Continuity: As Mitch ties up the shutter, he goes over to Lydia. Look at the shades pulled up well above the middle of each window. Later when we see the windows again, just before the lights blow out, the right shade has been pulled down to the middle of the window.

Continuity: As Mitch asks Melanie how you can tell if birds are molting his head leans to the right, then to the left between shots.

Continuity: Melanie starts to blow the horn of the cream colored station wagon and we see her left hand go from flailing around to being firmly on the steering wheel between shots.

Continuity: After the birds break the window, Mitch tries to close the shutter and they peck at his left hand bloodying it up. In the next shot as he finally gets the shutter closed there's no blood on his hands. After this he ties the window shut with the cord from the lamp and the blood on his hands is back again.

Continuity: We see the back of Mitch's coat as he reaches for the doorknob of the restaurant. It's wetter in the next shot as he brings Melanie back into the restaurant.

Revealing: When Mitch runs to get the hammer and nails the camera follows him around the corner of the kitchen door. Watch very closely as the door on the far right of the screen moves when the camera hits it. The film also jiggles as this happens.

Continuity: The children pass the cream-colored station wagon parked across from the white picket fence as they run down the hill. But you can tell by looking at the rear fins that it's a different car than the one Melanie brings the two children into several shots later.

Continuity: As Lydia walks through Mr. Faucet's door her pocketbook is brown. We get several other good looks at it as she walks into the house and down the hall and it's now black.

Continuity: The wood on the ladder changes between shots. First it's unstained, then it stained green and then it's unstained as she gets to the bottom.

Continuity: As Melanie and Mitch walk up to Annie's house they pass the school and you can see that the bench that Melanie sat on in front of the monkey bars has been removed.

Continuity: As Melanie approaches the boat keeper her pocketbook is hanging around her wrist. In the next shot as she speaks to him the pocketbook is in the crook of her arm.

Continuity: As they speak on Annie's front porch Melanie says, "Well, I'd better be on my way" and her left hand is at her side. In the next shot she's holding it straight out.

Continuity: How does Tippi Hedren (Melanie), every time she is attacked by birds, manage to get to a top-notch hairdresser before the next scene? Melanie's hair changes many times in consecutive shots throughout the film.

Continuity: As Melanie hands lumber to Mitch the upper window has no curtains on it and a light can be seen shining through. In the next shot there are curtains on the window.

Continuity: The angle of Annie's head changes from looking to the left when we first see her to looking up in the close-up.

Continuity: As Melanie and Mitch walk past the side of the restaurant look closely at the windows at the top left of the screen. They have transparent green shades on the rear windows that are pulled down about one-third of the way from the top. In the next shot, when we see the back of the restaurant, no shades are pulled down.

Continuity: As Melanie approaches Mitch's house for the first time we see one single fence around the yard where the children are attacked by the birds in the party scene. Later in the movie there's a double fence there.
