In the scene where the Terminator is stood at the broken window of the Cyberdyne building, just after he has shot the police cars with the Gatling gun, he uses a grenade launcher to fire a grenade through the side window of a police car below. Look carefully and you will see a rectangular package, presumably a small charge fitted by the special effects team, on this side window exactly where the window smashes to simulate the grenade smashing the glass a split second before exploding inside the car.
