Mistake Continuity: When Tippi Hedren is having her head wound cleaned in the restaurant, Rod Taylor is wiping her blood off with a tissue but it does not actually come off; in the next shot, however, there is clearly no blood on her head.

Mistake Other: When Mitch is in the car, after listening to the radio he switches it off and the subtitles read 'Clicks of radio', yet it should be 'Clicks off radio.'

Mistake Continuity: All through the party scene, the balloons change position, and balloons disappear and appear too.

Mistake Continuity: Inside the restaurant Melanie talks to her father on the phone at the bar. The phone's chord changes position between shots. At first it's resting on her sleeve then in the next shot it's on her forearm.

Mistake Continuity: As Lydia carries the birthday cake out, the shades of the window behind her are open. When we see this window again a few seconds later as she runs into the house the shades are closed.

Mistake Continuity: When Mitch and Melanie are talking in the café, the bottle of peroxide on the table moves from being near Mitch to near Melanie.

Mistake Continuity: When Annie tells Melanie that she should go to Cathy's party the belt of her robe draped over her right knee moves between shots.

Mistake Continuity: After talking to Mitch on the phone, as Melanie sits behind Annie's desk there are two pens on top of the sheets of paper to the left of the pencil holder that were not there before. Neither Annie or Melanie touched a pen or pencil in this scene.

Mistake Continuity: As Mitch leaves the house to get Melanie's car in the garage the large brown wooden chair that has been to the right of the door throughout the movie has disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: As Lydia walks up to Mr. Faucet's room, the hallway is dark except for the light coming through the door. The sunlight on the floor is much wider than the window of the door in front of her and there's no evidence of any light fixture above her or her hair would be lit up.

Mistake Continuity: As the birds fly out of the fireplace, the pillows that Lydia was sitting on have been fluffed up between shots.

Mistake Continuity: The body of the gas station attendant moves to the left between shots, as Mitch runs to help him, and Mitch's position changes after he runs to help.

Mistake Continuity: How does Tippi Hedren (Melanie), every time she is attacked by birds, manage to get to a top-notch hairdresser before the next scene? Melanie's hair changes many times in consecutive shots throughout the film.

Mistake Continuity: In an earlier scene as Melanie plays the piano and Cathy stands there look closely at the drapes on her left. In that scene the drapes were right up against the edge of the wall, now as Mitch checks the windows before the last attacks they're pushed back several feet.

Mistake Continuity: In the upstairs bedroom attack the first blackbird scratches Melanie's face and her left hand goes from pointing upward to pointing across her face between shots.

Mistake Continuity: As they all prepare to leave the house part of Melanie's bloody dress sticks right up towards her chin, but when Mitch and Lydia swing her around towards the car it's not sticking up anymore.

Mistake Revealing: The birds on the floorboard of Melanie's car are fake. If you look closely at the one on the right it wobbles like a toy as she's driving.

Mistake Continuity: After Mitch finished pouring out the drinks for Melanie and himself there was still a little bit left in the bottle. He never pours out any more but as they get to the bottom of the hill when they throw away their glasses the bottle is empty.

Mistake Continuity: When Mitch returns from the garage, the blood stain on Melanie's head is about an inch lower that it was before when Lydia put the bandage on it.

Mistake Continuity: As Melanie leaves the card at Mitch's apartment door the drapes on the window behind her are still. In the next shot they are blowing in the wind.
