Plot hole: In the scene in the end where Lina is on the train leaving the ghetto you can see other kids with her, but earlier in the movie Misha said that all the kids were gone from the ghetto.

Continuity: In the scene where Jakob discovers Mischa sabotaging the cattle cars and tells him the first news from the radio, Mischa is struck by a guard and knocked off the train, rolling to the ground. He is then bare-headed, but when Jakob runs up to him, Mischa's cap appears on his head.

Factual error: In the very last scene the train is stopped by the Russian army and their tanks. The tanks are T-54's, which were not produced until 1955.

Revealing: In the beginning of the movie, when Jakob is chasing the newspaper, there are several times you can see the string they use to drag it.

Other: In the scene of Jakob's execution, there is a crowd of prisoners watching (extras). If you look carefully, you can notice a boy that is laughing.
