Trivia

Writers and directors Myrick and Sanchez were catapulted into stardom and prosperity due to the success of The Blair Witch Project. In an interview, the question was raised: exactly how rich were these two men? One responded, 'I'm not allowed to say, but I'm looking at houses for the first time in my life.' See more...

The "questions" section is for any random questions that occurred to you while watching this film, or anything you didn't entirely understand, and which Google or the IMDb can't help with. Entry I've always wondered something - why didn't the filmmakers follow the hydro lines from the house to the nearest road?
Entry Is there ever indication as to how and why the three filmmakers are killed? [It is implied that Josh is murdered by someone (or thing) in the woods, and since the legend says that one child would face into the corner while the other was killed, we can assume that is how Heather met her end, and finally, since the child looking into the corner was killed afterwards, we can assume that is how Mike was killed.]
Entry Who made the handprints on the inside of that old house at the end? [Presumably it was the children being held there.]
Entry Why is Mike standing in the corner? Is he kept alive to be standing? [During the beginning interviews with the townspeople, the one guy tells how the killer, Parr, would make his victims stand in the corner as he killed the other kids. He didn't like the way they would look at him, so he made them stand in the corner.]
Entry At the end of the movie, when you see Mike in the corner, as Heather gets knocked down, the camera starts to go blurry. During the last few seconds, it almost looks as though there is another person, laying in front of the camera. Is this Josh, or is it just the film being affected by the light/blur? [I'm looking right now, and I don't see anything vaguely resembling a person]
Entry How did anyone find the cameras and the films? Surely if anyone else had gone into the woods, the same would have happened to them. So can anyone please explain? [Surely this is a joke question, right? The events in the film NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENED.]
Entry Why is it that we never see the Blair Witch? Also the cover is very convincing that this is a true story. Is it? [The Blair Witch does not exist. The reason you didn't see is it is an abstract concept. What you can't see is scarier because you make her up in your own mind. It is a complete hoax of a story. The three actors have been doing many other acting jobs since, especially Heather and Josh.]
Entry At the end when the girl 'dies' you can see someone in the corner. Who is it? [It is Mike. If you remember from earlier in the movie it was said that one person was made to stand in the corner while the other person was killed.]
