Visible crew/equipment: After Sarah meets Sir Didymus at the Bog of Eternal Stench, Sir Didymus climbs on Ludo's back. While he is up there, the bottom portion of Didymus' right hand 'puppet control rod' is seen being controlled on Ludo's right side. The top portion of his right hand control rod is seen many times throughout his shots. His left hand control rod is concealed as his staff.

Visible crew/equipment: When Sarah and Hoggle are in the Bog of Eternal Stench and they almost fall in, look in the top left hand corner of the overhead shot and you will clearly see a boom microphone.
Visible crew/equipment: In Goblin City, six guards gather together and one says, "Steady men. Hold your ground." The huge boulder comes rumbling towards them and hits them head on. In the wide shot as they lift off the ground, the tall pipes that create the white smoke are seen beneath them.
Visible crew/equipment: Jareth says, "Sarah, don't defy me," and tosses the snake at her neck. In the next shot facing Sarah as she holds the snake, a crew member's hand is seen holding the end of the 'snake' below her right shoulder.
Continuity: Sarah wears her ring on her right hand. However as Sarah begins to climb the ladder in the tunnel after she answers, "You're right," when she puts her right hand on the rung above her, the ring is gone, but it's back in the following shots.
Visible crew/equipment: As Sarah, Ludo, Hoggle and Sir Didymus finally walk into Goblin City and reach the fountain, they face the stairs with the surrounding spike walls. In the next two shots, the Goblins appear behind the spiked walls, and in the second shot, on the right, a puppeteer's arm - wearing a short sleeved blue shirt, is amusingly visible under his Goblin soldier puppet; the top of the head of another puppeteer is visible to his right!!
Continuity: When Sarah holds Toby and says, "Knock it off, come on. Stop it. Stop it," her ring is on her middle finger. However in the wide shot, still holding Toby, she says, "I can bear it no longer..." her ring is now on her ring finger.
Visible crew/equipment: Sarah's father's bedroom back doors open up and the owl flies in towards Sarah. While in the doorway, the lines that the owl hang from are visible.
Continuity: Sarah sits in her fake room, picks up the book, 'The Labyrinth' and is seen in her reflection. She then says, "Through dangers...take back the child you have stolen." When the Junk Lady asks, "Don't you like your toys?" and also when she gives Sarah the music box, Sarah is seen. In each shot the things behind Sarah's shoulders and in front of her are different, yet, the Junk Lady did not add anything between these shots.
Continuity: When Jareth says "And Hoggle. If she ever kisses you..." between shots, the crow perched on the branch behind him is sitting on a different branch when he says the last part of the dialogue.
Continuity: Just after Hoggle pulled Sarah up, away from the Fireys he is standing by the rope he used to pull her up. In one shot as Hoggle says "Down, go away" the rope is hanging down off the ledge, but in the next shot, all the rope is pulled up, away from the ledge, and is in one big heap.
Visible crew/equipment: At the start of the film, when Bowie sings the word, "Underground," the last word of the song, it's just at that moment the screen goes from black background to a backdrop of trees in the real park, which is the same moment the animated owl turns into a real owl, the wire attached to the real owl's left foot is visible. There is a jess (strap) around its left foot, that is also clearly visible when he lands on the obelisk in the park.
Deliberate "mistake": When Sarah angrily goes into her father's bedroom to retrieve Lancelot, as she screams, "I hate you!...," to Toby, who is in the crib, the crib's legs are visible and there are NO casters (wheels) attached to the legs. However, in the rest of the shots, whenever visible, there are ball bearing casters on the legs of the crib!
Continuity: When Sarah sees Toby in the Escher-style room, she jumps of the edge of the platform. As she jumps off, she raises one leg behind her other, yet in the next shot her legs are beside one another.
Visible crew/equipment: After the Masquerade scene, you see Sarah falling on top of a dump. When she falls, you can clearly see the wires attached to her letting her down.
Continuity: As Sarah starts to run down the labyrinth, just after she's entered it, the ribbons on the back of her jacket go from tied to loose then to tied again.
Visible crew/equipment: When Hoggle is spraying the fairies, before he sprays fairy number 58, two thin black wires making the fairy fly are quite visible.
Continuity: When Sir Didymus is being chased in the goblin city by the guards, the distances between the guards and Didymus, and the actual guards chasing him, changes frequently between shots.
Continuity: At the start of the film, as Sarah runs across the bridge, there is a curve in the right side of the river bank which is just grass. However when Sarah runs back across the bridge, that area is now filled with bunches of tall white flowers.
Visible crew/equipment: When Jareth throws a crystal ball across the Escher-style room, it bounces near Toby, who is sitting at the top of a flight of stairs, and Toby catches it. If you look behind Toby you can see a safety wire attached to the back of his pyjamas.
Visible crew/equipment: In Goblin City, a small boulder jumps into the mouth of a cannon just as a guard yells, "Fire!" After exploding, the guard then says, "Hey, I just fired you," as the "cannonball" hops around near the cannon yelling, "Ouch, ouch, ouch!" and the wires attached to it are visible.
Continuity: At the Bog of Eternal Stench, Sir Didymus is on Ludo's back and whacking Ludo on his head repeatedly. In the next shot Ludo bends over and Sir Didymus, who holds a clump of Ludo's hair in each hand, flips over Ludo's head. Sir Didymus' staff falls in front of Ludo's face between the clumps of hair onto the ground at his feet. Yet after Ludo sends Sir Didymus flying, way behind him, Sir Didymus jumps out from behind the rock with the staff in his hand.
Visible crew/equipment: A cannonball goes flying, when Sarah and the gang are at the Goblin City (The one that says "I hit something? Yes? No?") and as it heads towards the wall, you can see the wire it's attached to.
Continuity: When Sarah is putting lipstick on, the newspaper clippings and photos on her mirror change position and arrangement between different angles and shots.
Other: In Sarah's room, after the close-ups of Lancelot's empty shelf space and of Sarah beginning to say, "Someone..." as she finishes, "..has been in my room again," in this wide shot, while still on her bed until she leaves her room, there is a mark across Sarah's forehead that extends to the left side her eye. It isn't in the previous or following shots.
Continuity: This can only been seen in the letterbox version of Labyrinth. After Sarah says, "It's all junk," the garbage lady grabs a ballerina music box and says, "Well what about this, this is not junk," and hands it to Sarah. She takes it, then for a second it cuts back to the garbage lady. The music box is still sitting on the table after it was handed to Sarah.
Continuity: When Jareth is singing "Dance Magic," he is throwing Toby into the air. In one throw, Toby's back is facing the camera, but in the very next shot, when Toby lands in one of the Goblin's arms, he is now facing the camera.
Visible crew/equipment: When the boulders start to roll into Goblin City, just after someone yells, "Good Grief" and just as the guards start to gather together, on the left of the screen a bug is seen going down a wall, then it's seen going up the wall, and the wire is visible.
Visible crew/equipment: When Hoggle jumps off the wall's ledge onto the gate's metallic robot, the lines attached to Hoggle are visible. Hoggle then yells, "Get out of there!" to the controller of the giant robot. As he leaps on top of him, and when Hoggle says, "My turn now," the lines attached to Hoggle are seen again.
Continuity: As Sir Didymus bangs the large grey brick holding the bridge up and says "Have no fear sweet maiden...", the large brick then suddenly falls. Between shots the amount of green fungus and moss covering the grey brick increases.
Continuity: When Jareth's shadow menacingly appears on the rug beside the crib, Sarah's legs face the doorway on the rug - which has light stripes parallel to the doorway. However, in the close-up of Sarah's legs, when the snake/scarf turns into a Goblin, her legs face the doorway and the rug stripes run perpendicularly.
Continuity: In the junkyard, after Ludo pulls Sarah out of the garbage room, Sir Didymus says "M'lady look, we're almost there...." and then there is a shot of the gates to the Goblin City. The junk which sits around the gates to the Goblin City is piled rather low. However when Sarah, Ludo and Sir Didymus arrive at the gates, the junk to the right hand side of the gates is now piled up much, much higher.
Continuity: When Sarah first enters the labyrinth, and is running down the passage, the branches, bits of log and wood etc., change, disappear and reappear between different angled shots as she runs.
Visible crew/equipment: After the Goblins sing, "Slime and snails... Thunder or lightning," they all sing, "Jump, magic, jump..." and when the Goblin, with the red scarves at his waist (same one as earlier shot, also visible in later shot), lands back on the ground the wires attached to the back of his shoulders are visible. Then in the next wide shot, the wires attached to the back of the waist on the tall Goblin with the long hair, are visible.
Continuity: As Hoggle and Sarah fall out the end of the chute that leads to the Bog of Eternal Stench, look closer and you can see that Sarah falls through the end of the chute twice.
Continuity: When Sarah shows Hoggle her plastic bracelet in the oubliette, when trying to get him to take her as far as he can to the centre of the labyrinth, in one shot she holds the bracelet between her finger and thumb, then in the next shot it is dangling off her finger.
Continuity: When Sarah runs to the side of the 'bubble' and smashes the glass with a chair, you can see that the table and the chair that she uses aren't reflected in the glass as she runs up to it.
Continuity: The twin doors in the bedroom fly open, and as a result the curtains are opened and pulled behind each of the doors as the owl flies through. However in the close-up of the owl attacking Sarah the curtains are visible and they are now blowing in front of the open doorway. Then as Jareth's shadow is seen on the rug, it's clear that the curtains are pulled apart by their shadow, which is also the case in the next shot of Jareth standing in the doorway with the curtains indeed pulled behind the doors.
Revealing: During the 'Dance Magic Dance'-sequence in Jareth's throne room, David Bowie throws up a baby dummy (it's near the end of the song).
Continuity: When Jareth throws the snake at Sarah, from a back shot the snake goes over her shoulders and crosses over by her neck, but in the next front shot the snake is only in front of Sarah and isn't over her shoulders anymore.
Continuity: In the park, Sarah begins reciting the lines, "Through dangers untold...beyond the Goblin City..." and her hair in back is pulled up very loosely in her barrette, seen clearly as she speaks. Yet in the shot of her back, when Merlin barks, her hair is twisted perfectly in the barrette.
Other: When Sarah is in the room with the old hag who lives at the rubbish dump, the old hag asks, "What's the matter, dearie? Don't you like your toys?" Connelly is mouthing the hag's lines, presumably as a prompt to recall her own lines.
Revealing: Jareth sends a crystal ball to turn into the cleaners in the ugliet. Right after the cleaners appear, the camera turns to Hoggle & Sarah, where Hoggle says, "Oh no, the Cleaners." Soon after, the two of them start to run. As they start to turn, look above at the ceiling. A light turns on to show them the way out.
Continuity: When the Goblins are spooking Sarah in the dark bedroom, she spins round as a few pop out at the same time (near the vanity table, from the dresser drawer...), and one lifts the lid of a brown case atop the tall dresser. However, in the previous shots of the well lit room and when she first entered the dark bedroom, that case was gone - replaced with flowers.
Continuity: After Sarah runs up the stairs and shouts, "I can't do anything right, can I?" in the next two close-ups of her stepmother, the foyer table stands on an area rug with multi floral at the edge, inner red floral and a center floral medallion. As the camera pans out in the next shot, the table stands on the medallion, whereas in the previous close-ups it stood farther over, on the red.
Continuity: When Sarah, Hoggle, Ludo and Sir Didymus enter the center of the Goblin City, a cannonball is fired at them, but it misses and it hits a clean portion of one house's white wall. However in a previous shot, the same portion of wall was covered in a black grubby substance.
Deliberate "mistake": When Sarah, et al are surrounded by the Goblins in Goblin City, the first cannon fires causing an explosion in front of some buildings, one of which has a hanging sign with scissors on it. Later, after the squatty Goblin says, "Hey! I just fired you!" another cannon fires causing an explosion, and the very same shot is shown, only the first one was flipped.
Continuity: In Goblin City, after the boulder positions itself on the edge of the wall, it falls on top of a talking gun/cannon, smashing it to smoldering bits, and it says, "Hey, no problem," in the close-up. In the next shot, as Sarah runs up the step to shout for Sir Didymus, the smoldering cannon bits on the ground are quite different.
Continuity: When the gang encounter the large robot, as the robot forms together, you can see there is a big axe leaning up against the wall, to the right of the robot. The robot then bellows "Who goes," for the first time. Then it cuts to Sir Didymus barking and then in cuts back to the robot taking two steps forward - in this shot, the giant axe which was propped up against the wall, has gone. It then returns in the following shot.
Continuity: When Sarah is at the park reciting the Labyrinth play, she has stud earrings in each ear. When she arrives home and then argues with her mum, they have gone.
Continuity: When Sarah is hanging on the branch over the bog, Ludo calls a rock and the rock rolls into the bog, and is pretty round, with no large flat areas on it. However when it's floating in the bog, Sarah jumps onto it and the rock now has a very large flat area.
Visible crew/equipment: When the second rock that Ludo calls rolls towards Sarah, the wire attached to it is visible.
Visible crew/equipment: In the Goblin city, Ludo calls the rocks and the rocks emerge. There is then a shot of a soldier on his stead, wearing orange armour, tumbling over as he gets hit by a rock. As he falls, the wires holding him are blatantly visible.
Continuity: Ludo holds Sir Didymus up by his staff and promptly drops him on the ground. He gets up, whacks Ludo in the knee with his staff and then his plastic staff bends and folds over as it hits the knee. Yet in the following shots his staff is creaseless and straight again.
Deliberate "mistake": At Jareth's castle, in the room with the Escher stairs, Sarah sees Toby and she jumps. It's very apparent that it's a stuntwoman jumping from the ledge in the wide shot.
Continuity: Sarah is rescued from her fake house and head towards the gates to the Goblin City. Hoggle is seen poking his head out in the wide shot and then a close-up. The things around Hoggle change in the two shots.
Continuity: When Sarah is talking to Jareth about entering the labyrinth, when she says "Don't you understand that I can't," Jareth is standing in front of a tall tree. But in the next shot, the tree has gone. There are just tree limbs and branches behind him, but the tree has disappeared.
Audio problem: In his throne room, Jareth starts to sing, "Dance, magic, dance..." In the overhead shot when they sing the words, "Put that magic spell on me," he kicks the little guy up, then in the next front shot when he sings the second line, "Jump, magic, jump," and just before and during which he throws Toby in the air, in all these shots either his lips do not reflect the words heard or his lips move and no sound is heard.
Visible crew/equipment: First in Sarah's father's bedroom, as Jareth holds and flits the crystal back and forth in his hand, then at his castle as Jareth holds the crystals while sitting in the window and in the scene with the drifting stone as Jareth holds one crystal, objects are reflected upside down within the spheres. Studio lamps and its lights are visible, as well as reflections other than Jareth and Sarah.
Audio problem: Having reached her house after running home in the rain, Sarah's stepmother stands on the porch and we hear her say, "Oh, really," but her mouth does not move at all.
Continuity: When Sarah first meets the Goblin King, she has on Camel colored semi-formal flat shoes, but when she starts the labyrinth, her shoes have changed to brown suede loafers. She didn't change her shoes beforehand.
Continuity: Sarah picks up the rocks that have rolled towards her, in order to save Ludo. The leaves in the corner area that the rocks are in are arranged differently in the close-ups and wide shots.
Continuity: When Sarah walks into the darkened bedroom, in the shots facing the double back doors the hanging light fixture over the crib, the mobile, and picture beside it are all visible. When Jareth appears, in the first shot facing him, the mobile hangs lower (note the archway), the picture is closer to the floral trim around the archway; and solely for Jareth's dramatic entrance, the light fixture is gone - though it should easily be visible in this shot, and the crib is now at an angle.
Continuity: In Sarah's fathers bedroom, the green chair that sits by the back doors changes position during the scenes, and the cushion and soft toy that sit on it often change their position as well.
Continuity: When Ludo calls the rocks in the Goblin city, there is then a wide shot of Sir Didymus standing by a house door, surrounded by soldiers. Between this wide shot, and the next closeup, the soldier's spears go from not being pointed at Didymus, to being pointed right close to him. The spears being pointed at him in the closeup also are different to the spears that belonged to the guards in front of him too (check the flags hanging at the end of the spears.)
Continuity: When Hoggle and Sarah fall out of the chute that leads to the bog of eternal stench, between shots, the amount and position of leaves on the ledge changes constantly.
Revealing: Numerous times you can see the 'metal' robot's metal armour and the spikes on the armour wobble like rubber. This is because the whole robot's armour is made of polyurethane foam.
Continuity: When Sarah sits down at her vanity table in her fake room, in a wide shot you can see her Labyrinth book laying on the table. The angle the book is laying at changes when Sarah picks it up in a closeup.
Revealing: Sarah looks at Hoggle in her vanity mirror and he says, "Well why didn't you say so?" As Sarah starts to stand up it is obvious where the two shots are edited together with her back to the camera, so that at the end of this "one" shot, Sarah's room is filled with her new friends. Her vest's back ties and blouse sleeves are different in the two shots that are edited together as one.
Continuity: At the gates to the Goblin City, when Hoggle jumps from the metallic robot, Sarah runs to his aid. In that overhead wide shot and in the following shots, her hair changes as she speaks with Hoggle.
Continuity: When Sarah is telling the story to Toby, she stands in front of the mirror, and puts Toby's stripy hat on. In one shot, she pulls it to the back of her head, but in the next shot, it's pulled down on her head, as normal.
Continuity: Sarah goes to pick up the fairy that dropped right by the wall. But in the next shot, you see Sarah stand up with the fairy in her hands, and she is now standing quite a way from the wall.
Continuity: When Sarah wakes up in the junkyard, there is a wide shot, then a closeup of Sarah holding the peach. Between the two shots, the way Sarah holds the peach changes.
Continuity: During the battle in the Goblin City, a Walking Cannon fires a shot at one of the rocks. When the rock shatters, the roof behind it and a jar at the right edge of the screen suddenly shift their positions - slightly but visibly.
Continuity: When Hoggle is taking Sarah out of the oubliette, the lamp he lit goes out quickly just as they exit; yet in the shot of Sarah immediately after she comes out of the doorway, we can see behind Sarah into the oubliette and the lamp is still lit.
Deliberate "mistake": When the rocks invade Goblin City, one Goblin runs into his home shouting, "I've had enough. I'm going to bed," in a close-up. His distinctive home and the one beside it, are the same homes seen near the large main gate, when Sir Didymus and the crazy riders squared off earlier (and other shots). However, in the close-up, things such as the long rope mounted to the pulley above the door disappear, and yet, pottery, baskets, etc., suddenly appear.
Continuity: When Sarah, Ludo and Hoggle wait for guards to run by, she says, "Be careful. Okay," and the houses around them are visible. Later, when the six Goblins are blasted up in the air, they are in the same area, but this time there are two large planks of wood mounted on the home's stone wall to their right, under the small semi-circular window.
Continuity: The house that Ambrosius runs into has a small metal pole with thick rope tied around it very loosely. However when Sir Didymus is at the door, telling him to unlock it, the rope is now tied around the metal much more securely and is differently positioned.
Continuity: When Sarah crosses the Bog of Eternal Stench, the bridge rails break, and then the bridge plank under her gives way and falls into the bog, while she clings to the tree limb. However, when Sir Didymus says, "It seemed solid enough," the left rail and the bridge plank are actually still intact.
Continuity: After Sarah finally asks Hoggle the right question, the doors to the labyrinth open, beside the flower vines on the wall, and the dirt ground between the doors is clear. In the following close-up, when Sarah begins to enter, the flower vines on the wall noticeably differ. Then when Ludo walks out and slams the doors, the ground between the doors is covered in leaves.
Continuity: When Sarah walks towards Toby's cot before pulling back the sheets, just before approaching it, there is a shot of the cot. Then in the next shot it shows Sarah reach down then pull back the covers. Between the two shots the covers and pillow have moved and changed their position.
Continuity: When everyone from the labyrinth fills Sarah's room, Didymus says "I say, does anyone want to play a game of scrabble" and he has a party hat pulled well over his head. but in the next shot the party hat isn't pulled over his head, but is sitting on top of his hat, which allows the shot of it falling off of his head.
Continuity: As Sarah runs up to the porch, her mom says "Oh, really!" and she is holding some clothes below her waist. But in the next shot, she is holding them up by her waist.
Audio problem: When in the Goblin's house, Sarah chucks a plate of food in a Goblins face and says 'Hungry?' but her mouth doesn't move when she says this.
Continuity: When the Junk Lady says, "Well, what about this? This is not junk," as she hands Sarah the music box, Sarah turns in her chair, brings the music box close to look at it and the toys piled behind Sarah are higher than her head. After a close-up of the Junk Lady, in the next shot of Sarah, she is still bringing the music box a bit closer to her as she turns in her chair and the toys piled behind her are now only up to her shoulders.
Continuity: After Jareth throws the snake at Sarah, the Goblins around the bedroom laugh, and the one at the headboard ducks behind the pillow changing the pillow's position. Yet when Sarah says, "But I have to have my brother back," the pillow is back in the exact same position, with the same creases as before the Goblin moved it.
Continuity: When Hoggle and Sarah climb out of the large pot, the table underneath the pot has dirt on it. The amount/position of the dirt changes in the following shots.
Revealing: After climbing up the ladder, Hoggle stands up in the large pot, then Sarah climbs out in the foreground and Hoggle is seen raising his body, to climb out of the pot too. However as Sarah lifts her leg out of the pot, Hoggle is seen lowering his body back into the pot. In the next shot he is beside the pot as if he just climbed out.
Continuity: When Sarah first sits by the worm, and the worm says "'Allo" you can see that all the bricks of the wall are the same dark brown colour. But a bit later in one wide shot when he says "Yeah at's right" the brick behind the worm has changed to a dark yellow colour.
Continuity: In Sarah's father's bedroom, the rocking horse that sits near the back doors is seen throughout the shots in the bedroom and its positions changes several times.
Revealing: Sarah walks over to Ludo as he hangs upside down. Just before she says, "Now, stop that," she takes a step back as Ludo growls and shakes his head around. On his upside down scalp inside his fur a metal clamp on the black material under the fur is visible.
Continuity: In the tunnel as the cleaners approach, Sarah and Hoggle fall with the door as it slams to the ground near the ladder. The bottom of the ladder is surrounded by the broken door as well as other debris. When Hoggle and Sarah climb the ladder, one of the ladder rungs fall and there is a shot of the bottom of the ladder, but the debris at the bottom differs from the previous shot.
Audio problem: When Sarah meets Hoggle, while exterminating fairies, she says, "You're horrible," but her lips do not move.
Continuity: In the park, Sarah looks up when she hears thunder and in the front shot the headpiece ribbons are in front of her left shoulder. In the next back shot both sides are behind her shoulders, yet in the following front shot the left ones are in front again.
Continuity: When Hoggle jumps off the huge metallic robot, we see him land parallel to the foot of the robot as he lies on the ground. When Sarah runs to him, Hoggle's head is now right up against the foot, while he lies there. Yet in the next shot as Sarah asks if he's alright, still lying on the ground, he is not near the giant foot.
Continuity: When Sarah reaches Jareth's throne room, before she says, "Oh no," there is a wide shot of the room. When she says, "That's the only way he ..." things in the room have changed position.
Visible crew/equipment: At the Bog of Eternal Stench Ludo summons the rocks with his howling, and we then see one shot of a rock rolling forward. You can see a thick wire attached the centre of the rock, pulling it forward to make it roll.
Plot hole: Throughout the film Sarah's clothes stay very clean, although she frequently falls into dirty places, such as the oubliette and the chute.
Continuity: When Sarah is finally back in her room, she sees Ludo, Sir Didymus and Hoggle in the reflection of her vanity mirror. Her white dress that lies on her bed changes position when seen on the real bed, the close-ups in the reflection and the semi close-ups in the reflection.
Continuity: The length of Sarah's nails change considerably between certain shots in this film. For example, after biting the peach she puts her hand on the tree and her nails are short. Upon returning to her home she runs up to Toby, strokes his face and her nails are long. Then, in her room, when she holds the clipping, puts it and the music box, etc. in her vanity drawer, her nails are short again.
Revealing: In many shots throughout the film it is very obvious when it is a blue screen, plate and/or matte painting shot, by the area around the subjects and/or the subjects' appearance or disappearance onscreen. Some examples can be found with the Fireys and Sarah, during the Chilly Downs scene, and later, when Sarah breaks the glass with the chair, part of her face disappears when she stands with the glass behind her.
Continuity: Towards the end of the "Chilly Down" scene, the firey with the long thin mouth and ponytail on the top of his head jumps on Sarah. The others gather around her. Then the chubby firey says, "Come on, Come on!" calling over another firey; however, all five fireys are in the shot around Sarah. The following shot is of the top half of a firey bouncing over on his hands, but this is the same firey that already jumped on Sarah and is still on her.
Continuity: When Sarah wakes up in the junkyard, she the converses with Agnes the Junk Lady, and then Agnes gives her Lancelot. During this scene between different shots, the junk which is piled behind and around Sarah noticeably changes.
Continuity: In the Goblin City, the guards emerge from behind the walls, equipped with weapons and ready to fight. Sarah, Hoggle and Ludo run away, but Sir Didymus turns and yells "Right, charge!" But in the next shot Ambrosius cowardly runs away. Between these two shots, the actual clothes themselves which hang from the line above them change, and their positions differ as well.
Continuity: Hoggle wears a small orange jacket, and a brown leather belt (which has many objects attached to it, such as keys, a pipe, etc.,) which is attached to at the top, on the right side of his jacket, which runs diagonally across his body.
However when Hoggle says "Me? I wouldn't go either way," the whole top portion of his body is visible, and you can clearly see that the leather belt is not attached at the top of his jacket. It seems to have gone in this shot. However after he says "You know your thing, you take to many things for granted," the belt is now back, reattached to the top of his jacket.
Continuity: When Sarah arrives home with Merlin, she talks to her mom for a while. The white straps that hang down from her flower headband alternate from hanging in front to behind her shoulders during the shots.
Continuity: When Sarah and Hoggle slip off the ledge, at the Bog of Eternal Stench, they land on Hoggle, causing him to fall on his butt in front of particular rock face. However, in the following shot, before Ludo stands to release Hoggle, he sits about five feet further down.
Continuity: When Sarah places Toby back in the crib, the lipped door jamb clearly has a strike plate. After she says, "I wish the goblins would come and take you away..." she shuts the light, and walks out. When Sarah turns around in the hallway to go back and check on Toby, there is no strike plate on the white door jamb - and it should be visible.
Continuity: When Hoggle says, "It's Hoggle. And don't say I didn't warn you," in the next shot Sarah begins walking down the path, and passes a particular piece of stone wall with mossy eyeballs (also visible in an earlier shot). Two shots later, after Hoggle slams the doors, Sarah, who is startled by the slam, is back at that piece of wall nearer the doors, and the stones and mossy eyeballs differ as well. She takes a moment, then starts walking again.
Visible crew/equipment: After just entering the labyrinth Sarah and Hoggle are talking. Hoggle says to Sarah "You know your problem? You take to many things for granted." As he says this, behind him you can see the blank, grey stage floor where they forgot to put the rusty gold colored set floor down, which matches the rest of the labyrinth floor. It isn't visible in any of the following or previous shots.
Revealing: When Sarah discovers Toby has gone from his cot, Goblins start moving about in her fathers room. The second goblin we see laughs, and jumps down from the top of her fathers four poster bed. As the goblin does this, you can see the shadow of a boom mic bob down onto the material that drapes from each poster of the bed.
Continuity: When Sarah leaves Toby's room, just after saying the Goblin wish, you can see two paintings hanging beside Sarah's bedroom door. They have a wooden frame, but when the shot changes, and Sarah walks towards her bedroom door, the paintings have changed, and the frame of the painting is now metal. Then when Sarah enters Toby's room again the paintings have changed back to the wooden framed ones. The bottom picture itself also changes. In the 1st shot there seems to be a bouqet of flowers but when Sarah is outside of the room the picture is of a long bare landscape.
Continuity: When Jareth first appears at the open bedroom doors, the branches and leaves are seen outside behind him on both sides of the doorway. As he and Sarah start to speak, the shrubbery changes between the following close-ups and semi close-ups of Jareth.
Revealing: Back in her room Sarah puts things away in her vanity drawer, including her music box. The diameter of the music box is greater than the height of the sides of the drawer, which would prevent the drawer from closing properly. On the white front of the vanity table above that drawer, the top lip is cut away to allow for the important shot of Sarah closing the drawer.
Visible crew/equipment: After Sarah calls out "Toby!" in the Escher stair room, she jumps off the ledge. She then drops downward and lands amongst a variety of stone objects that drift all around her. The lines that the stone objects hang from are seen.
Continuity: When Ludo is hanging upside down, while the nasty little guards taunt him, the line that is tied to the tree root is seen and the knot end is different throughout these shots.
Continuity: Depending on the angle of the shots, things on top of the changing table and its shelves behind Toby's crib change position or disappear. The string toy that hangs in Toby's crib changes and also changes position. The wicker hamper basket changes position and the clothes that hang from it change as well.
Continuity: When Sarah leaves her room, because she realises Toby has her teddy she leaves and swings her door open. But when she leaves Toby's room, her bedroom door is shut, and her parents couldn't shut it as they're out.
Visible crew/equipment: When Sarah and Hoggle slip off the ledge at the Bog of Eternal Stench, Ludo breaks their fall below. As they fall, in the wide shot, the lines holding Sarah and Hoggle are visible.
Revealing: When Sarah is trying to reach Toby while in the Escher-style room, there is a scene where Jareth is walking along (underneath where Sarah is standing), he does an 180-degree flip around the edge of the platform. If you look at Jareth's shadow, you can clearly see the shadow of a support bar pushing him up.
Continuity: When Didymus says "I say, does anyone want to play a game of scrabble" he has a staff in his right hand, and is holding it down by the side of Sarah's bed, but in the next shot he is holding the staff upright on top of Sarah's bed.
Continuity: When the goblins are roaming around and sneaking about in Sarah's father's bedroom, in one shot when we see a small, black, furry goblin jump out of the chest which sits at the end of the double-bed, the rocking horse, which sits next to the green chair, by the double doors, has actually disappeared. It's clearly back, once the owl has burst through the doors.
Continuity: When Sarah enters the replica of her bedroom in the junkyard, she has no lipstick on. As she is sitting at the vanity table, a fresh coat of red lipstick has been applied to her lips between shots. She does hold a tube in her hand, yet she never applies any. Then as the replica bedroom begins to collapse, it is apparent that there is now no lipstick on her lips.
Continuity: When Sarah arrives home, her hair is tied back in a barrette, with no loose hair hanging from it. As soon as she walks inside, there is suddenly a lot of loose hair which has fallen out of the barrette between shots.
Continuity: After Sarah rescues Ludo, she approaches the "two ugly characters" on the doors. In the close-up, as it pans from one door to the other, the vines that hang between the two doors differ from the previous and following shots.
Continuity: When the soldiers start to fall, as the rocks start rolling in the Goblin city, in one wide shot Didymus is laughing and has both hands at his chest, with no staff. Then in the following closeup of him saying "Next time surrender" his left hand his out by his side, holding his staff.
Continuity: When we first see the wiseman, he climbs into the chair, and Sarah runs over to him. In a wide shot the wiseman has both his arms resting on the arms of the chair, but in the next shot of him, his hands are in his lap.
Continuity: When Sarah meets the two guards, in a wide shot the blue guard says "One of them leads to the castle at the centre of the Labyrinth..." as he says this, the other red guard has his head sticking out from behind his shield. But in the next shot as the blue guard says "..and the other one leads to..." the red guard now has his head under the shield.
Continuity: When all of Sarah's friends from the Labyrinth fill her room, you can see that one of the Chilly's is on top of Sarah's canopy on her bed. In a wide shot the Chilly is hanging his head off of the canopy, but in the next closeup shot of him laughing his head is no longer hanging off it and is upright.
Continuity: When Sarah is sitting at her vanity table, in one shot she is holding her lipstick by her face. Then in the next shot she picks up her Labyrinth book. You can see the lipstick standing upright on her vanity table, but between those two shots Sarah didn't have enough time to put the lipstick down.
Continuity: When Sarah is dropped down by the hands, just after a pair said 'Would you like us to let go?' you can see some hands by the left of Sarah mouthing words but with nothing actaully being said.
Continuity: When Sarah approaches the empty crib, the pillow is semi-upright at the corner of the bars behind it and she pulls away the blankets letting most of the mattress show. However, as Jareth's shadow is seen on the floor entering the doorway, the blankets cover more of the mattress and the pillow is now flat and centered.
Continuity: When Sarah is running, just before she reaches the pond Hoggle is peeing in, you get a wide shot of her running. You can see that the Fairy spray beside Hoggle's feet is not there at that point, but appears a few shots later.
Revealing: When in the oubliette, Hoggle lights one candle, and it's flame seems to be able to light up the whole of the oubliette very brightly, much like studio lighting.
Continuity: When Sarah goes into Toby's room, and picks up Lancelot, she puts the teddy on her parents' bed next to her, then sits down. In the next shot, the teddy is behind her on the bed and it can be seen when she stands up.
Continuity: When Sarah first sees the two doorknockers, she walks straight past the doorknocker with the ring in his mouth. But in the next shot, she is standing next to Ludo. Then in the next shot she's in the corner, between the two doors, then beside Ludo again. She changes where she stands in almost every shot.
Revealing: It is obvious when the owl, that attacks Sarah, is a puppet and when it is a real owl, in consecutive shots. It is also obvious when the snake, that Jareth tosses at Sarah, is real and is a fake in subsequent shots. It is also very apparent when Sir Didymus' dog, Ambrosius, is a real Sheep Dog, or is a puppet Sheep Dog, in consecutive shots as well.
Continuity: Sir Didymus (riding Ambrosius) is in front of the building with the hammer sign in Goblin City, when he quickly rides away shouting, "No. Not that way!" He is at least three houses away from the building with the hanging hammer sign, when it cuts to the many Goblin guards chasing him. Then, in the third overhead shot, Sir Did rides past that same building with the hammer sign - and now things like the sharpening stone table, the cart with baskets, etc., differ.
Continuity: When Sarah is in Jareth's 'glass' bubble, as she lifts the chair in order to break the glass, the blue cushion has a perfectly straight seam, the cushion ties are tied to the back of the chair, and the wood underside of the chair is visible surrounded by the tubular frame. However, in the next shot as the chair goes through the glass, the blue cushion seam at the back is very crooked, the cushion tie is gone and the underside of the chair is completely different.
Audio problem: At the Bog of Eternal Stench, as they start to walks across the rocks in the bog, Didymus says "Steady, steady boy. Come on Ambrosius! Just close your eyes, and go!" His mouth doesn't move at all when this is said though.
Continuity: When Toby catches the crystal ball Jareth throws, Toby is sitting right by the edge of the stairs, Sarah then shouts 'Toby!' then in the next shot Toby is sitting further away from the stairs.
Visible crew/equipment: As Hoggle and Sarah climb the ladder after being chased by the cleaners, Hoggle says to Sarah 'I'm a coward, and Jareth scares me.' As he says this you can see a wire attached to him.
Continuity: Near Toby's crib there is table with a tea/coffee set with cups and other items on it. These things change their positions on the table in different shots. When Sarah holds Toby up high and asks the Goblins to take him away, when Sarah walks into the bedroom and says, "Toby, are you alright?" then when Sarah gasps at seeing the owl.
Continuity: When Sarah initially takes a bite out of the peach, the bite is completely different when she is lying on the trash heap and then in the following close-up when she sees the worm.
Continuity: Sarah awakens on the trash heap in the close-up and after she looks at the peach she is seen again on the pile of trash. Before the Junk Lady moves, the things around her are quite different in both shots.
Continuity: When Sarah and Hoggle run, as the cleaners race up the tunnel, Hoggle trips and Sarah helps pull him up. In the shot from behind Sarah holds his arm with her right hand and pushes on his back with her left hand. Yet in the consecutive shot facing the cleaners her left hand holds his hand as they begin to run.
Continuity: When the old hag hands Sarah her lipstick, the actual lipstick is sticking out of the tube. We see that it still is in the mirror shot too, but when it cuts back to Sarah the lipstick is no longer sticking out the end of the tube.
Continuity: During 'Dance Magic Dance,' when Jareth sings "Then baby said...," behind him, beside the large clock, there is an axe leaning against the wall. In the following overhead shot it has gone. In addition, a large dancing goblin, wearing an all black outfit appears in front of the large clock between the same two shots.
Visible crew/equipment: While falling through the well of hands that lead to the oubliette, wires are visible attached to Sarah. Mostly noticeably when one hand says "Would you like us to let go?" and as she is dropped, wires are seen attached to her arms.
Continuity: As Hoggle pushes the head of the big metallic robot off, it lands close to the left foot of the robot. But when the goblin is thrown out of the robot, the metal head is now by the right foot, nearer to the spikes.
Continuity: In her father's bedroom when Sarah says, "And the young girl was practically a slave," Lancelot is seen behind her on the bed as she gets up. Yet when Sarah says, "And she was hurt by the harsh words of her stepmother..." the bear is now at the edge of the bed.
Continuity: When Sarah's father talks to her when she is in her bedroom, there is a shot of the door and the walls at both sides. One wall can be seen in the reflection as Sarah sits at the vanity table in more than one shot. When Sarah runs out of her bedroom to retrieve Lancelot the walls are seen again. The position of certain things in all shots change or disappear altogether.
Audio problem: In Jareth's throne room, Sarah says, "That's the only way he could have gone," then says, "No! No!" Her lip movements do not match the words we hear.
Continuity: When Sarah first meets Hoggle, he's going for a pee in a pond. In one wide shot, the water in the pond is moving vigorously, but in the next wide shot, the water has pretty much settled.
Visible crew/equipment: Just after Jareth kicks the furry little creature way up towards the camera, he sings, "Jump, magic, jump..." To his left, when the little guy 'leaps' high into the air, in front of Jareth's throne, the wires attached to both sides of his shoulders are visible.
Visible crew/equipment: Sarah runs to the edge of one of the platforms in the Escher-style room, and sees Toby. Just before she jumps, as she runs to the edge, a safety wire can briefly be seen attached behind her.
Continuity: Through the song "Chilly Down," a tree branch is seen, as one of the Fireys hangs on it. This branch is short in close ups, but much longer in wide shots.
Revealing: Just after they have all entered the 'Goblin City' and the giant robot materialises from the two gates, Sir Didymus's dog, Ambrosius (the real one - not the puppet) bolts and runs off towards the "metal" spikes. As the dog gets to the spikes they move and wobble - unlike metal would.
Revealing: When Sarah takes the chair to break Jareth's glass bubble, the flower adorned lace topped table is seen. Then as she breaks the glass the table is visible once again, however, the way the tablecloth lies and the flowers, cups, etc., are all positioned differently.
Continuity: When Sarah shouts, "Quick, this way!" and then Sir Didymus shouts, "No, not that way!" the hanging sign with the hammer hangs crookedly by only one chain. However, two shots later when Sir Didymus shouts, "You're going the wrong way!" the sign hangs properly from two chains. Then later, when the three Samurai Goblins jump in front of Sarah and the rest, the sign's chain is broken once again.
Revealing: When David Bowie throws a crystal ball into the corridor it is the start of the cleaner scene. The frontdrill of the cleaner appears in the distance. This is animated as it rotates fast. Once the actual device is visible the drill rotates in fact fairly slowly.
Continuity: When Sarah and friends are confronted by the massive metal robot, smoke drifts out from behind it. Then in the next shot, the smoke has totally disappeared, and more smoke then starts to drift out once again.
