Directed by Victor Fleming, starring Bert Lahr, Billie Burke, Frank Morgan, Jack Haley, Judy Garland, Margaret Hamilton, Ray Bolger

Please note: There is NO hanging in the background of the Wizard of Oz. Much like the "ghost" in Three Men and a Baby, it's just plain rubbish. Click here for details.

Edit

Mistake Continuity: As the four enter the tower where the Wicked Witch is eventually melted, we see guards and steps on the left of the tower. When seen from above the entrance that the guards use is on the right of the tower. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: After she watches the Wicked Witch "melt", Dorothy holds the pail in her hands. She never walks away but if you look closely the pail just disappears from the scene, never to return or be seen again. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: At first the Tin Man starts chopping the top part of the Witch's door with his ax and two shots later he's chopping about two feet lower, near the handle. If you look closely when he eventually gets the door open, the top part has not been touched. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: Dorothy says to the Good Witch, "Will you help me? Can you help me?" and Toto goes from facing the camera to facing the other way between shots. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: When the Tin Man is levitated and falls to the ground the metal covering his left leg is crumpled up. When we see him again from behind as the flying monkeys attack, the metal covering his leg has never been bent. The metal on his lower back has also been repaired since the fall. Mistake Visible crew/equipment: The Wicked Witch looks at them in the Haunted Forest through her crystal ball and the wires holding Nikko's wings can be seen as they flop around. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: In the Wicked Witch's room, she puts Toto in Dorothy's basket which now has a lid on both sides of it. Later when the boys come to rescue her, Dorothy walks over toward the hourglass, and picks up the same basket and it now has no lids on it (like earlier in the movie). (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: As the Wicked Witch throws her hour glass at them we see behind her as she stands on the balcony, and her broomstick is definitely not anywhere near her. As she runs down the stairs, it's in her hand. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: After the Wicked Witch turns the hourglass over and leaves, Dorothy is crying and has wet spots on her dress from the tears. In the next shot her dress is dry. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: The Tin Man starts chopping the Witch's door and it's not the same one we just saw three shots before. The wood is a different color and the dark metal brace has been polished in the close-up. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: Miss Gulch rides away on her bike and Toto jumps directly off the back onto the dirt road. There should be tire marks on the dirt where he falls directly behind the bike, but there aren't. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: When the Wicked Witch Tries to take the Ruby slippers from Dorothy it's obvious in the shot from behind that her right sock is pulled higher than her left. In the next shot there both even. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: Dorothy says to herself, "Someplace where there isn't any trouble". If you look closely her hair is blowing in the pre-tornado Kansas wind. In the next shot it isn't. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Continuity: As the Wicked Witch puts her flaming broomstick on the Scarecrow, look closely at the Tin Man. His chest dent that we saw several shots earlier on the left side of his costume, has been dented out. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: The seams in the floorboard under the Haunted Forest set can be seen several times under the leaves. The best is in the close-ups of Toto. (Time) Submitted by ????

Edit

Screen shot Deliberate "mistake": There are two actresses playing Dorothy (and two dogs playing Toto) as she opens the door to Oz. The first is a stand-in wearing a dull colored dress in order to make it look black and white. After she opens the door and moves out of the way, Judy Garland is who we actually see walking through. Look at the different pleats on the two dresses. (Time) Submitted by ????
