Continuity mistake: Just watched the film Oliver, with the scene in the undertakers when Oliver is put in the coffin he is facing right but when the coffin lid is opened again, he is somehow facing the other way round. (00:25:00)

Suggested correction: When facing the coffin from the door, Oliver's head is to the right. When Mr. Bumble open the coffin, Oliver's head is still to the right.

Continuity mistake: When Mr Bumble and the female workhouse employee take Oliver to the Governor's office, Bumble raises his hand and knocks on the door. The woman sings "They will lay the blame on the one who named him", prompting Bumble to move his hand away from the door, toward his face, as if he's about to place it over his mouth in concern. The camera then changes angles and Bumble's hand is suddenly lowered and nowhere near his face.

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: At the outset of the song "Who will buy?", the price of roses is "four blooms for a penny." Then it suddenly doubles to two for a penny.

Bill Sikes: You're a fine one for the boy to make a friend of.
Nancy: Yes, I am, Lord help me! But tonight he's a liar, and a thief, and all that's bad! Ain't that enough for you without beating him to death?

Question: When Oliver takes the handkerchief from Fagin's pocket, did he really not notice that Oliver took it or did he realise that he did and pretended not to know? If it was the latter, why?

Answer: If you mean the scene where he is teaching Oliver how to be a pickpocket, then yes, Fagin knew. He is role-playing the part of a "victim," showing Oliver what it is like to steal an item from someone's pocket without it being noticed. He is employing some criminal "positive reinforcement."
