Directed by Victor Fleming, starring Bert Lahr, Billie Burke, Frank Morgan, Jack Haley, Judy Garland, Margaret Hamilton, Ray Bolger (add more)
Please note: There is NO hanging in the background of the Wizard of Oz. Much like the "ghost" in Three Men and a Baby, it's just plain rubbish. Click here for details.
Plot hole: The Tin Man says he was frozen when "...I was chopping that tree... and right in the middle of a chop I rusted solid. I've been that way ever since." But when Dorothy and the Scarecrow find him, he's standing straight up with his legs together, looking straight ahead, with his axe held up with one hand. What kind of chopping position is that?
Other: As the Wizard is pulling his curtain closed, he says the famous, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain," in a loud, booming voice. But he's turned 180 degrees away from his microphone, which we see a second later needs to be right in front of his mouth to make the booming voice effect.
Revealing: When the doorman initially refuses to let Dorothy and friends into the Emerald City, they protest, saying the Good Witch of the North sent her; they show him the ruby slippers as proof. As the camera pans down to the slippers, look at the yellow brick road Dorothy is standing on - it is flat and looks as though it was simply painted.
