Continuity mistake: When we see the extreme close up of the robotic arm picking up the blue vial, the grip is uniform and parallel to the edge of the sliver end cap on the vial. When we see the vial a second later, the arm's grip has changed and is no longer parallel or uniform on the vial. (00:02:10)

Other mistake: The elevator is falling to the floor and so the counter weight is going up. But the counterweight doesn't fall back down after all the cables have snapped. What's holding it up? (00:05:55)

Visible crew/equipment: When the camera moves in on the security door at the Hive, the reflection of the camera operator can be seen moving in the chrome. (00:19:20)

Continuity mistake: The guy states that the room is sealed and his facial expression is one of panic. Camera cuts and now he's facing a different way and his expression has changed completely. (00:05:20)

Continuity mistake: When we see a CGI map of The Hive right before the Laser Room, the 3D thermal camera reveals a very rigidly stood up human body looking through the door's small window. When the camera cuts and we actually see Alice look through the window, she's slightly bent down so her head is on window level since she's taller. It's quite possible the CGI team just didn't spend more time than necessary to move the thermal human model's limbs and kept it in an almost default T-stance position. (00:29:30)

Continuity mistake: When the elevator starts to drop from floor 10, the floor indicator says 7, but a moment later it counts down from 9. (00:06:05)

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When Alice enters the kennel where the zombie dogs belonged to she passes a blue trolley on her left side. When it cuts from inside the room where we watch her through the window walking, she passes the same trolley again. (00:46:05)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning when Alice is wiping the mirror, you can see her mouth is open. When it cuts back to her it is closed. (00:09:00)

Revealing mistake: The Red Queen tries to goad Alice into killing Rain in the laboratory, with the Licker pounding against the glass outside. Just after they escape the room, the Licker breaks in. Watch its jump very carefully. you can see the exact invisible "line" where the Licker stops being a guy in a suit and becomes computer generated. It even changes colour. (01:20:45)

Revealing mistake: As the team gets off the subway and heads for the door into the Hive, the Red Queen's POV shows a nifty infrared display in the lower left corner that marks their locations - it obviously matches up to the ones on screen. But the dots are static, while the people are moving. (00:19:20)

Other mistake: Why does Rain get out her torch and hold it with her teeth before climbing under the train? It would have been easier to leave it in her pocket until after she climbed down. We also see, when she is working, that it has a device on the end for gripping it properly with your teeth (called a Lite Bite, I believe). Yet earlier she chooses to grip it by the barrel. Try it with a mini Maglite. It's not comfortable. (00:15:50)

Continuity mistake: When Rain is under the train using her flashlight to see if she can see something the hair hanging across her face changes position between the wideshot and the close-up shot. (00:16:00)

Factual error: When Red Queen is explaining about the T-Virus they say that fingernails and hair continue to grow after death. This is not correct, While it appears that they grow, its actually down to the tissue drying out and retracting. An article on the topic can be found here: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20130526-do-your-nails-grow-after-death A super computer that is knowle. (00:56:40)

Suggested correction: The T-virus causes the hair and nails to keep growing. The nails cause scratches that can increase infection, so it benefits the T-virus.

lionhead

That is not what was said at all. In the film it states that even in death, the body remains active and that hair and fingernails continue to grow, news cells are produced, and the brain holds a small electrical charge that takes months to dissipate (all of which are false). Then the T-virus provides a massive jolt to growing cells and the brain to reanimate the dead.

Bishop73

She says those things after they ask her what those things are. She then starts to explain how the T-virus works. She doesn't say a dead body always keeps active, she says a dead body infected with the T-virus is still active, regenerating cells, hair and fingernails continue to grow. In short, it reanimates the dead (to a degree). That's how I read it anyway.

lionhead

Where is it stated that the T Virus actually does this? Its stated that the virus reanimates the body but not sure on the other.

Other mistake: In the laser room everyone is lay on the floor to avoid the first laser. However in a shot from behind Alice you can see that someone is stood by the door in the corridor. (00:32:00)

Continuity mistake: When the SWAT team arrives at the hive, the open an elevator shaft and one of them lights a flare with 2 hands. As the camera changes, he is now holding it at arm's length and with one hand without enough time to do so. (00:23:05)

Rain: Bitch isn't standing now.

Question: Is the reanimation of dead people the purpose of the virus, or an unforeseen side effect? If it's a side effect, what was the original purpose of the T-Virus?

Answer: Actually the T-Virus was originally meant as a cure for a genetic disorder that Dr. Ashford and James Marcus daughters suffered from. The reanimation was a side effect and James Marcus was killed by Dr. Alexander Isaacs so he could take control of it and turn it into a bio-weapon.

lionhead

Answer: The original virus was a "Fountain of Youth" type of thing. Reviving dead cells so the host would stay young. It was so powerful that it reanimated the dead.

Grumpy Scot
