Continuity mistake: When Rocky and Paulie are giving advice to Rocky Jr, they stop for a second in front of a foreign looking market. Then they cross the street. At that point, the market is covered in shade, and the sunlight is on the other side of the street. Seconds later, the shot changes, and the market's side of the street is suddenly the sunny side. Continuity mistake: At the end of Rocky IV, Rocky's son Robert is around 6 or 7 years old. After Rocky comes back from Russia in Rocky V, his son is around 12. While there was a 5 year interval between Rocky IV and V, no time had elapsed from the two in movie time. So, therefore, his son should still be the same age given that Rocky has just recently fought Drago, "The Russian" considering his bruises, and they all returned home right after the fight.

Continuity mistake: In Rocky V, the boxer in the sign at Mighty Mick's Club is looking right at you, but he is looking at his left shoulder in the past Rocky movies.

Revealing mistake: When Rocky delivers the final uppercut at the end, the punch misses by inches.

Continuity mistake: During Rocky's "thinking" drive he takes in Rocky IV, his license plate sticker had an expiration date of 1986, which means the time frame for Rocky IV was 1985-ish. However, after Rocky comes home from his fight with Drago (which was only about a month's time span) and has the difficulties with his family we see in Rocky V, his son and their friends can be seen watching Christmas Vacation, which came out in 1989, over 3 years later.

Continuity mistake: Right at the end after Rocky has defeated Tommy Gunn and George Washington Duke is taunting him Rocky leans down to one side in order to uppercut GWD. In the next shot the punch comes from the other side, ie the "raised" side. No matter how hard his punch is, he couldn't raise GWD off the ground and knock him out with the way his body is twisted.

Audio problem: When Rocky steps down from the plane from Russia he says "Where's the kid?" but his mouth is not in sync. The scene was obviously dubbed.

Plot hole: The events of Rocky V take place immediately after the conclusion of Rocky IV. With that being said, Paulie is being blamed for signing over the family's fortune to their crooked account. But how could that have been possible when the entire family, except for their son, was in Russia training Rocky for the fight with Drago?

Suggested correction: Because Paulie had signed over power of attorney to the accountant six years prior, the accountant had squandered the money and failed to pay Rocky's taxes all that time. It wasn't something Paulie was supposed to have done while he was in Russia.

That still would not have been correct, and the studios messed up on that particular part because 6 years prior to Rocky IV in 1985, the events of 1979's Rocky II happened. In this film, Rocky was broke and in desperate need of money. He had blown all of the money from his first fight with Apollo, lost his job at the meat slaughterhouse, and was broke. So tell me, during that time, how could Paulie have signed anything over to anyone? Rocky did not have millions at that time.

While Rocky II came out in 1979, it was set in 1976 - 10 months after the fight with Apollo.

Plot hole: Paulie couldn't be that stupid so as to not tell Rocky that his accountant needed his signature for a tax extension.

Suggested correction: Paulie isn't exactly a Rhodes Scholar. I doubt he has any formal education beyond high school. He likely has no knowledge whatsoever about what a power of attorney is or what it does. Very easy to trick.

And furthermore, Paulie couldn't have had anyone sign anything on Rocky's behalf. Once it's proven in court that someone forged Rocky's signature, then everything would have been reversed and he would have never lost his fortune. If this was that easy, then anyone could walk into an office claiming to know a billionaire, sign a piece of paper, and get all their money.

Rocky: You knocked him down, why don't you try knockin me down now?
