Continuity: In the scene near the end of the film where Drew and her son are in the car together and Drew is in the passenger seat, there are several close-ups of Drew's face. Her eye make-up, especially the black eye-liner, changes at least 5 times in the space of about 10 minutes.

Factual error: The movie takes place in Connecticut from 1961-1986. All the cars in the movie have license plates on their front bumpers, but Connecticut didn't require front plates until just a few years ago (late 90s-early 00s).

Continuity: When Drew Barrymore and Steve Zahn are in the car together about to make out for the first time, Steve Zahn tells Drew Barrymore that she doesn't want to get involved with a guy like him. Immediately after this, the shots switch between Drew and Steve, and Drew's hand alternates between on the top of the seat, and down by her lap.
