Please note: There is NO hanging in the background of the Wizard of Oz. Much like the "ghost" in Three Men and a Baby, it's just plain rubbish. Click here for details.

Mistake Revealing: As the Tin Man busts down the Witch's door with his ax if you look closely you'll see a slight edit in the film right before he takes his last swing. What they did was unlock the door before the last swing so it would open. You can see the dead bolt retracted as the door swings open.

Mistake Other: In the shot after the Wicked Witch throws fire down at them they all look up at her in the wrong direction.

Mistake Revealing: The Wicked Witch throws her hour glass at them and it's guided down to the floor by a wire. If you look closely before it hits the floor sparks start up around it and after it hits it doesn't move or roll, but just sits there.

Mistake Plot hole: When the Gales' house lands in Munchkinland, Dorothy picks up Toto and glances around the house. She looks right out the window. Wouldn't she have noticed that she wasn't in Kansas then, before she got to the door?

Mistake Continuity: As he holds the Wizard's balloon, the Tin Man has his heart shaped clock attached to his chest at the sixth rivet. The next time we see him several seconds later it's attached to the third rivet.

Mistake Continuity: The house we see in the cyclone has all of it's windows intact. When it lands they're all out.

Mistake Continuity: When the Tin Man is attacked by six flying monkeys they take away his ax. Several seconds later he has it again.

Mistake Continuity: Talking to the Wizard the Scarecrow says, "What about the heart you promised Tin Man …" and the position of the characters changes between shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Toto escapes, he runs up to the three putting the Scarecrow back together and the Tin Man has nothing in his left hand. In the next shot the ax appears in his hand.

Mistake Continuity: As Dorothy balances on the pigsty Zeke feeds the pigs. The bucket he passes by on his right is smooth without any ridges on its sides and the bucket he picks up from the bench has a visible indentation about one inch below the rim. He empties the first bucket than picks up the second, which shouldn't have an indentation around it but does.

Mistake Other: A shiny snap on the Lion's left foot can be seen gleaming in the stage lights as he says, "I hope my strength holds out" on the side of the mountain.

Mistake Continuity: As they all leave the poppy field the artificial snow has been neatly swept off the Yellow Brick road, and all traces of the snow on the ground are gone in the next shot.

Mistake Continuity: As the Cowardly Lion chases him, Toto runs off the Yellow Brick road into the bushes twice.

Mistake Continuity: Just before Aunt Em and the others go into the storm cellar there are two glass jugs on top of the shelf on the right of their back door. When we see the spot again a few seconds later as Dorothy stands there the jugs are gone. They're not on the floor either.

Mistake Continuity: When they all start to sing, "Lions and Tigers and Bears" Dorothy's arms are by her sides. In the next shot her arms are linked with the other two.

Mistake Continuity: Dorothy's house is outside of the tornado when we first see it up in the air. Then they are immediately inside the tornado.

Mistake Revealing: Right after Dorothy slaps the lion, there is a green smudge on her arm. Looks like the witch's makeup.

Mistake Continuity: When the Tin Man crowns the Lion with the broken flower pot, he places the crown over the right ear, but in the next shot the crown is over the left ear.

Mistake Continuity: Dorothy sloppily puts some oil in the shoulder joint and in front of the elbow of the Tin Man after he does his song and dance "If I only had a heart". In the next shot it's gone.

Mistake Continuity: When the Wicked Witch tells Nikko "throw that basket in the river and drown him" his feet can be seen resting near her book of spells. In the next shot we see the book of spells back where it originally was to the right of the lamp.
