Wet Hot American Summer (2001) - 31 mistakes

Continuity: In the scene where Lindsay and the other girl counselors are stripping down to go into the lake, one of the girl counselors unhooks Lindsay's bathing suit top for her. In the next shot, her top is hooked back up again.

Continuity: When Beth is talking to all the camp counselors on the steps, the nurse suddenly disappears from the steps. This is evident when they are all walking away she cannot be seen where she was sitting earlier.

Continuity: At the beginning of the movie, when Beth is talking to Henry for the first time, she says, "Space: the final frontier," and Henry's hands can be seen in the shot. He's holding them high and out while playing with the handle of the shovel. In the very next shot, both of Henry's arms are down by his waist.

Continuity: Right after Gene knocks Susie over with the door, the shot changes to a group of kids sitting against a wall. Notice the kid in the blue tie-dyed shirt and glasses. When the shot changes back to Gene, the same kid can be seen sitting at the end of the table next to the kitchen door.

Continuity: When Ben and Susie are talking to the kids about being in the talent show, if you look at the window behind them, it is raining, but a few seconds later when the scene changes to outside, it is a bright and sunny day. Also, I was an extra in the movie (I sit in front of Abby and Lindsey when they're making out in the talent show) and it rained the whole time while they filmed the movie.

Continuity: When Andy throws his food all over the floor, he doesn't knock his cup or the napkin onto the floor. But when Beth orders him to clean up his mess the cup and napkin are missing from the table.

Continuity: When Victor is driving away from the campsite to meet Abby, the driver's side window is up. After he crashes into the tree the window is completely down, and it wasn't shattered in the crash because the second after the crash the window is still up. It's only when the shot changes that the window is down.

Continuity: When Coop goes to Katie's room to talk to her, she's standing in the doorway. If you look behind him (from Katie's point of view), you will see it is raining outside. But the next second, when the camera changes shots, it has magically stopped raining. The camera changes shots again (from Katie's point of view) and it shows that it is raining outside again.

Continuity: At the very end of the capture the flag game, Coop and McKinley can be seen chasing the guy holding the flag. If you look at the other people running there's a guy in a bright red shirt and between shots he keeps switching between being on the right side of McKinley and the left.

Continuity: When Victor and Coop are in line in the cafeteria, Gary brings out a whole tray of potatoes. When Victor is watching Abby lick the spoon, the potato plate is completely empty. In the next shot, the plate is full again.

Continuity: During the scene where Andy throws his food all over the floor, the position of the food changes places after it is thrown.

Continuity: At the talent show, whenever shots of the stage are shown, we can see the back of the girl's head that is sitting in front of J.J. and McKinley. The problem is, in these shots, J.J. and McKinley aren't sitting behind her, other campers are.

Continuity: If you look behind Gail at the talent show, sometimes there's a chubby boy wearing a red and purple striped shirt sitting behind her, and sometimes there isn't.

Continuity: When Susie is complaining to Beth about Steve being in the talent show, at the end of the scene a hot dog appears in Ben's hand out of nowhere, as it wasn't there in any of the other shots of the scene.

Continuity: In the scene where Beth is talking to Katie about how to look "hot," Katie's necklace alternates inside and outside of her shirt between shots.

Continuity: Right before Beth drives into town, the nurse runs down the hill to stop the car. When the nurse runs down, she runs past all the camp counselors sitting on the lawn to reach Beth who is parked directly in front of them. After the nurse runs away, you see the counselors run towards Beth's car, but at this point Beth is parked in a totally different spot, to the right of where they are sitting.

Continuity: When Gene comes into the cafeteria to thank everyone for the great summer, the kitchen door is wide open. Right after he says, "I'm gonna go hump the fridge," the door is only partially open.

Continuity: When Coop runs to Katie's cabin and sees her talking to Andy, right before he runs up the steps you can see the cabin door is closed. The shot changes and suddenly the door is wide open.

Visible crew/equipment: When Victor and Neil arrive at the campsite, Neil opens the front door of the van and you can see a crew member's reflection.

Continuity: In the scene where Lindsay and the other girl counselors are preparing to go swimming in the lake, Lindsay removes her shorts twice.

Visible crew/equipment: During the scene where Andy throws his food on the floor, Beth is standing on a taped yellow X.

Continuity: When the "new" Coop enters the talent show, look behind Katie and Andy and notice that the lock on the door is unhooked. When Coop walks over to them, the lock is now hooked.

Continuity: At the very beginning of the movie, the kids are trying to wake Coop up by singing to him. We see an overhead shot of the kids and the redheaded boy without a shirt on is to the right of the boy with the tennis racket. The shot changes and the red headed boy is now on the left of the kid with the tennis racket.

Continuity: When Aaron is telling Gail that men are insensitive, the girl next to him is playing with an arts and craft toy and in one shot the yellow feather is on top of the toy, in the next shot the feather is on the right hand side.

Continuity: After Beth finishes talking to the counselors and they all walk away, she yells something at all of them, and Katie can be seen on the left side of the screen, at the bottom of the steps tying her shoe. When the shot changes to JJ and McKinley, you can see Katie in the background, suddenly at the top of the steps.

Factual error: The zip code Henry gives Beth to Augusta (04139) is not a zip code.

Continuity: When Andy is standing by the table, Lindsay comes over telling him that she wants to make out, but he's all disgusted because she has BBQ sauce all over her face. For the first few angles of the scene, the BBQ sauce is on the corner of her mouth, and on the side of her face a little. But at one angle, it is ALL over her mouth. Then it comes back to the previous angles it is back in the corner of her mouth again.

Continuity: When Katie tells Coop she is going to find him a woman, his sweatshirt strings aren't visible. In the very next shot both strings are hanging out.

Continuity: When Coop tells Katie he's going to cancel the order of onions and limburger cheese, there's a girl with a red and white striped shirt passing by him on his left side. The shot changes to Katie, and when it goes back to Coop, the same girl is passing him but on his right side now.

Continuity: During the talent show scene, the boy in front of JJ and McKinley keeps changing. First it's a boy wearing a white and red shirt, and then it's a boy wearing a green and orange shirt.

Continuity: Even though it's supposedly warm enough to go swimming and wear shorts, you can see the actors' breath as they speak. It's very noticeable in the first mess hall scene where Gene is yelling and later when Andy is watching the kid water ski.
