Continuity mistake: When the crew are raiding Roger's house, they approach the door and the handle is on the left. One guy kicks open the door - from inside the house the door swings open the opposite way. (01:03:30)

Continuity mistake: When Ethan is awaiting Denzel's son to open the security gate, the Beretta has a lanyard attached to the butt of the gun and around his right wrist. When the next shot shows Ethan entering the apartment, the lanyard is gone and the gun is in the other hand. (01:36:40)

Visible crew/equipment: When Jake is holding Alonzo at gunpoint in Sara's bedroom, the boom microphone appears for a few frames (immediately after Alonzo says, "It's not what you know. It's what you can prove"). (01:39:00)

Visible crew/equipment: When Ethan Hawke starts to chase Denzel Washington onto the roof of his wife's apartment, he climbs through the window. As Hawke is going through the window, you can clearly see a large stage light on a tripod, in the room behind him. (01:41:25)

Continuity mistake: After Jake jumped over to the railing the gun is on the floor, but then he has it in his hand. (01:42:47)

Continuity mistake: Towards the end, Denzel drives his car into 2 cars trying to get Ethan off the hood. After that scene ends you see Denzel driving the same car and the front and rear of the car look nothing like they did when he was crashing into the cars.

Continuity mistake: When Hawke and Washinton stop their car on the bridge, Hawke leaves the engine running. When he gets back in the car you can hear him start the engine before they drive away.

Continuity mistake: After visiting the Sandman's Wife's house Harris's car is shot at and two bullet holes are made in the rear window. A couple of scenes later the car is seen driving through "the jungle" and the window is as good as new.

Continuity mistake: When Denzel and Hawke are interrogating Snoop Dogg in the back of the store and Denzel is emptying the rounds out of Snoop's gun, in one shot the magazine that Denzel is holding is empty, yet in the next shot of Denzel there is another bullet in the magazine.

Continuity mistake: When Denzel steals the money from the drug dealer's house, the neighboorhood gangs fire 3 bullets into the back window. As he drives away and is turning corners, the bullet holes change position and the cracks leading from the holes change from long to short about 5 times.

Continuity mistake: In the very end, Hawke parks his car in front of his home, and when he is opening the door to get out of the car, you can clearly see another car stopping behind his, and someone getting off. In the next shot, there's nobody in the driveway and Hawke simply walks to the main door of his house. [A valid mistake, but here's the reason: This is due to a change in the ending. In the original one, the three bosses (Tom Berenger and the others) follow him to his home and ask for an explanation about the "missing" million dollars. This dialogue was eliminated, but not the shot in which Ethan Hawke parks his car very aware that he's been followed.]

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie where Jake is chasing Alonzo, you see Alonzo jump from the roof to the railing on the other side. Jake jumps from the roof too and you see him dangling on the railing as he drops his gun on the floor. A couple shots later you see Jake drop his gun again as he tries to get up.

Suggested correction: You can see Jake pick his gun back up before he drops it again.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film (in "The Jungle"), Alonzo is on the floor and puts on his LAPD badge (this is the belt-clip style, but attached to a chain). When you first see the badge, it is the traditional LAPD badge. After Ethan Hawke's character shoots Alonzo in the rear-end (with the 1911 .45ACP) as he reaches for the .38-Special/.357-Magnum revolver on the road - Ethan Hawke rips off the chain and badge. A close-up of the Detective badge reveals that it has changed, and now has the city emblem in the center of the badge (similar to Police Officer badge of Ethan's in the beginning of the film).

Continuity mistake: Towards the end when the Russians start to box in DW's car, he backs into the car behind him to escape and his headlights go out. Then when they show his car after he is dead, the headlights are back on.

Continuity mistake: In the scene at the end where Ethan Hawke jumps on Denzel's car the car gets bashed front, back, and the windshield is shattered. Later, when Denzel stops at the traffic lights before he is killed, the car looks in much better shape.

Continuity mistake: When Jake Hoyt is going up to Alonzo's home, he is stopped by three guys outside, who asks him what he is doing there. The camera angle keeps changing, and the space between two of the three guys keeps changing from large to small.

Continuity mistake: When Denzel and Ethan are fighting near the end, Ethan breaks the windshield on the car Denzel is in. Depending on the camera angle, the cracks in the windshield never look the same.

Deliberate mistake: Not a mistake but the blender and CD player names are altered a little. The Sony CD player is Suny and the Oster blender is a Foster.

Revealing mistake: The streets and the sidewalks were always wet, despite the fact that it's sunny the whole time.

Continuity mistake: Alonzo has a habit of constantly cocking his .45ACP Smith & Wessons. One would assess that he carries both with a round in the chamber at all times, in order to draw from his shoulder holster and fire. The amount of times he "charges" or cycles his firearms to chamber a round, suggests that he often unloads them, or carries one with a chamber empty, and one with a loaded chamber. However this does not prove to be the case during the shooting incident after robbing Macy Gray's character.

Alonzo Harris: It's not what you know, it's what you can prove.

Question: Why didn't the gangbangers kill Alonzo at the end? Did he just get away with no trouble? I thought they were going to kill him, because he was hated in the neighbourhood.

Answer: They grew sick and tired of Alonzo's arrogance and probably decided he wasn't worth the effort. Alonzo was however killed by the Russian Mafia because Jake was told that Alonzo killed one of their couriers and had to pay them one million dollars by midnight or he would be killed himself.
