Trivia
When Mindy is getting her picture taken next to one of the graboid's tongues, look at the shelf of movies behind her when the camera zooms out its farthest in that shot; in the second row down (I think it's the in the second row down), if you look really closely, you can see that one of the movies is Tremors. Tremors (1990) - 38 mistakes
Directed by Ron Underwood, starring Fred Ward, Kevin Bacon, Michael Gross (add more)
Continuity: When Val and Earl are being chased by the graboid in the first shot it appears that the graboid is going perpendicular to the fence (you can see this because of the wires that cross it). But in the next shot the graboid appears to be going parallel to the fence.
Continuity: When they all are trying to lure the graboids away from Val, Rhonda looks down the pipe running down the from the water tank. A piece of cloth soaked in water is tied around the pipe and water is dripping from it. When it cuts to Rhonda climbing down the water has stopped dripping.
Continuity: When they are picking up Burt and Heather, Burt throws a sack to Val. When it cuts Val catches a totally different sack.
Visible crew/equipment: When Bert kills one of the monsters in his place, the shot goes to Val and Earl they congratulate Bert over the radio. When the shot goes back to Bert, pause the dvd or go to slow motion, and look at the window as it pans up, you can see a man with a red cap just standing there.
Continuity: When the heroes are on the roof and they send the lawn mower off as a diversion, you can see it would crash into some building. In the next shot, it is back on the road.
Revealing: Near the end, Val, Earl and Rhonda are way off the rocks after the blast. When the monster comes up out of the ground and Earl takes off, you can see the "ground" bounce. It's definitely a false ground so they can get the "snake-oid" pushed up through it.
Revealing: When the horse is lying on the ground with the tentacle wrapped around it, you can see a wire to the left of the screen attached to the horse.
Factual error: Throughout the entire film Burt holds all of his rifles' butts underneath his armpit, rather than against his shoulder. A trained "survivalist" such as him would surely know better. Holding the "elephant gun" in such a way would most likely break his arm, wrist and hand when it fired.
Continuity: When we see Rhonda placing a sensor to the ground we see her throwing her cap to the ground. When it cuts the cap has moved closer to the hole in the ground.
Continuity: When Dr. Jim and his wife are backing away from where the generator was, you can see them moving towards the car behind them. When it cuts, they are now facing the car.
Continuity: When Valentine and Earl gets to Chan's, you see Heather packing some stuff into a box. She then takes a ketchup bottle in her left hand and a spray box in her right hand. When it cuts she is holding the ketchup in her right hand.
Continuity: When the snakeoid is chasing Val and Earl after they lose their horses, they run along a fence and the monster causes all the fence posts to fall over backwards. But shortly after, all the fence posts are seen to be upright, although some are tilted a little to the right.
Continuity: When Rhonda, Earl and Val are pole vaulting from rock to rock, if you look closely you can see that the poles are a lot longer than when they first picked them up off the ground.
Revealing: As the last Graboid falls off the cliff at the end, just before it hits the ground, you can see its skin has already been cut up for the "blood" to gush out of upon impact.
Continuity: In the movie, Earl's last name was Basset, but in the credits, his last name was Bass.
Visible crew/equipment: Look over Val's right shoulder as Rhonda is supposedly driving upside down with her legs sticking out the back window of the truck cab and you can se a man driving for her.
Continuity: In the beginning of the movie, watch Kevin Bacon's hair when they're driving in the truck. In some camera shots, his hair is blowing in the wind. In others, his hair is not moving at all. This happens several times.
Continuity: At Dr. Jim's when he is standing by where the generator should be, you can see several items around. When it cuts all the items has moved.
Audio problem: Right after Bert kills the second graboid he gets on the radio and says "we killed that mother-humper". Val replies "...be advised there are two more mother-humpers". However Val's lips don't seem to be saying "humper". This occurs even in unedited versions of the film.
Continuity: The green fuzzy dice in the guys' truck change over and over. Sometimes they're stuck up behind the rear view mirror, sometimes they're hanging down. Granted, they could fall and the guys could stick them back up again, but in one scene when they're behind the mirror, the faces of the dice that are visible from the front change.
Continuity: When Val, Earl and Rhonda are stranded on the boulder the camera shows a wide shot of the entire area, then fades to dark. It's clear that the nearest boulder to theirs is at least 25 feet away. The next morning the trio "pole vault" between boulder to boulder with 7-8 feet long poles. The boulders magically became much closer together overnight.
Revealing: When the graboid starts pulling Jim underground, his wife hands him a board to keep him above ground. You can see the thick board bend rather easily while his wife hands it to him. Also when Jim is sucked under ground it bends quite easily as well, as if it were styrofoam.
Revealing: When Rhonda is jumping from shelf to shelf in the store, she slips and falls in one of the shots. You can just see her feet stumbling as she lands on the materials on the top shelf, but the shot ends before she falls all the way.
Continuity: When Walter names the monsters Graboids he puts his hands down. When it cuts he holds both arm against his waist.
Audio problem: When Val gets the Cat running he cheers out loud. It cuts to a shot looking up at him inside the Cat, he cheers again but his mouth is closed.
Continuity: When the worker is drilling the ground you see his mouth is clean. When it cut, his mouth is now covered in mud.
Continuity: When Val is climbing up the electrical tower to get Edgar down, at first the sky is blue, then suddenly it's overcast.
Continuity: When Val finally gets the truck moving after being held by the graboid, you can't see any of the remaining tentacle holding on to the differential. When they get to town, it's now there where you should have been able to see it.
Continuity: When Val and Earl are relaxing with a couple of cold ones after they bury the trash, Val's recliner chair changes. From the side it is a brownish-rust color cloth material. In the next shot, from the front view, it is greenish leather. This scene takes place after Rhonda's near miss with the graboid but before the first guy, old Edgar, is found dead.
Continuity: When Valentine climbs up to get Edgar you can see a green mark under Edgar's shoes. When we see Edgar lying in the car the green mark is gone.
Continuity: At the end, as Val and Rhonda are talking, Val's hat brim is flat. Rhonda walks off, and Earl slams the hood of the truck. When they show Val again, the brim of his hat is curved upwards.
Revealing: When Dr. Jim and his wife are backing away from where the generator was, you can see the ground behind them is flat. When it cuts, there is suddenly a pile of sand on the ground. This pile is hiding the hole that Jim falls into.
Revealing: When Earl and Rhonda are being chased into the store and they're running along the little boardwalk, the boards are forced up like a wave by the snakeoid. But the ground under the boardwalk is perfectly flat.
Continuity: When Val, Earl and Rhonda are on the rock and decide to pole vault off, Rhonda's backpack is flat when she scrambles down the rock, but appears full once she reaches the bottom.
Visible crew/equipment: Towards the end, just after Kevin Bacon says "this one's not falling for it," watch for a boom mike right at the top of the screen.
Other: The radio that was taken up onto the roof was not battery powered and should not have continued working because it was no longer plugged into an electrical outlet.
Factual error: Val climbs up a metal electricity pylon to try to help Edgar. They are in the middle of the desert at noon (note the shadows) - the metal of the pylon would be unbearably hot. Val would be badly burned, but he doesn't even wear gloves.
