Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) - 50 mistakes
These mistakes are currently being ordered by time. Entries without times will appear at the end.
Other: When Tommy and his friend has dug up Jason's grave they have dug at least a feet down around the coffin. Why would they do that when all they have to do is uncover the lid on the coffin and remove it?
Continuity: When the group of kids enter the police station, Cort has his headphones around his neck, then a few shots later, he takes them off his ears.
Continuity: When Tommy picks up the mask before throwing it into Jason's grave he holds the mask with one hand only. But when it cuts to him throwing it, he is holding the mask with both hands.
Continuity: When Tommy throws Jason's mask in his grave, when Jason wakes up from the lightning bolt. Jason picks his mask up off the ground yet Tommy threw it in his grave.
Revealing: When the lightning strikes the metal pole in Jason's grave for the second time, a wire is visible attached to the tree where the electrical explosion appears.
Continuity: In the beginning, when Tommy dig up Jason's grave, they have a close up of Jason's eye, and they are brown. But, at the end when Megan cuts his neck with the propeller, his eyes are blue. Then, they are brown again for the last shot of Jason.
Revealing: When we see a closeup of Jason opening his eyes for the first time he is supposed to be lying in his coffin. One of the maggots falls across his face. If he really was lying down the maggot wouldn't fall like that.
Continuity: In the film Tommy pulls the rod out of Jason and you see Tommy remove his right hand glove. In the next shot, Tommy is taking off the right glove again.
Revealing: In the film Tommy runs to his truck after Jason has been brought back to life. Tommy is seen jumping into his truck and the engine rev's before he has even put the key in the ignition.
Revealing: When Tommy goes to the Sheriff's station to warn the cops about Jason, he freaks out and grabs a shotgun. Sheriff Garris throws him to Deputy Rick, who drops the fastfood boxes he was holding. We can see (and hear) that the boxes are empty when they go flying.
Continuity: During the scene where Jason kills the couple in the volkswagen and again during the police chase it goes from night to day to night again.
Deliberate "mistake": When Jason rams the iron pole through the windshield of his first victim's car, the windshield breaks like normal glass.
Continuity: When Jason kills Lizabeth, the first shot shows Jason with his feet on either side of her head, but in the next shot, his feet are together.
Other: When the counselors show up at camp with groceries, two of them walk away with bags to take inside. However if you watch the reflection in the side of the truck you can see them sit down and wait for the scene to end!
Revealing: When the clumsy guy is running in the forest you see him tripping in some bushes. Then some wire, probably used to tie up the bushes, gets stuck in his feet and he is struggling to get it away as he is stumbling. In the next shot the wire is gone.
Visible crew/equipment: During the paintball scene where Jason jumps down from the trees, he chops three people's heads off at once and when those bodies land you can see the crashmats at the bottom of the screen.
Revealing: During the Paintball game, Jason decapitates 3 players who are standing side by side all in one swing of his machete, unfortunately all 3 people are of completely different height to each other so there is no way he could of decapitated them all at once. Also, even a viewer with the poorest eye sight can see the boxes the 3 dummies are standing on when their heads fly off.
Continuity: After Jason kills the 3 paintball players, he comes after Roy who panics and shoots Jason in the chest with a paintball. Jason even looks down at the paintball stain before he chases after Roy. Yet in all the later scenes, the paintball stain is gone.
Continuity: When Sissy and Paula are in the cabin as the girl screams, Sissy holds her hand up. When it cuts to them running, her arm is suddenly down.
