Factual error: Even though it is snowing throughout much of the movie, none of the snow seems to stick to any of the characters' fur. Even during the fight scene when they are rolling around in it, they are never covered with white.

Quotes
Diego: Are you calling me a liar?
Sid: I didn't say that.
Diego: You were thinking it.
Sid: [whispering to Manny] I don't like this cat. He reads minds.
Trivia
John Leguizamo tried a variety of different talking styles for Sid; after seeing a model of what Sid was going to look like, he came up with the lisp. See more...
Ice Age (2002) - 21 mistakes
starring Cedric the Entertainer, Denis Leary, Diedrich Bader, Goran Visnjic, Jack Black, John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Stephen Root (add more)
Continuity: When the squirrel gets stuck between the 2 glaciers he gets stuck at the bottom of them, but then it shows him getting fired out of the top of them.
Continuity: In the Ice Tunnel scene, Manny, Sid, and Diego come to a stop on the vertical block of ice. It breaks, and they slide through a 'field' of icicles sticking out of the ground. Their 'sled' is shaved down to nothing, indicating that the icicles are sharp. After going through the same tunnel as the baby, how did the baby make it through that field?
Continuity: The scene where Scrat is trampled you see the feet of a camel-like animal and the feet of a mammoth. When the camera pans up, the mammoth is nowhere to be seen.
Continuity: Near the beginning of the movie, when Sid decides to return the baby, he starts trying to climb up the cliff. The baby falls out of the little sleeping bag. After that, we never see it until it's used in the plan to escape the saber-toothed tigers. Animals don't have pockets, and I don't remember seeing anyone carrying it around, so where was the sleeping bag in between these two times?
Continuity: The scene where Manny builds his shelter. When Manny is bothered by what Sid is saying he turns around. The shelter that Manny has build is not large enough for him to turn around in it unless he walks out and turns around, which he does not do.
Continuity: At the end of the film when Manny lifts Diego by his tusk, the position of Diego's left paw on Manny's tusk changes places between shots.
Continuity: During the long sequence when the two animals are racing downhill through the snow, the weather suddenly changes from very snowy to extremely sunny.
Continuity: Scrat lands on the main road and is not stepped on for 16 seconds. During that time, not one animal passes by. Yet once he is stepped on, the animals pass by at 2 to 4 seconds each, and when the camera pulls back, you can see dozens of animals. Scrat should have been hit as soon as he landed.
Continuity: During the ambush sequence, the sky is dark and overcast. However, while Sid is creating the distraction by skiing and snowboarding, the sky is bright blue with white fluffy clouds, and immediately thereafter the sky returns to dark and overcast.
Continuity: After Scrats landing you can see three pair of feet who are stomping on him. At least two of the three pairs belong to tetrapod vertebrates (as can be seen when the camera pans up to behind the herd), so where is the second pair of their respective owners feet?
Continuity: When Diego, Manny and Sid are chasing the kid in the ice tunnels. They are right behind the kid. But when the shot shows the kid, the other 3 are nowhere to be seen.
Continuity: At the start of the movie, when the pig-type creatures are playing "Extinction", one of them dips his trunk in the mud. In the next shot of him, the mud has disappeared.
Continuity: Just after they have finished meeting Diego, Manny says to Sid, "Okay I'll help you return him, but promise me you'll leave me alone after that" and Sid says "Ok ok deal", but as he says "deal" the shot changes and they are further apart then they were before.
Continuity: At the part where Sid, Manny and Diego are at the "shortcut" Sid says "I choose life" and walks out of the shadow of the glacier thingies. In the next shot, the shadow is completely gone.
Continuity: When Sid is climbing up the wall, he is having trouble at a metre above the ground, Manny starts to say something. Mid-sentence the shot goes back to Sid and he is twenty metres up.
Continuity: When Sid wakes up and finds out that his family has abandoned him again, a animal in the process of migrating is walking by him leaving no traces of anything. But when Sid takes his next step, he walks into some feces he claims belongs to the animal that just walked by him. But the animal did nothing at all, the feces wasn't even there to begin with.
Continuity: When the Sabres are chasing Sid on the skis (made out of two slabs of rock), Sid loses one of the skis, one of his feet is then flapping about and the other one is on the back end of the ski (which then becomes a snowboard). In the next shot(no time between them) Sid has his foot halfway up the ski.
Continuity: In the opening sequence, when Scrat is stepped on by the animals, you only see their feet and nobody else's. When the camera pulls away, though, you see that the animal with Scrat stuck to his foot is nearest the camera with about 5 rows by the side of him. Surely you would have seen the other feet as well when Scrat got stepped on.
Continuity: In the cave scene where the animals are racing down ice tracks, there is a close shot showing Manny with his trunk flapping to his right. Then there is a long shot and his trunk in now flapping at his left.
Deliberate "mistake": When Scrat's coconut falls from the tree, it has already had its husk removed. The directors confirm this on the DVD commentary. They may have been worried that a lot of their audience would not recognise a coconut with its husk on.
