Dracula (1992) - 68 mistakes
Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Anthony Hopkins, Cary Elwes, Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, Richard E. Grant, Sadie Frost, Winona Ryder (add more)
Continuity: In the party scene where Lucy is receiving her guests the 'cowboy' character leaves his hat on the sofa, where it is sat on. A moment later he is holding it in his hand and it is in perfect shape.
Revealing: In one of the first scenes, Winona Ryder (as Vlad the Impaler's wife), is lying on the floor, dead. Gary Oldman's Vlad falls to his knees, heartbroken, right next to the "dead" Winona, who flinches.
Continuity: When Van Helsing is drawing blood from Lucy Westenra, she alternates from having one breast exposed to being covered up from one cut to the next.
Audio problem: When Holmwood has the gun pointed in Van Helsing's face in Lucy's crypt, Van Helsing explains about the undead. Switch to a shot behind Helsing and his jaw is still moving even though he has stopped speaking.
Continuity: On the carriage ride to Dracula's Castle, Jonathan looks out the window and sees the wheels of the carriage. In the next shot, the wheels are covered by a sheet of fabric.
Factual error: When Mina is with Dracula within Dr. Seward's room, she is wearing a pink sort of nightgown through which, at times, you can see her tiny underwear (more visible when he confesses to be Dracula and she is upset about him having killed Lucy - turning her into a vampire), in a fashion that would not be likely to be worn by women in the late 19th century.
Continuity: At Lucy's dinner party, we see Jack Seward pick his hat up off the sofa so Quincy Morris does not sit on it. Once Quincy sits down, he gets a funny look on his face and then magically pulls Seward's crumpled hat out from under his butt.
Audio problem: When Dracula and Mina first meet on the street they begin to speak. Dracula's voice has not been dubbed during the first sentence or two. Then in mid stream his voice changes from a high pitched regular rehearsal voice to the heavily accented Romanian voice used throughout the rest of the picture.
Visible crew/equipment: After the hairy beast Dracula attacks Sadie Frost, Winona Ryder comes to get Sadie in the garden maze. While they're walking back, you can see the camera's shadow on Winona's back.
Revealing: When they are in the crypt to kill Lucy, they open the stone lid and look down. Clearly you can see glass on top of the inner coffin, yet later when Lucy goes in the coffin there is no glass.
Revealing: In the chase scene near the end, when Dracula is hiding inside an earth-filled coffin in the gypsy carriage, you can clearly see the tip of one of his rubber-made finger extensions bending.
Continuity: When Dracula sees Mina's picture in his castle, her face is turned to one side; when we see the picture again in the train scene, later in the film, the photo is reversed and her face is turned to the opposite side.
Continuity: In the last scene, when Mina Harker lays Dracula's body in the cathedral's altar, she kisses the vampire's lips and he turns into his human self. His face is covered with blood down from his nose, but after the kiss Mina's lips have no sign of blood.
Continuity: When Dracula stabs the cross and blood pours out of it, in one shot it is slowly creeping towards Mina's dead body and in another shot it is rushing past her and in the next shot it's slowly creeping again.
Continuity: When the wolf scares Mina in the movie theatre, her hat switches back and forth from being forward on her head, to being tilted back. It does this in about 5 shots.
Revealing: When Dracula comes into the chapel after his battle in the Crusades and finds her dead, her eyes are twitching and he runs up to her.
Visible crew/equipment: When Dracula is going to enter Lucy's bedroom for the last time, an unseen force knocks Cary Elwes backwards. Upon careful inspection, you can see a wire or cable pull him back.
Continuity: When Van Helsing breaks the news to Quincey after reading the "Vampyr" book, as he says, "Yes, we may still save her precious soul", he's gripping Quincey's coat, and Quincey's left arm is down, but in the previous shot, Van Helsing's arms were down by his side, and Quincey was holding onto the hat on his head. His other arm changes position as well.

Continuity: When Vlad finds Elisabeta dead, the suicide letter on her chest keeps changing position between shots.
Continuity: When Dracula charges at the cross atop the altar, Elisabeta's blood can be seen on the floor in the background. When Dracula is holding the communion chalice, the stains are darker, and change position.
Continuity: After Monica Bellucci rises up from the bed, the bedding instantly changes from pink, to a shiny fabric of many different colours. When Dracula flies into the room, the bedding goes back to pink, before becoming shiny again.
Continuity: When Dracula fills the communion chalice with blood from the bleeding cross, the blood is spilled over the sides and base of the chalice, but when he drinks the blood, the outside of the goblet is clean.

Continuity: When Mina and Lucy are looking at the pictures in "Arabian Nights", as they open the book, both of Mina's hands are holding the book, but in the next shot, her right hand is up by her mouth.
Continuity: When Jonathan is closing the transactions in Dracula's castle, a huge map of London can seen on the wall. There's a long wideshot where the camera pans along with Dracula's shadow on the map, and every inch of the map is revealed. Then, when Dracula mentions Renfield, Renfield's card, pinned to the map, appears out of nowhere.
Continuity: When Mina begins drinking blood from Dracula's chest, as he stops her, her face and teeth are clean. Two shots later, before she continues drinking, there's blood on her chin and her teeth.
Continuity: After Dracula opens a vein in his chest, his hair alternates between being over/behind his shoulder, depending on the camera angle.
Continuity: When Dr. Seward first talks to Renfield, as Renfield inspects the spider, he is sitting in a corner, but in the next shot, he's sitting right under the window.
Continuity: When Jonathan sits down next to Mina after Van Helsing inspects her teeth, Jonathan's forehead is shining with sweat. After Mina says, "Oh, what have I done to you", his forehead is showing no signs of sweat.
Continuity: When Mina receives the letter after Jonathan escapes, she's holding it in her hands as she begins to climb the stairs, but in the next shot, her hands are empty, best seen when Van Helsing holds her hands.
Continuity: When Prince Vlad enters the chapel to find Elisabeta dead, the floor in front of the baptismal font is clean, but when he tilts the basin, stains of Elisabeta's blood can be seen on the floor (best seen in the overhead shot).
Continuity: When Prince Vlad tilts the baptismal font, the stains of Elisabeta's blood on the floor changes position between the overhead shot and the close-up, easily seen from the cracks in the floor.
Continuity: When Dracula sees Jonathan's crucifix, most of the chain is under Jonathan's collar, but in the next shot, the entire chain is outside his shirt.
Continuity: Before the garlic falls down on Lucy's bedside table, it can be seen hanging on the lamp, but in the previous shot, as well as earlier in the scene, there was no garlic on the lamp.
Continuity: When Dracula helps Jonathan shave, one side of the crucifix around Jonathan's neck is under his shirt. When Dracula sees the reflection of the crucifix in the blade, the entire crucifix is visible, also when we see it's reflection in his eye. In the next shot, it's partly tucked under Jonathan's shirt again.
Continuity: During the scene in Lucy's room before Mina goes to Romania to marry Jonathan, Lucy's head keeps changing position on the pillows between consecutive shots.
Continuity: When the men open Lucy's grave, the position of Van Helsing's lamp and hammer changes position between the shot of Van Helsing and the following shot from above. The same thing happens after they see the empty coffin.
Continuity: Dracula has no reflection, as seen when Jonathan is shaving, and when Dracula buys the newspaper in London. But when he helps Jonathan with the shaving, every time he dips the blade into the water bowl, his red robe can be seen reflected in the bowl.
Continuity: When Keanu Reeves is being seduced by Dracula's brides, Monica Bellucci rips open his shirt, but in the previous shots, his shirt is already open.

Continuity: When Mina and Jonathan are dining with Van Helsing, there's a glass bowl in front of Mina. In some shots, it's full, but in two shots facing Van Helsing, the bowl can be seen in the lower right hand corner, and it's empty.
Continuity: When Jonathan is dining in the castle, as Dracula says, "That relationship was not entirely successful", there is nothing on Jonathan's fork, but in the next shot, there's a peace of food on it. The food stays there during the next few shots, until Dracula says, "It is no laughing matter", and the fork is suddenly empty again.
Continuity: When Lucy enters the vault, the candles on her left side ignite twice.
Continuity: When Mina drops the small bottle, as Prince Vlad catches it, the liquid is yellow. When his hand is magically higher up a second later, it's obviously not the same bottle; the liquid is much darker.
Continuity: When Jonathan is shaving and Dracula grabs his shoulder, the mirror that Jonathan is using is bigger than the one seen in the previous and following shots.
Factual error: Before the blood transfusion, Van Helsing says, "I've only experimented. Landsteiner's method". Karl Landsteiner's epochal article was published in 1900, three years after the movie is set.
Continuity: When the peasant woman gives Jonathan the crucifix in the carriage, the chain falls over the side of his palm. When he opens his hand to look at it, the chain runs between his fingers.
Continuity: When Dracula stamps the paper in the castle, in the wideshot, the wax seal is several centimetres away from his signature, but in the close-up, it is right next to his name. Also, his signature differs slightly between the two shots.
Continuity: When Jonathan is dining in Dracula's castle, some of the items on the table, like the carafe, keep changing position.
Revealing: At the beginning, when Vlad and his wife are parting, as his wife grabs his shoulder, you can hear that the armor is plastic.
Revealing: In the crypt scene, Van Helsing, as you can see, cuts off Lucy's head. But when the head pops off, you can see that where there should be blood, guts, flesh, etc., there is only some white blankness.
Continuity: When the brides of Dracula come out topless to suck Jonathan's blood, Dracula breaks in, furious, and the brides are suddenly fully clothed.
Continuity: During the crypt scene, when Lucy's body is interred, the shots of her in the glass coffin and later rising out of it, show dramatic difference in the depth of the coffin.
Continuity: Towards the end of the movie, Winona Ryder chants something as the men race to the Castle in the snow. Keanu Reeves or Bill Campbell - I don't know which - falls to the ground and someone goes to pick him up. I bet the crew made a bad mistake in editing. You can hear Winona say the first 3-syllables out of the 8-syllable chant. The shot doesn't change so much that you are out of earshot.
