Continuity mistake: When the baseball hits Jesse in his head you see the ball hitting him on top of his head and bounce to the left. When it cuts the ball seem to hit him in the back of his head and fall straight down behind him. (00:08:35)
Factual error: During the baseball game in the beginning if you look in the background you can see several palm trees in the background. The movie takes place in Ohio where there are no palm trees. (00:09:15 - 00:10:05)
Suggested correction: Ohio is never specified as the state where the Nightmare movies take place until later in the series. As long as the state is unspecified as it is in Nightmare 2 and 1, visible palm trees are not a mistake.
All the films are supposed to take place in the same city. So if part 6 takes place in Springwood, Ohio, than so does this one.
While it would be true that the location in all previous films are now Ohio, it's hard to say if it's a mistake for the first 5 films, especially if there's no evidence for it being set in Ohio and evidence points to California. It would be more appropriate to make an entry in the 6th film saying the Ohio location contradicts what has been already seen. Otherwise, you would have to make a mistake entry every time the first 5 films reveal it's not set in Ohio, but filmed in California.
Suggested correction: Per the screenplays, the first two movies take place in Los Angeles.
I believe it was Wes Craven's intention to mention it's set in Los Angeles, but the actual script and film never state where Elm Street is located. It was an un-named suburb.
Continuity mistake: When Jessie meet Freddy for the first time you see no light on Freddy's face. But when it cuts there is light around Freddy's eyes.
Revealing mistake: When the bird is flying around acting crazy, both lamps get knocked off the tables, yet the room stays lit up.
Continuity mistake: Lisa's shoes change between white flats and white sneakers at different points during the last few scenes.
Continuity mistake: In the start of the movie, depending on the scene, the words on the bus change between "schoolbus" and "school bus".
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when the bus is driving through the desert, there are almost no passengers in it even though it was half full before. (01:18:50)
Continuity mistake: After Schneider is tied to the showers he is stripped and we see him being smacked with towels across his bare butt. When the last towel hits him there is shot of him writhing in pain and he's still wearing the black leather pants he had on earlier.
Continuity mistake: When the basketball shoots out for Schneider it is brown, when it hits him in the head it is white, and when it lands on the floor it is brown again. (00:33:30)

Continuity mistake: While in the classroom when the teacher says "just like the human heart" you see Jesse supporting his head with his hand. When it cuts to a closeup of Jesse, you see the way his hand is supporting his head has changed. (00:15:55)
Revealing mistake: When Freddy pulls open his head, revealing his brain right before he pulls his skin back, you can see his eyelashes in one shot with a close-up of his face.
Revealing mistake: When Freddy bursts out of the ground at the pool party look closely. The facial makeup's different looking. Clearly this a stuntman.
Other mistake: When Freddy puts his claws through Grady, not only do thy go through him, they manage to go well past the door. There is no way Freddy's claws are that long. (00:57:20)
Suggested correction: Since when can't Freddy exaggerate anything to aid his killings?
Continuity mistake: When the two boys are told to assume the position, the amount of grass on their tops changes between camera angles.
Continuity mistake: When Jesse and Lisa are making out on the floor you see Jesse holding Lisa's arm. When it cuts, Jesse has both his hands on Lisa's breasts. (00:50:40)
