Last Action Hero (1993) - 5 questions
Directed by John McTiernan, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charles Dance, F. Murray Abraham, Ian McKellen (add more)
The "questions" section is for any random questions that occurred to you while watching this film, or anything you didn't entirely understand, and which Google or the IMDb can't help with. Submit them as a question, and hopefully someone will answer (the bold comments in brackets) - check back regularly. If the answer is wrong, or missing information, please use the "clarify answer" option. Don't feel limited - want to know what music played in a certain scene? Whether this was the first film to use a certain effect? Here's the place to ask!
Why were all the women wearing latex outfits in the movie? Is it supposed to be a futuristic society or what? [No, it's a movie world. All the women are beautiful and wear very tight clothing. There's a cartoon working for the police, all phone numbers begin with 555, guns make cars explode etc, etc. Basically, every action movie cliche you've ever seen is true here.]
All of the actors in this film are actually credited as either themselves, or their character in the Jack Slater films (for eg, the reporters recognise Tom Noonan as himself at the film premiere). However, the actress playing Whitney is actually called Bridgette Wilson, not Meredeth as Danny points out. Why was this? [When the reporter recognized Tom Noonan, it was when Danny and Jack are in the real world (where he is just an actor). When Danny called Meredith Bridgette Wilson, they were in the "movie" (where everyone is only known by their character's name).]
On IMDB it says in this film there are some INTENTIONAL continuity errors. Does anyone know any of the intentional errors, perhaps along with a timecode? [The kid points them out in the film, in order to convince Arnold's character that he inhabits movieland. Also, after Arnold's character falls into the tar pit he is able to completely wipe himself clean, an obvious intentional continuity error.]
