Review: New Moon

Megan will live on

The Hot Five!!

Season of Witch trailer

Trivia

Near the end of the film, Superman gives a press conference in front of a bluish mirror-glass building which is meant to be the Daily Planet skyscraper in Metropolis (which we all know is New York, sort of). The shot is framed so you can only see the bottom of the building - necessary as it is only about 3 floors high, and is in fact the railway station in Milton keynes, England, about 400 yards from where I work. Even the crowd have a vaguely British look about them - presumably passers-by were recruited and stood there in their own clothes (this would matter less now - Brits look more American than they did in the Eighties). Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Superman and the super villain are fighting on the moon, when Superman flies in and lands at the beginning of the fight, you can see the cables that are suspending him.

Mistake Factual error: The Sun Man takes the publisher of the newspaper out into space. Humans cannot breathe in outer space. Even if they could, wouldn't she burn up in re-entry? It can't be Superman's powers are transferred to someone he's touching, otherwise in the second film he could never have crushed General Zod's hand...

Mistake Continuity: When the truck is carrying the missile, the officers parading in front of it pass by the same place twice.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman leaves Luthor in the quarry, he lands several feet to the right of the cop. In the close-up they are almost close to each other.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man arrives on Earth, he enters a shady place which makes him loose his power and cools his body, producing some frozen-like smoke. The next two times that he enters a dark place (inside the elevator and in space) he doesn't produce the smoke. FX budget problems here?

Mistake Continuity: Two firemen are seen away from their truck, but when the angle changes six firemen have appeared seemingly from nowhere.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man dents the floor with his footsteps, but in a wider angle the floor is intact.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy is in outer space grabbed by Nuclear Man, she slides down dramatically and grabs on his wrist. Half a second later, the sliding effect is gone and she is now floating relaxed, grabbing the upper part of his arm.

Mistake Continuity: In the barn, Superman puts a glowing crystal inside a pocket. A frame later it disappears.

Mistake Continuity: After the two police cars are sent backwards, a third one that was parked behind, suddenly appears aligned with the other two.

Mistake Continuity: When Lois is in the subway carriage crying for help, she places her right hand on the rail above. A frame later the hand is by her waist.

Mistake Continuity: The debris on the bottom of the Statue of Liberty's base appears and disappears between shots.

Mistake Revealing: When Superman saves the people that Nuclear Man throws up into the air, as they lower you can see the support wires holding them up.

Mistake Continuity: While the people in the village are watching the lava flow down the streets, the first shot shows them to the right of a wooden door. A frame later they are positioned several feet further, close to a big green plant.

Mistake Continuity: During the Great Wall of China scene, the sky changes from cloudy and grey in the shots involving people, to bright and sunny when the wall explodes.

Mistake Plot hole: When NuclearMan sees a picture of Lacy Warfield on the newspaper he decides to go after her. When confronted by Superman he asks "Where is the woman?" Superman responds that he'll never find her. How could Superman know which woman NuclearMan was talking about? There was no indication that Superman knew that NuclearMan was looking for Lacy.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman lands Lex on the quarry, the standing position of the prisoner behind differs between shots.

Mistake Continuity: In the quarry, the cop on the right's hat has two strings around the top, the upper one dissapears depending on the shot.

Mistake Continuity: After Superman straightens the US flag, a brief shot shows he is on a plain ground, but when he is knocked down by Nuclear Man, a big mount appears in front of him.

Mistake Continuity: Before Superman enters the UN hall, the amount of people by the staircase changes between shots.

Mistake Continuity: The shape and size of the volcano is totally different between the moment when Nuclear Man enters it, to when it erupts.

Mistake Continuity: Behind where Nuclear Man lands there's no school bus on the wide shot, which is a matte painting, but a frame later one appears and stays there for the rest of the scene.

Mistake Continuity: When nuclear Man bursts the cab's hood, the radiator explodes and vanishes. A second later it's back on.

Mistake Continuity: Mr. Warfield asks the little boy to repeat "I wish Superman had said yes" and places his hand on the kid's shoulder. The shot changes inmediately to a close-up and the arm and hand are gone.

Mistake Revealing: When Nuclear Man blows up the fire hydrant one can easily notice it's made of foam.

Mistake Factual error: If the Russian cosmonauts need special suits to survive out to space, so does Lacey when she is taken by Nuclear Man.

Mistake Continuity: The Statue of Liberty manages to fall down straight the whole long time, but when it is is about to hit the ground, the angle changes and the statue has magically tilted sideways.

Mistake Revealing: Watch the moon fight between the two supermen. In one scene, Superman charges nuclearman and you can see the backdrops flutter if your monitor brightness is high.

Mistake Revealing: When NuclearMan goes to destroy the Great Wall of China, there is a brief glimpse of him wearing support wires.

Mistake Continuity: Whenever there is a shot of Superman flying taken from directly in front of him, against a blue screen (watch out for the oh-so-visible black outline and loss of colour), it's always the exact same shot. Obviously the producers could only get one day with the blue screen, then.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man buries Superman, there's a huge rock near the hole. When Superman comes out, the rock has disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: While the lava flows on the Italian village, a wooden cart with hay on the left suddenly becomes a red car.

Mistake Continuity: Clark enters the barn to fiddle with his green crystal. When he exits, a huge amount of stuff from his childhood has magically appeared around the place.

Mistake Continuity: In the gym, the amount of sport bags on the back differs between shots.

Mistake Continuity: Lex's fat assistant enters the place with the missiles' control panels. Outside he is seen entering through an open door. From the inside, the door is closed and he enters a second later.

Mistake Continuity: After Superman lets go of the elevator on the surface of the moon, the cables fall down with the elevator, but in the close-up the cables are up and fall down again.

Mistake Continuity: While Superman walks to UN, the way Jimmy holds his camera changes in a split second.

Mistake Continuity: While Superman walks with the kid to the UN, the sky changes from sunny to cloudy in a nano-second.

Mistake Continuity: Before Clark steps down off the trolley, a group of people surrounded by suitcases are seen on the back, but disappear when the angle changes.

Mistake Revealing: When the net full of nuclear missiles is thrown into the sun, the footage of the explosion is exactly the same as the explosion of the single rocket with the DNA of Nuclear Man attached.

Mistake Continuity: During the volcano eruption scene, an old man with a black hat on the right appears and disappears depending if the shot is a close-up or a wide shot. This even happens when the shot changes follow one another immediately.

Mistake Audio problem: On the moon, Superman smashes Nuclear Man's head against his knee. The clonk is heard before the hit (even forgetting that sound can't be heard on the moon).

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man lands on Metropolis a cop on the right is opening the door of his car. In the next shot he is repeating the movement.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man arrives to earth, full of energy from the sun, his footsteps don't glow; neither do they when he arrives to the balcony, several scenes later. Then a couple of seconds after they glow but stop glowing when he walks towards Superman and keep that way for the rest of the film.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman is taking the missile with the rest of the weapons, its colour changes from dark black to light grey.

Mistake Revealing: Nuclear Man fires close to a school bus and a guy in a white car comes out with a flame burning close to his head. Watch him and you'll see he's wearing a fire proof hood.

Mistake Revealing: When Nuclear Man hits Superman by the Statue of Liberty's grounds, Superman reacts to the kick before actually being hit.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man is destroying Metropolis, the same stuntman with a gabardine and a hat is seen close to a shop window, then a second later in the middle of the street and a second afterwards getting thrown through the air with a group of people. He looks and dress just like Clark Kent, guess it's his stand in doing some extra work.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After Superman is seen aged holding the green glass, Nuclear Man is seen ascending and wires are visible.

Mistake Revealing: Near the end of the movie, Superman descends on the tower, by the elevator room, and his supporting wires are visible.

Mistake Continuity: Superman land on the middle-top of the missile, but a second later he is further down and on the side of it.

Mistake Continuity: When Lois gets in the subway train it is packed with people, in the close shot they are gone.

Mistake Continuity: Lois visits Clark and takes her coat off, folds it and places it on her arm. A frame later the coat is lying on the couch.

Mistake Revealing: When Superman and Nuclearman are fighting for the first time in outer space, you can see them both standing on a small platform.

Mistake Continuity: Superman traps the supervillain (whose power depends on sunlight) inside of an elevator to incapacitate him. Superman then ripped the elevator out of the building. He then plants it on the far side of the moon. Later on, sunlight starts to shine into the elevator through a slit at where the doors meet. The villain of course recharges and comes after Superman again. Now, if light could get through that crack there, then why couldn't it get through when the elevator was ripped out of the building in BROAD DAYLIGHT?

Mistake Continuity: When the volcano erupts, a wide shot shows a group of people behind the cop and the priest. In the following shot a woman appears in front of the cop.

Mistake Continuity: In the museum, while the guide is walking towards Superman's hair, people suddenly appear on the left taking pictures.

Mistake Factual error: When the villain takes the reporter into space (the earth is just a circle off in the distance), then weakens and lets go of her, not only does she start to fall, she starts to fall straight down and has to hang onto him. (Oddly enough, HE's NOT falling). Did somebody inject gravity into mid-space?

Mistake Continuity: When Superman flies towards a mountain, the lava on the volcano behind him disappears.

Mistake Continuity: Superman walks towards the UN and there are benches in front of him. In the next wide angle they've disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: When the train driver passes out, several (speeded-up) shots of the tunnel and the shots of the bystanders on the platform show that the train is moving really fast, but in between there's a shot of Lois at normal speed, and the lights of the tunnel seen through the windows show that the train speed is quite low.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man destroys Metropolis, he stands by the Metropolis Tower entrance, but disappears and reappears randomly depending on the angle.

Mistake Continuity: When Clark is about to enter the subway train, the people by the door appear and disappear all the time: A cop, a man with a hat, a lady in a leather jacket.

Mistake Continuity: Lois visits Clark at his appartment and a wooden duck, with the head painted green and white and a black coloured body, appears on the table next to her.

Mistake Continuity: Before lava covers the Italian village, furniture under the two arches on the right, as well as a vase, cart wheel and table on the left disappear between shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Lois opens the terrace doors in the hotel suite, the angle changes and the furniture on her right moves several meters to the left, appearing close to Lois.

Mistake Continuity: The close shot of the Great Wall exploding shows an edgy architecture, with straight lines. The wide shots show a curvy construction.

Mistake Continuity: On the Great Wall, a woman with a turquoise jacket stumbles and is about to fall off the edge. From a new angle two seconds later, she is three meters behind and stumbling towards the edge again.

Mistake Continuity: Luthor holds a sealed champagne bottle with both hands on the neck of it. He doesn't move them, nor his shoulders, nor do we hear any sound revealing that the bottle's being opened. However, when Luthor leaves, the bottle's seal appears opened and 20 centimeters away when the scene ends.

Mistake Continuity: In the gym, a man leaves a towel on a low wall. Watch the blue and grey stripes and you'll notice that its position is different between shots.

Mistake Revealing: Before Superman brings the cosmonaut safely to his spaceship the entrance door wiggles as if made of cardboard. There's no air in space and it's supposed to be a strong, solid structure.

Mistake Continuity: When the satellite knocks the Russian cosmonaut, they are both dragged into space, but the immediate wide angle shows him alone in the void, no sign of the huge satellite.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman flies away from the tower holding the elevator, the first angle shows him leaving towards a 10 o'clock direction. A frame later the position of the cable shows him leaving to a 7 o'clock direction.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man and Superman fall off the balcony and fight, the position of their bodies has no continuity in the wide and close shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman throws the rock into the volcano, it flies from right to left into a huge cloud of smoke. In the following angle, it is falling from the blue clear sky, up away from the smoke.

Mistake Continuity: The UN building that Superman walks towards and the one he arrives at in a new shot look entirely different.

Mistake Continuity: Shortage of extras in this film: Inside the UN hall, the arab man that greets Superman is the one that a second before was in the entrance.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman falls straight and unconscious off the Statue of Liberty he's facing a 9 o'clock direction. In the next angle he is facing 5, then lands facing 7.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": The same front shot of Superman flying is used over and over and over again.

Mistake Continuity: When Luthor introduces Nuclear Man to Superman, a towel on a chair changes from ironed and flat to a big bundle in less than a second.

Mistake Continuity: When the lava is flooding the village, a big green plant appears close to a priest. When Superman cools the lava and the smoke goes away, we see that the plant is much smaller and less leafy.

Mistake Revealing: In this scene, all the SWAT cops have the same type of rifle, except for the guy that gets his melted by Nuclear Man, which is a thick rubbery prop.

Mistake Continuity: After smashing his head, Superman sends Nuclear Man flying away. At first, Nuclear Man is conscious and with his head pointing upwards. A frame later he is unconscious and the head is laying down.

Mistake Revealing: When Clark Kent enters the subway, the set is the same as the rampage later in the film; only that the second time we see this set, the subway entrance has vanished.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the quarry, when the cops' car flies up the air you can see the ramp used to lift it on the lower left side of the screen.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman arrives at the UN, Jimmy Olsen stops in the middle of the street to take a picture of him. A shot later he's six feet behind a dark car.

Mistake Continuity: A couple seconds after Lenny insults Nuclear Man, when he is about to be lifted up, the place he stands in is different from where he was before.

Mistake Continuity: When the window shops explode, the grey car close to them disappears in the following shot.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Nuclear Man asks Superman "where's the girl", to which Superman replies to him that he'll never find her. All the plot involving Nuclear Man and Lacy was cut out, so both guys talking about "a girl" (which they both know about) is useless and senseless here.

Mistake Revealing: After they fall off the balcony, Superman chases Nuclear Man, but the boats beneath don't move.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man is about to land on the Great Wall, the aerial view shows it's empty; a second later it's filled with people.

Mistake Continuity: After the volcano erupts, the boy standing to the right of the girl disappears between shots.

Mistake Revealing: When Superman flies towards the volcano, the scene of the eruption he is superimposed on is exactly the same one we saw 2 minutes earlier.

Mistake Revealing: After Nuclear-Man kicks Superman in the air after putting the Statue of Liberty back, Superman does flips and part of him disappears.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman takes off after saving the boy in the Great Wall of China scene, you see him heading up, as if leaving, but in the next cut, he's on the ground next to the wall.

Mistake Continuity: Outside the UN, the crowd looks up to the sky and watch Superman come flying. When he lands, 2 seconds later, all the stunts on the first row are either gone or standing somewhere else. A kid on the right with dyed hair, for example, is now standing way behind the crowd.

Mistake Continuity: Seen from inside the train-driver's seat, the tunnel is darker and with lights on both sides, but a shot of the tunnel alone shows it brighter and with no lights on the left side. Then it cuts back to the previous angle and everything changes back.

Mistake Continuity: On the moon, nuclear Man grabs a rock with a huge hole underneath and holds it over his head. The angle changes and the rock has changed to a different one with a solid bottom.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man lands in Metropolis and the cab driver on the left swaps several times from having his arm inside the car in the wide angles, to outside the cab's window in the close-ups.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man arrives at the Statue of Liberty he lowers his arms twice.

Mistake Continuity: When Mrs. Warfield waits for Clark in her office, there's a white sculpture on the table. From the back it's away from a brown object, from the front it's very close to it.

Mistake Revealing: When in space, Superman punches Nuclear Man on the back, he turns around and his face has turned blurry and black, but his body keeps the same colour. In the immediate close-up the face's colour is fixed.

Mistake Continuity: On the terrace, when Superman and nuclear Man are about to fight, the rope next to the lamp on the wall keeps changing positions between shots.

Mistake Revealing: When the subway train is supposedly running wild, watch the man to the left of Lois: He throws Lois's book violently away on the sly, as if the (fake) rumble inside the train had done the mess.

Mistake Continuity: By the colour of the new stones repaired, you can tell that the first gap that Superman fixes at the Great Wall is smaller in size and triangular shaped, instead of the original rectangular and huge gap made by Nuclear Man.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman and Lois are flying together, the train below drives from right to left, but half a second later it is moving in the opposite direction.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman leads nuclear man inside the building to find lacy, an old man turns sideways to let Super in. A frame later he is back facing the door.

Mistake Continuity: Lois hands the newspaper to Clark, with the headline "Superman says drop dead to kid", and a guy in a red shirt in the background stands up and leaves, followed by a bunch of people behind; in the following angle he is sitting down and the whole choreography is repeated.

Mistake Continuity: After the SWAT van is lifted, it tilts forward. A frame later, it's looking sideways.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man sends the 2 police cars back and the one on the right skids and faces slightly to the right, but a second later, when they explode, both cars are perfectly aligned.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man explodes a window shop with a TV in, the reflection of the window on the taxi on the right shows a clear blue sky and a low building; nothing to do with the skyscrapers and the rampage that we see in other shots.

Mistake Continuity: After the volcano erupts, a big black cloud covers the city, but a wider angle shows the sky clear.

Mistake Revealing: When Lois and Superman are flying together, they turn green, specially Lois's arms and hands.

Mistake Continuity: After nuclear Man crumples the cab's hood, there's another taxi behind starting to drive slowly towards the damaged cab. A frame later, a new angle shows that taxi repeating the previous movements but really fast.

Mistake Continuity: In the hotel, right before Lacy enters the elevator, the hall of the hotel is filled with plants, couches and people. A second later, while Clark is on the trolley, the hall is a vast, empty place for the trolley to wander around.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman is out on the balcony with Lois, a tall, wide building is reflected on the glass behind, but when the angle changes to Superman's POV the building is gone, and now there's just a vast open space and a thin skyscraper.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy shows the mock front page of the Daily Planet she holds it covering the red circle on the top right. A frame later she's holding it several inches down.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman and Nuclear Man fight on the balcony the high powered binoculars disappear.

Mistake Continuity: When the Soviet missile is about to be launched, the sky changes from daytime to dusk.

Mistake Continuity: The Soviet missile has legible CCCP red letters, but in the following shot it's covered in snow, although the close-ups don't show any snow falling.

Mistake Audio problem: When Nuclear Man knocks out Superman on the moon we hear some growling, but their mouths aren't moving.

Mistake Continuity: When nuclear Man watches the newspaper on the table, the lighter is by the side of the phone. In the following shot it's in front of it.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man fires at the fire truck a short piece of hose comes out. A second later, in the following shot, the hose is 10 meters long and all over the place.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman throws Nuclear Man down the chimney, the sky is grey and cloudy, but a second later it's pitch black.

Mistake Continuity: Before Nuclear Man burns Luthor's dollar bill, Luthor looks to his right, immediately after, the shot from behind shows him looking straight forward.

Mistake Continuity: The SWAT van is lifted next to the curb, but a second later appears in the middle of the street surrounded by cars.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man watches the Daily Planet paper with the "New publisher for your favourite paper" headline. The first shot shows the paper slightly wrinkled on the left and bent to the right. In the following angle it is straight and perfect.

Mistake Continuity: When the SWAT van is turning around, the cars on the street are different than the ones in previous shots (try to find the destroyed taxi cabs that collided).

Mistake Continuity: When Lois gets in the train, an old man with a grey gabardine enters first and is seen behind her. Then the shot changes and the man has changed to a baldie middle aged guy.

Mistake Revealing: Nuclear Man is shown blowing up the Great wall twice, but it's the same shot reversed.

Mistake Continuity: Before Superman rebuilds the Great Wall, he flies up with a woman in his arms. He flies past a stone arch and starts to descend. However, the following angle shows him yards behind descending right by the center of the arch.

Mistake Continuity: During the volcano scene, a girl is holding on to the priest's arm at wrist level. A split of a second later her grip changes to above the elbow level.

Mistake Continuity: When the volcano erupts, there's suddenly a lot more snow on the crater.

Mistake Continuity: Before nuclear Man lands in the city, there's barely any smoke. A split second later, the close shot is completely filled with smoke. Then it disappears when we see the old lady with the yellow bag, and reappears when we go back to Nuclear Man.

Mistake Continuity: Luthor extends his arm with a dollar bill in hand for Nuclear Man to light. From the front his arm is fully extended. From behind it isn't.

Mistake Continuity: Superman walks to a building in front surrounded by grass and with no people or traffic nearby. However, immediately after, a close-up shows him approaching a totally different place, crowded with people and a traffic jammed street.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman flies together with Lois his hair moves a lot because of the wind; but when he flies alone it stays perfect.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman rescues Lucy in space she is placed on his right side. A frame later she is on the left.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man is thrown down the chimney, he is unconscious with his arms and head looking down. A frame later he is stiff, with his arms up and pointing to the sky.

Mistake Revealing: Although Lois and another passenger move violently to show that the train is running wild, the rest of the passengers and the straps to hold one self remain perfectly still.

Mistake Other: When the visitors are leaving the museum, the first man from the cue stares at the camera for a brief moment.

Mistake Continuity: While the volcano explodes close to the Italian village, a man jumps off a balcony but disappears just a frame later from the following wide shot of the place.

Mistake Revealing: While flying together, Superman let's go of Lois and she plummets at first, but then, with the snowy mountains behind, she's able to float on air and keep on moving at the same time for 5 seconds.

Mistake Continuity: In the hotel suite, the kitchen door is always open, except for the moment when Superman has to look through it, when the door appears magically shut.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman saves the falling woman at the Great Wall, he flies in a 1 o'clock direction. A frame later he is positioned in a 12 0'clock.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man flies through the Daily Planet floors, the last place he breaks into has the exact same decoration as Lex Luthor's penthouse, despite the fact that in previous scenes we saw that Luthor lives in a totally different building.

Mistake Continuity: Before Lacy opens the red car's door at the UN, a lot of people walk towards her and stand inches away. A second later they've vanished.

Mistake Audio problem: When Lenny drives his car into the quarry, the sound of his radio changes depending on where the car is; but when he drives away, suddenly it stays constant. It should have decreased, and increased when we get to the close-up.

Mistake Continuity: While Nuclear Man moves the 2 police cars backwards, the first shot shows the car on the right ahead of the other. A frame later, in a new angle, it is way behind the other car.

Mistake Continuity: A couple walks behind the hot dog stand in the same direction twice in less than half a second.

Mistake Continuity: When the crowd follows Superman to the UN the mounted cop changes from being on the left side to the right.

Mistake Continuity: Clark runs towards the subway train and stops. Then from a different angle he is several meters behind, running and stopping again.

Mistake Other: In the rest of Superman movies, whenever he used his eyes to do some trick a beam came out. In this (really cheap) movie the beam is gone.

Mistake Continuity: Superman crosses flying the Golden Gate Bridge together with Lois, heading close to the bay area. Half a second later they are next to the bridge again.

Mistake Plot hole: Nuclear Man arrives at Luthor's apt. and steps into a dark corner, where he loses his powers. From the opposite angle the place is filled with light, so Nuclear Man shouldn't have lost his strength.

Mistake Continuity: While Nuclear Man is destroying Metropolis, two police cars get moved backwards. The first shot of the cars moving show a lot of people by a shop window. The angle changes to a close shot, with no people there, then back to the previous wide angle, now with the cars moving backwards, and the bunch of people reappear.

Mistake Continuity: The smoke coming out of the volcano changes direction in a split second after nuclear Man enters the crater.

Mistake Revealing: When Superman is wounded on the neck, and when the italian villagers are saved, the same male falsetto voice is used to add a (crappy and out-of-sync) "Oooh!" and "Aaaah!".

Mistake Continuity: When Superman stops the subway train, there's a black man with a moustache, red shirt and a gabardine suit in the first line. Then he manages to appear meters behind, despite the jam on the platform. Then Lois appears behind him. Then she magically disappears and he appears back on the front.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy is about to enter the elevator, a light brown rug has appeared on the floor behind, which disappears in the next wide shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman enters the UN hall, a back shot shows the people in the upper bleacher clapping, but a frame later, the front shot shows them sitting still.

Mistake Continuity: During the volcano eruption the animal on the right (goat or sheep, I don't know) keeps changing from brown colour to white.

Mistake Continuity: In the quarry, Lenny parks his car to the very right of two wagons. Seconds later the car is in front of them.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman stops the Soviet spaceship from turning around the solar panel is facing upwards, a second later the spaceship has changed position and the panel is sideways.

Mistake Continuity: Before the firemen arrive at the truck, there's a lot of smoke around, but half a second later it's all gone.

Mistake Revealing: After Nuclear Man rampages Metropolis, Superman cries "Stop!" and a SWAT agent descends from the sky on visible wires.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman is rebuilding the Great Wall all of the people near the hole vanish.

Mistake Revealing: The close shot of people panicking when the Statue is about to crash against the pavement shows an old woman with a red wool hat and a white scarf. Many scenes later, when Nuclear Man lands on Metropolis, the same lady is seen, wearing the same clothes.

Mistake Continuity: When nuclear Man makes the engine of the taxi explode, there's a guy with a red jacket behind it that appears and disappears between shots.

Mistake Continuity: Swat agents hide behind the van and start to shoot. A second later they've all vanished.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man lands on Metropolis and all the traffic in both lanes is jammed and no cars move. When he walks a couple of feet suddenly the right lane, which had space for a car the most, is empty and with space enough to let two taxis appear from nowhere and run for several feet.

Mistake Audio problem: When Nuclear Man puts Lenny down on the floor, Lenny babbles some things but his mouth doesn't move.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When NuclearMan enters the building after being told he would be taken to Lacy, he flys upward through different floors. As he's doing this you can see support wires attached.

Mistake Factual error: When Superman addresses the UN, the delegate presumably representing the United Kingdom appears behind an "England" sign - "England" is not an international entity represented at the UN, while the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is.

Mistake Continuity: In class, Jeremy has his body bent over his desk. When the angle changes he is sitting properly on the chair.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman lands near the UN, Lois and Jimmy disappear from the crowd, only to appear half a second later, in the closer angle.

Mistake Continuity: At the Great Wall of China, Nuclear Man points his hands forward and explodes the wall in front. As of then, there's no continuity between the position of his hands and the location of the places exploding.

Mistake Continuity: While Superman is in awe reading the "Drop dead" headline, there's a group of journalists on the background and an empty chair on the right. When Clark stands up, a man appears seated on the chair.

Mistake Revealing: The elevator cables that Superman holds should be greasy, or at least dirty, but they are not, revealing he's merely holding a black rope.

Mistake Revealing: While Nuclear Man and Superman are falling off the balcony, their skin switches from pink to natural. When Nuclear Man finally flies away he looses all of his colour and becomes semi transparent.

Mistake Continuity: Before Lex presses the red button to launch the missile, the phone next to it is hung-up. Then someone grabs it and the phone cable covers the control panel, but the immediate close-up of Lex's finger shows that the phone is hung-up, as in the first position.

Mistake Revealing: After the SWAT van is lifted, a sky and a low building are reflected on its side, instead of the skyscraper we see on the opposite angle.

Mistake Revealing: While flying with Lois, Superman lets her go and when he picks her up all of the wires holding him are visible.

Mistake Continuity: When Luthor and Superman exit to the balcony to meet Nuclear Man, Superman gives a step down. A frame later he is up, and several seconds later he steps down again.

Mistake Continuity: During the Great Wall of China scene, a tree suddenly appears by the wall just when Superman is leaving.

Mistake Continuity: One of the general shots in the subway shows Superman flying slower than usual and inches away from the bystanders. The problem is that their coats and hair don't flutter nor do they notice him passing by or seem nervous in any way. However, the next close shot of their faces show them nervous and in awe at the action.

Mistake Plot hole: Nuclear Man flies through the floor and ceilings of the Metropolis tower without touching anything or anyone; but an outside shot shows the facade exploding for some reason.

Mistake Continuity: When Lenny leads his car with the cops in, the car is facing a very short road ending in a small mount of rocks. The following wider angle shows a very wide open space with grass and a huge cliff.

Mistake Continuity: After Nuclear Man lands on Metropolis a black man in a grey suit keeps moving from a white pole to a parking sign between each shot.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man lands on a street surrounded by skyscrapers. In the following shots where he destroys everything, the right side of the street is the same, but the left side is totally different: small houses, sunnier, signs on the walls.

Mistake Plot hole: The SWAT van could have never gotten where Nuclear Man is because of the humongous traffic jam.

Mistake Continuity: The cab's hood, crumpled by Nuclear Man's power beam, magically smoothes itself a frame later.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Nuclear Man descends close to the statue of liberty to fight Superman. For a brief glimpse his supporting wires are seen.

Mistake Revealing: When the volcano erupts, it's obviously a painting because the lava doesn't flow or move an inch.

Mistake Continuity: In order to stop the eruption, Superman flies towards a mountain. Watch the central part of it and you'll notice that the wide and close shots are of completely different mountains.

Mistake Continuity: While Superman is picking up the crystal form the hole in the barn, the straw hanging loose around the hole disappears in the wide shot.

Mistake Plot hole: Superman manages to find bricks to rebuild the Great Wall of China. While it's true that he could have created the bricks from stones, the humongous explossions of the wall, and the vast grounds surrounding the area, show that there is no place, no material, and no way even for Superman to create 1,000 bricks from nothing.

Mistake Continuity: During the subway sequence, the carriage in front of Lois's is empty, but when the train comes to a stop it's packed with people.

Mistake Continuity: When Clark is about to leave the hotel, a man appears by the dark car on the right in less than half a second.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman cools the huge river of lava, a bunch of fresh white and red carnations can be seen inches away. Perhaps they are an ultra-heat-proof breed?

Mistake Continuity: When the bellboy picks up Clark with the baggage trolley, he makes a close turn to the right and drives parallel to the elevator. When the angle changes he is in a totally different position.

Mistake Continuity: The bundle that Superman makes to destroy the weapons changes to a tenth of its size in about a second.

Mistake Continuity: A window shop with a red curtain and a TV set explodes and gets totally destroyed, but several seconds later when Nuclear Man plays around with the SWAT van we see it intact.

Mistake Revealing: Watch the cars and the grey truck during the LexTv scene. Whenever Luthor appears on screen the same cars are driving on the street.

Mistake Continuity: When Lois goes out to fly with Superman, her coat is thrown on the couch, when she arrives, it is neatly folded. Superman couldn't have done it because he was away with her all the time and when he arrives he goes straight to his bedroom.

Mistake Continuity: When Lois is walking towards the subway carriage there's a cop controlling the passers by. When Clark walks by two seconds later the cop is gone. The train starts to move and we get a panoramic view of the station and, yes, the cop has definitely vanished.

Mistake Continuity: When Nuclear Man lets go the the Statue of Liberty, he disappears in the immediate wide angle shot.

Mistake Continuity: While the subway is running loose, Lois stares at something, an immediate POV reveals it's the bystanders on the platform. But this is all wrong, the train is inside a pitch black tunnel all the time.

Mistake Continuity: When Perry White goes up the escalator, he places both hands on the rail. A second later there's just one.

Mistake Continuity: A fireman tries to grab the hose from the back of the truck and wounds himself. But half a second before there was no fireman there.

Mistake Continuity: Clark Kent exits the hotel, gets in a car, changes into Superman and flies straight up to Lois's bedroom, which is a few stories above. So why is he shown flying over rooftops?

Mistake Revealing: It is way too obvious that when Luthor holds the dollar bill, his arm and hand have been replaced by a robotic prop. His arm manages to move without involving all the bones connected to the shoulder and the back.

Mistake Plot hole: After Nuclear Man slides down the chimney of the Nuclear Plant the lid of the reactor is open and then automatically closes. This whole premise is totally absurd, not only for security reasons, but for logical ones too.

Mistake Continuity: Before Luthor introduces Nuclear Man to Superman, they have a chat next to the bar. The bottles and figurine on the back changes positions between shots.

Mistake Plot hole: The Russian cosmonaut is out in space singing Sinatra when he's knocked away. Later on, Superman appears from nowhere and saves him and says "you'll be safer singing here". First, Superman was nowhere near to know he was singing. Second of all, sound does not travel in space, super-hearing or not. So the whole comment is senseless.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: While Nuclear Man destroys Metropolis, a bunch of people appear behind him, specially a woman with a white gabardine, a funny wig, dark glasses and a big fake nose. She reappears in a totally different place two seconds later, when the police cars arrive.

Mistake Continuity: The Russian cosmonaut is adjusting the cables with his right hand raised, left one lowered. In the following angle the position is the opposite.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman arrives at Lois's balcony, a plant on the left is away from the door. When Superman leaves and Lois asks him to take her with him, the plant is next to the door.

Mistake Continuity: In the very beginning of the film, a satellite dish next to the Russian cosmonaut keeps appearing and disappearing.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman flies towards the Russian cosmonaut his space suit changes from silver to green.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy is seducing Clark, he is sitting straight, but in the following angle he is leaning backwards with his head tilted sideways.

Mistake Continuity: When the Russian spaceship is spinning round, the bright and orange light inside and its minimal decoration are totally different to the inside shots, with a dim light and cables and stuff everywhere.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman is about to take the Russian cosmonaut back inside his spaceship, a first angle shows him very close to the doorway. A shot later he is farther away.

Mistake Continuity: After Superman straightens the Russian spaceship, he flies away to save the cosmonaut. In the following wide angle he is flying towards a different direction.

Mistake Continuity: Nuclear Man is destroying Metropolis and always, behind him, there is a white truck and a lot of cars. But in one of the shots the cars have vanished and a lot of people appear.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman catches -and saves- the cosmonaut, the russian's boots change from silver to dark grey.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Lois is freefalling, Superman catches her and, for a brief glimpse, you see two stage lights reflected on his glasses.

Mistake Continuity: When Superman is given a baseball bat, the angle changes and the position of the shadows reflected on the barn change completely.

Mistake Continuity: Before Superman throws the heavy weights at the gay gym instructor, two small weights are laying parallel on the floor. A second later one has moved underneath the bench.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy is seducing Clark in the office, she places her left leg on the table, several inches away form the edge. From the opposite angle it's on the very edge of the table.

Mistake Continuity: When Lacy is seducing Clark in the office, the things on the table change positions between shots. Watch how the glasses move around, for example.
