Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) - 47 mistakes

Visible crew/equipment: When Samanth is pretending to hid underwater until Sarah agrees to go swimmming, when Sarah is searching for Samantha, is shows a shot of Samantha coming from underneath the docks. When she does, you can see it is a dummy coming from underneath the docks.

Revealing: Trish tells Tommy to go get a hammer and some nails. When Trish then shouts "Tommy, hurry" you can see the shelf to her right get bumped by somebody in the crew, who was obviously standing nearby.

Continuity: When Jimbo gets his hand impaled on the counter with a corkscrew by Jason, the counter is clear, but a few scenes later as Jason leaves the kitchen, there's a pot holder laying on the counter.

Revealing: Just before Trish jumps out of the window, as Jason runs forward to get her, you can see he has normal, human eyes, instead of his disfigured, odd eyes, seen at the end of the movie.

Continuity: When Trish's car stops, the licence plate goes from dirty to clean.

Revealing: Near the end when Trish is running from Jason, Jason crushes a lamp on the floor and for an instant it becomes pitch black. A moment later, the room is lit again by a sudden occurrence of "moonlight."

Revealing: When Jimbo is killed with the cleaver, you can see that the cleaver has the front cut out of it to accommodate Jimbo's head.

Continuity: When Trish has entered her house after escaping from Jason, she hears him behind her in the doorway, and swings at him with a machete, but hits the door frame. You can see there's a mark from a previous swing.

Revealing: Near the end when Jason throws the hammer at the girl, it sticks to the damaged part of the wall after it hits. But it's just against the wood with the flat top, there's nothing to hold the hammer there and it's only hit the wood on the other side of the wall. They probably used a magnet to attract and keep it there for safety reasons.

Character mistake: When the car drives by the tombstone that says Pamela Vorhees, it says she died in 1979. But she didn't die until 1980, when the first Friday the 13th was made.

Deliberate "mistake": When Jason is going next door to chase after Trish, he pulls Jimbo's body down from the doorway and begins walking towards Trish's cabin. He is seen walking by himself. However in the next scene, he throws Rob's body through the window. There was no time for him to go back and get the body.

Continuity: After Tommy slices Jason in the head with the machete, he picks the machete up, and in this shot his shirt is dry. In the next shot when Trish goes over to hug him, his shirt is wet, then dry again.

Continuity: When Tommy is looking under the hood of the broken down car, it shows someone approaching and you see that they are wearing grey trousers. The person ends up being Rob, but Rob wears black trousers.

Factual error: When Tommy is playing Zaxxon on his computer, he is about to go into a barrier and die. Firstly the audio of the ship crashing happens before it hits, secondly, in the next shot the ship has reappeared.

Revealing: When Tina is thrown out of the window by Jason, you can see she is wearing soft body suiting on her legs as she hits the car.

Continuity: After electrocuting Jason with the TV, he falls backwards, and the door is left open. When Trish and Tommy walk over, the door is shut.

Continuity: When the paramedics are rolling Jason, his feet are not facing them, but when they come into the room with Axel, Jason has switched positions.

Continuity: As Jason breaks into Tommy's room, a purple monster mask on Tommy's wall starts to spin, then stops a few shots later, then starts spinning again in the next shot.

Continuity: In Part III, Jason's fingernails were neat and trimmed, but in Part IV (which occurs the very next day), they are long and black.

Continuity: Doug's hair changes between shots when he is in the shower.

Continuity: When Trish and Tommy push the cupboard in front of the door, the figurines and items on the shelves move/fall off/reappear between consecutive wideshots and closeups.

Continuity: When two of the teens are dancing to the rock music, one boy walks over, changes the record and then places a vinyl record on top of a box. In the next closeup the vinyl record he placed down has gone.

Continuity: When Tommy and Trish are hiding in a room, they sit down on the floor and Tommy grabs a chair in front of him. When it cuts the chair lies on the floor.

Continuity: Right before Jason slits Axel's throat, we see him grabbing Jason by his elbow. When it cuts from a shot above we see him holding Jason by his wrist.

Continuity: When Sam asks Sara to come into the water, Sara says no. Then Sam says "Then I'll go under water and stay there until you do", while placing her hands on the edge of the pier. When it cuts to a close-up of her she is resting her arms on the pier instead.

Continuity: When Jimmy and one of the twin girls go upstairs, Ted is left behind with the other twin. He tries to give her a charming look while both his arms arm down. When it cuts from behind him he is suddenly holding his left arm up.

Revealing: When Trish is inside the tent you see a shadow of a man outside. However it is dark outside so there could not be any shadow cast on the tent from the outside.

Continuity: When Trish drops the machete it falls half ways on a carpet. When Tommy picks it up it lays on the floor.

Revealing: After being hit with the machete, as Jason falls and lands on the ground (with the machete holding his skewered head in the air), it is painfully obvious from the skin texture and unnatural facial movements that his head is a replica prop.

Visible crew/equipment: When Terri goes outside to go home, as she walks towards her bike, you can see someone upstairs walking by the window. Must be a crew member because Tina and Jimbo are in bed having sex and Ted, Sarah and Doug are watching the film downstairs. Paul and Samantha are dead. There is nobody left in the house.

Continuity: When Jason kills Doug in the shower, there are two red lines on his hockey mask, under the eyes. However later, when Jason bursts through the window and grabs Tommy, the lines are gone.

Revealing: When Trish and her mom are jogging, a bush in front of them moves before they run by it, caused by the cameraman brushing it as he walked backwards.

Continuity: When Sara goes into the second floor bathroom to dry her hair, there is a bench in the hall. Later, when Jason chases Trish upstairs, the bench has moved across the hall.

Continuity: Trish swings the machete overhanded, but in the next shot she knocks Jason's mask off underhanded.

Revealing: When Trish jumps out the window and falls to the ground you can see her using a body suit covering her from her hips and down her legs.

Visible crew/equipment: When Paul is stabbed by Jason's harpoon and lifted up in to the air, the wires attached to him are visible on either side.

Revealing: When Tina is thrown out the window you can see the roof of the car is partially damaged and very flexible when she hits it.

Revealing: When Trish jumps out through the window, rolls off the deck, and lands on the ground below, she obviously lands on a mat or some other protective device covered to look like mud. It jiggles like jelly in a perfect square when she lands on it.

Continuity: Nurse Morgan's name tag is on the opposite side to the pocket with the pen in it, on her white nurse dress. Yet when Jason stabs Nurse Morgan, her name tag is right next to the pocket.

Continuity: After Trish jumps out of the window, the position of her feet and legs, and the planks of woods around her, change between shots.

Continuity: Trish swings the machete at Jason, and knocks his mask off. In a behind shot she holds the machete with both hands. In the next shot she only holds it with one.

Continuity: Jason slashes Jimbo in the face with a cleaver. It then cuts to another scene happening elsewhere. Then when it cuts back to the scene with Jimbo, Jason now has a large bloody knife instead.

Continuity: When the six teens are driving along in the car singing, between a wide shot and closeup of the car, the road and scenery behind them changes.

Continuity: When Trish is inching by Jason lying on the floor, in one shot she steps over his arm and her feet are near his shoulder, then in the next shot it shows her stepping over his arm again.

Continuity: When Gordon jumps out of the window, shards of glass breaks off, flying all around him as he jumps. In the next shot all the shards have just disappeared.

Continuity: When Trish grabs the TV to hit Jason with, the big lamp gets knocked to the floor. Moments later as they leave the room, the lamp is back up to standing.

Continuity: When Tommy is pretending to sleep when his mom comes into the room, he is on his stomach when she pulls the blanket over him. In the remaining shots starting with when his mom is closing the blinds, Tommy is suddenly laying on his side.
