Mistake Continuity: At the end of the movie, when the Mystery team are consoling each other at the end of the game, the keeper is in the net, after he had been pulled and then stayed off when Mystery tried to score the equaliser.

Mistake Factual error: In the end credits, the year is given as MCMXCVIX. This is not a correct Roman numeral. It should be MCMXCIX.

Mistake Continuity: When Johnny comes into the Mayor's Office to meet about his place in the Saturday Game, when he sits down there is a large black paper clamp/clip on the desk lying flat, but in the very next shot it is standing on it's side. The Mayor has had his hands folded through the scene and could not have moved it.

Mistake Continuity: In the opening scene with Russell Crowe and his character's two sons, note the youngest boy's bangs. In the first take they are centered in a clump in the middle of his forehead, the scene cuts to Russell Crowe briefly and when it comes back on the boy, his bangs are all spaced out with gaps across his forehead.

Mistake Continuity: When Russell Crowe first pulls in front of Hank Azaria his car's quite angled on the road as he gets out. When we see a wide shot after they finish talking, the car's now much straighter without anyone having gone near it.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Right after Stevie and Marla attempt sex in his snowplow, the camera cuts to Marla buttoning up 3 buttons on her sweater which takes less than 8 seconds. However, in that same amount of time, making little or no sound to support his actions, Stevie manages to put on his shirt, zip up his pants, pull back up his coveralls, re-Velcro them closed perfectly all the way up to his chest, pull up and reposition the suspenders to the coveralls and be sitting calmly with both hands on his thighs when the camera cuts back to him. In less than 8 seconds, all silently and not moving the cab to the snowplow at all, no way.

Mistake Continuity: When Mary Jane and Skank are having sex they knock over a number of items on the stove, including a large bottle of red sauce. However, that bottle was not on the shelf or anywhere near the stove in the preceding shot that panned the stove area.

Mistake Continuity: During the scene where John and Donna are on the pond discussing the decision to build boards around the pond for sponsorship, it is snowing noticeably much harder when the camera is on John compared to when it is on Donna, where the snow is barely visible.

Mistake Continuity: When Marla's mother enters her bedroom to see why Marla is so upset, note the blue, yellow and white plaid blanket on the chair by the radio. In the first show it is hanging uneven with a portion folded back over, they cut to Marla for just a few seconds and when they cut back to the blanket it had changed and is now folded perfectly on the chair.

Mistake Continuity: After the game is over and the Mystery players skate back to their goal, in one shot Connor Banks' jersey, the back of it, has a lot of white from the ice and snow on the back. However in the next shot the back of his jersey is totally clean.

Mistake Continuity: When the sports reporter guy gets drunk and get stopped by Russell Crowe, the Sherrif, he vomits by the side of the road. But when we next go to a long shot, no evidence of vomit can be seen.
