Plot hole: Why was an F-18 even sent to look for the helicopter anyway? Krill was the only one on the ship at the time that knew who was really on the chopper, the crew only knew about Jordan Tate, and the captain believes it's supposed to be a surprise for him so he's not calling anyone, so who sent the F-18?

Factual error: Early in the movie a F/A 18 is shot down by the Phalanx CIWS. At the time this movie was made, "Block A" models (shown in the film) could only engage targets that are head-on or close to it. It cannot track and engage a sideways moving target in the manner than it did.

Factual error: After taking the bridge and continuing down to kill the ranking officer, men are ordered to seal a door with a blow torch used for cutting metal, not welding.

Other mistake: When Seal Team 5 was sent to the Missouri, according to the admiral, they were aboard a CH53E. The helicopter they were shot down in was a CH46.

Plot hole: When Ryback calls in to Admiral Bates and his people the first time he gives the size of the terrorist force at about 30. Now Ryback may be a badass SEAL but he is definitely not the best with numbers. 30 people including Krill would not be enough at all to run the operations of the ship including running the bridge, cutting the pieces necessary for the crane, running the engine room, not to mention all the people patrolling the ship that are looking for him after he has already taken out at least 5 of their men. So if they're getting this plan done, they're doing it with a hell of a lot more than 30 people.

Suggested correction: Ryback is only going off what Jordan said about the helicopter being full. A CH-46 can only hold around 22 people including the crew. So his estimates were actually high. This is more of a plot hole for the movie since there is obviously more than that killed throughout the movie.

Other mistake: When the band is playing in the mess-hall you hear the drums playing along. When Ryback enters the mess-after after the take over, no drums are on stage.

Continuity mistake: At the party, you can see the cook standing next to the stage in one shot. Then, you can see him slicing a piece of meat on a table nowhere near the stage. Then, in the next shot, he's back next to the stage. Not enough time in-between shots to move the distance that he did.

Visible crew/equipment: As Stranix follows Cmdr. Krill out of the hatchway, he looks around. As he does, the camera crew and boom mike man are reflected in his shades.

Movie Nut

Factual error: When Ryback uses a cutting torch to open the locked door and free the six sailors, he (correctly) puts on a pair of goggles first. Jordan Tate, however, just stares at the torch unprotected as he cuts through a thick metal door. While the exposure time that she experiences is fairly short, she never even flinches, and suffers no ill effects. Especially for someone with no experience with such tools, she should be wincing in pain and looking away or squeezing her eyes shut.

Factual error: The color guard at the end during the Captain's memorial has their flags in the wrong order. The American flag is always on the left as you face the color guard.

Continuity mistake: During the show, after Bad Billy asks who's the highest ranking officer he lowers the mike. A shot later it's raised. A second later he repeats the question and the mike switches hands between shots.

Sacha

Visible crew/equipment: Jordan arrives at the ship and Billy tells her "you can do this gig with your eyes closed." The whole crew is reflected on his sunglasses.

Continuity mistake: Before Admiral Bates first speaks to Strannix, there is a dark-haired marine in a green uniform on his left. When Bates raises his hand to signal activating the audio to speak, Captain Garza (black uniform and silver hair) is suddenly on his left. Then it changes to another camera angle and the marine is back next to Bates. (00:36:40)

Continuity mistake: When the helicopter lands we see it is sitting over the white circle of the landing zone on the back of the ship. Later, right after the F18 is shot down, we see an aerial view of the ship with a small part of the back cut off, but part of the landing zone circle is visible and there is no helicopter. Continuity mistake: When Segal is creating the distraction in the kitchen with the microwave, he pours liquid on the sponge. In the next shot the sponge is deeper into the cup. When he puts it in the microwave it jumps back out of the cup.

Continuity mistake: During the fight between Ryback and Strannix, Strannix cuts Ryback above his left eyebrow with his knife. The cut disappears shortly afterwards, but reappears in a later shot.

Factual error: In the last scene, where Chief Ryback is at his captain's funeral, he's in his dress blues, and you can see his rating insignia to see that it is not of a cook (Mess Specialist/MS, now known as "Culinary Specialist/CS"), but that of a Yeoman. While in general, this still matches up with the history of the character (where Krill mentions that he could only be a cook or a yeoman after losing his security clearance for punching out his OIC), he wouldn't be cooking, he'd be doing office work. Audio problem: The two mercenaries Ryback kills in the kitchen have suppressors on their weapons yet you hear every shot as if the suppressors aren't attached.

Question: Early on in the film Casey cracks a joke about "Andre and Boudreau going hunting down on the Bayou". He then delivers a punch line. The question is what does he actually say?

Answer: I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. I heard plenty of Beaudreaux - Thibodeaux jokes growing up. I haven't the faintest idea what the joke was supposed to be. I ended up here trying to find the answer. Under Siege just popped up on NetFlix and I haven't seen it since I was a teenager. I stopped the video to try to look up this random joke. If it's a real Southern joke, maybe it comes from Mississippi or Arkansas.

Answer: If you have the DVD and use the subtitles feature you can see he says with a heavy bayou accent "Where're the guns, Druillet?" and then he repeats it. It must be a southern thing.

Answer: It doesn't mean anything actually it's just dialogue they made up for the film with no actual meaning.
