet water. However when he is making his search in the bathroom, he walks by the toilet and there is nothing in it. The toilet is clean. He never flushes it before making his search.

Continuity: Jason's left eye is much lower on his face than his right eye, but it sits in a normal position behind the hockey mask.

Continuity: After Chris wakes up in the boat, the front of the boat gets stuck in some logs. The logs change position around the front of the boat between shots. Also, hay appears on Chris's shirt after she wakes up.

Continuity: The magazine Debbie reads in the hammock changes - look at the back cover when she climbs into the hammock with it. When she turns a page, watch closely and look at the back cover. It has changed.

Continuity: When Ali punches the car windshield, it is clear that the whole pane of glass is smashed out, but in the next shot the pattern of the missing glass is completely different.

Continuity: When Nick walks into the room, after Chris discovers Shelley in the cupboard, he leaves the door wide open. When the others enter the door is half shut.

Continuity: When Vera says "I never said you were a nothing." to Shelley you can see Shelley holding the harpoon pointing up. When it cuts he has it lowered out of sight.

Continuity: When Chris jumps down on Jason you can see a lamp shade lying on its side as they land on the floor. When it cuts it is suddenly lying upside down.

Audio problem: When Andy says to Debbie "How do we do it in a hammock?" his mouth doesn't move to the word 'hammock.'

Visible crew/equipment: When the gang get out of the van when they arrive at the camp, Chris tells them that she is going to take a look around. She then opens the rear door of the van and you can faintly see a reflection of a boom mic.

Visible crew/equipment: When the kids stop and gets out of the car you can see the microphone reflected on the car.

Continuity: When Chris is being choked by Jason in the van, the window starts off all the way down and then Chris turns the handle one full circle. In the next shot it is rolled up all the way.

Continuity: When Fox closes the door at the barn we can see she is closing the right door. When it cuts from the inside we can see her closing the left door.

Continuity: At the start in the van, the girl you see smoking dope hands over her cigarette to the other kid. She uses her index finger and her thumb with the cigarette facing downwards, but in the next shot she has got it between her index finger and middle finger and it is facing upwards.
