X-Men (2000) - 43 mistakes

Continuity: When Wolverine crashes into the tree knocked over by Sabertooth, notice that the entire front of the truck gets completely folded up and the windshield breaks into a thousand pieces. In the next frame, Wolverine gets thrown through the unbroken windshield and the front of the truck is practically undamaged...

Continuity: When young Magneto is struggling with the guards at the concentration camp, the father's star switches from one side of his chest to the other.

Visible crew/equipment: After Toad spits his slime at Jean Grey he falls to the floor. You can see the tether that was holding him in mid air.

Visible crew/equipment: Right after the scene where Sabretooth dispatches the Liberty Island guard, the camera switches to a head on shot of Magneto's boat ferrying the torch.  As the camera moves upward, you can distinctly see the head of someone crouching down next to Mystique as she captains the boat and it is actually the guard that was the boat pilot.

Visible crew/equipment: Just before Sabretooth grabs Storm at the train station he swats a guy aside who was standing in line behind Storm. You can clearly see a wire attached to the guy to yank him off-frame.

Revealing: In the middle of the film when Magneto goes to get Rogue from inside the train, he opens the train up, and if you look behind him you can see the roof of the studio.

Continuity: Close to the middle when Senator Kelly hangs over the edge of the cliff face, Magneto pulls away the metal bars and crosses his hands/fingers twice.

Visible crew/equipment: In one scene Magneto makes two police cars fly up into the air. Then in the shot when they come back down a thick wire is visible, attached to the bottom of the car pulling it down

Visible crew/equipment: The camera is visible in Cyclops' glasses when he is in Logan's room and says, "Oh, and Logan: stay away from my girl."

Revealing: The metal bar wrapped around Storm's neck in the Statue of Liberty is noticeably wrinkled. Obviously a painted strip of foam rubber.

Continuity: When Magneto discovers Senator Kelly has got out of his barred window, he then leaves the room, out of an opening he made in the barred door. As she leaves, between three shots the amount of bars that are bent on either side of the opening actually differs.

Continuity: Right after Wolverine slices the tip off one of the Statue of Liberty's prongs, he strikes a dramatic pose: left arm cocked at his chest, right arm extended. In the next shot, his right arm is at his shoulder and his left is in front.

Continuity: When Mystique reveals herself to Senator Kelly on the helicopter, her blue body is appearing and it shows Senator Kelly watching for a few seconds, but when it shows Mystique again, the blue body thing continues from the part it left off at. It should have been to her legs at the rate it was going at before.

Continuity: After the guy comes at Wolverine with a knife, Wolverine holds him against a wooden post. His jacket is off his shoulders after being pushed against the post, but when Wolverine slices the shotgun in half the jacket is back on his shoulders.

Continuity: When Rogue is seen for the first time, her hand is moving up photographs on the wall, and if you look closely there are some kind of red poppies when she reaches the end, yet when it cuts to another shot a bit further away, her finger is a lot further down the wall from the red poppy/flower.

Continuity: When Mystique and Wolverine are fighting, Mystique lifts up a chain link door and Wolverine cuts through it with his claws. It splits and the two pieces go separate ways, yet in the following shot the door is on the floor near Wolverine with only one side cut.

Continuity: When Cyclops and Storm are in the train station, Storm is held up by Sabretooth, Cyclops spots this and starts to walk over to help. He stretches his arms out between a lot of people to push two people out the way, yet when the shot changes to Toad's POV all the people around him are at least two to three feet away from him.

Continuity: At the start when Rogue walks into the bar, when she walks towards the cage, note all the things around her from the camera's perspective (which is from behind her): the wooden plank in front of her which she walks around, and the burning can to the left of the screen. When the camera cuts to the front, the wooden plank is not there and neither is the burning can (now to the right of the screen).

Visible crew/equipment: In Toad's final scene of the movie, when he is beginning to fight Storm, he leaps into the air onto the balcony railing. If you look at the back of his belt, his wire is very, very obviously visible. There are several times within the movie when Toad or Storm has a wire showing, but none so obvious as that one.

Continuity: When Senator Kelly gets out of his limo and waves to the crowd, in the first shot, he moves to stand in front of the door, yet in the following shot he is still behind the door.

Continuity: Just after Sabertooth has dropped the Senator into the water, the mutated Senator pops out of the water. In the first shot, he is facing the boy, but in the next shot he has his back to the boy, then facing the boy again. Also, when he pops out the water he is only a few feet away from the boy's yellow boat, yet in another shot he is much farther from the boat.

Continuity: The direction Magnetos helmet faces as it sits on his desk in his lair constantly changes between shots.

Continuity: When Wolverine and Rogue are in Wolverines truck, just prior to the crash, we see them driving near huge trees with thick leaves that can't be seen through. Yet when Rogue says the line "You really should wear your seatbelt", the view out her window shows a handful of trees that one can through for a mile.

Continuity: When Senator Kelly meets Magneto for the first time, it's outside and cold. When you see Kelly his breath shows blowing to the left of the screen. But when you get the reverse angle of Magneto and Mystique their breath also goes off to the left of the screen. It should be blowing to the right.

Audio problem: When Rogue is riding in Wolverine's truck and he gives her the beef jerky, you can hear her lips smacking as she eats, but she is actually chewing with her mouth closed.

Continuity: When Wolverine has just walked into Xavier's office for the first time, a girl picks up her book then runs towards Wolverine. Her left hand is on her bag, but in the following shot when Wolverine looks over his shoulder, her left hand is now on the left strap of the bag.

Continuity: In the Statue of Liberty scene just after Wolverine, Storm Cyclops and Jean go through the metal detectors, they walk off and watch in the background, you can see Wolverine walk past Cyclops yet in the following shot he is walking past again.

Revealing: When Storm is using her powers to blow Toad out of the Statue of Liberty there are things swirling around and blowing, but a rack of T-shirts doesn't move.

Continuity: When Logan is in bed in Xavier's mansion, Rogue walks in and tries to wake him. When Jean says, "Scott, grab a pillow," Rogue is still facing in Logan's direction, then it cuts and she is now facing Storm.

Continuity: Just after the soldier hits the young Magneto with his gun, the guy on the left is holding him and he turns away looking at the ground (probably so he knows where to fall). Yet in the following shot, the boy is looking up on top of the guy who is facing up.

Continuity: When Storm and Cyclops are in the train station, and Toad whips Cyclops goggles off, he punches a hole through the ceiling of the train station behind him, yet the hole changes from behind him to above Storm between shots.

Continuity: Close to the beginning of the film when Rogue is in a classroom with other students, she has two books in front of her, yet in a few shots later the books change position on the table.

Audio problem: Just before Cyclops shoots his beam which breaks the toad-slime off of Jean Grays face, he says "Don't move," however HIS MOUTH doesn't move.

Audio problem: After Rogue was stabbed through the chest by Logan, she is sitting on the bench outside. Bobby/Mystique walks up to her from behind. Rogue says "Bobby" but her lips say "Hi".

Continuity: In his truck, Wolverine is smoking a cigar while the window is rolled up. But when he stops after hearing a noise, the window is now rolled down. Then the window is a quarter way up as he gets out of his truck.

Continuity: In the Statue of Liberty, Cyclops reaches up to his visor with his left hand and blasts away the door that was trapping him. Yet from behind he lifting up his right hand.

Continuity: When Rogue sits at the bar, as the bartender cleans a cup, a metal ashtray appears beside Rogues glass of water between shots.

Continuity: When the police rush into the Statue of Liberty, a cop stands over a Statue Museum guard. In one shot the guard is on the floor with his left arm outstretched, but in the following overhead shot the arm is underneath him.

Continuity: At the beginning, when Storm and Cyclops are standing behind Sabretooth, the camera cuts to Cyclops. He raises his right hand to shoot his red beam at Sabretooth, but when the shot cuts to a wider shot he has his right hand by his side.

Continuity: In the Statue of Liberty, when Toad has shot his slime at Jean Grey's face, we see Cyclops shoot his optic beam to free himself from the room he was trapped in. Then he rushes to Jean's aid. If you look closely you can see that the gloves he was wearing, as part of his costume, are no longer there when he takes the slime off of Jean's face.

Continuity: The chain Mystique wraps around Wolverine's wrists during their fight scene near the end of the movie mysteriously disappears shortly after that moment.

Revealing: When Logan/Wolverine and Mystique are fighting in the Statue of Liberty, she throws a metal gate at him, which he cuts with his claws. If you watch in slomo you can clearly see that the gate is made of rubber, and bends when he hits it with his claws.

Continuity: During the final scene with Xavier and Magneto playing chess, there is a pawn missing from the board after Xavier leaves and Magneto pushes over his King.
