Mistakes

When Tom Hanks comes to visit Meg Ryan, when she's sick, he brings her flowers. He goes to the kitchen to put the daisies in a vase, and on the table Meg Ryan is sitting at there is a runner neatly laid out. Then when Tom Hanks brings the vase over to the table, and they converse back and forth, the camera zooms out to show the whole room. The runner is suddenly bunched up and neither of them have been on that side of the table. See more...

Entry Meg Ryan's bookstore is called "The Shop Around the Corner." This is a reference to the 1940 Jimmie Stewart/Margaret Sullivan movie of that name, upon which "You've Got Mail" was loosely based.
Entry In the scene where Tom Hanks is visiting Meg Ryan, she is in bed and he is sitting on the edge of the bed talking to her. Right before he gets up for a moment to pull up the covers over her, (now, turn the sound up for this one) he actually passes gas. You can hear the little "pop", he starts to grin and then probably realizes that the director is going to just continue on with the scene, so his grin fades and the scene goes on. I replayed this over and over. It really happened.
