Spice World (1997) - 40 mistakes

Continuity: When they are running the obstacle course, the amount of hoops in front of the girls changes from five, to two, to five again.

Continuity: When Scary Spice throws a pillow at Ginger. The pillow is bright purple, but when the shot is on Ginger, the pillow is bright orange.

Continuity: At the end, just after they finish singing, and are all posing, watch Posh Spice, she changes position with every camera angle.

Revealing: Wait until the end of the bonus footage of the Spice Girls' live performance of "Mama". At the very end of the song, the music and voices fade out. Sporty appears to throw her body and soul into one of the lyrics, even though the lyric is barely audible because of the fadeout. It actually looks pretty funny.

Continuity: When the UFO is landing in front of the girls, in shots from the front, Victoria holds her flashlight out in her right hand. In shots behind, her right hand is empty.

Visible crew/equipment: When Clifford is arguing with the Italian man about the men in the trunks, you can see tape markers on the floor, when they move forward.

Continuity: When the Spice Girls are dancing at the club to 'Who Do You Think You Are', Emma's glass of Pepsi keeps on appearing and disappearing.

Other: When the girls are chatting on a blanket outside the "haunted" castle, you can see Geri discreetly mouthing other people's lines, particularly Emma's.

Continuity: When the Spice Girls stop performing and go over to speak to their friend Nicola, during the whole conversation, Nicola's bag keeps changing position on her shoulder, and falls off, then is back on etc.

Continuity: When the Spice Girls are kissing Elton John, from the view facing his back you can see lipstick on his left cheek but when the view changes, it is not there.

Continuity: After the photographer hands Keith all three photos of him, Keith passes them on to his assistant, yet in the next shot when Keith exclaims "he's gone!" the photo is back in his hand.

Continuity: When the girls perform Wannabe in the cafe, Geri's and Victoria's positions switch, when they begin.

Continuity: When the girls are walking to the hoops in the obstacle course. Watch Ginger Spice's hand, at first there is nothing in it, then she sings into a walkie talkie that has magically appeared in her hand, the next shot it is gone, then it is back and then gone again.

Visible crew/equipment: After Clifford is told by the Chief that the Girls can't have any time off, he walks over the the balcony and a large boom shadow is cast on the ceiling.

Continuity: When the girls are talking with Nicola, the Chupa Chups container rotates itself round.

Continuity: Whenever the girls perform a song, their dance movements are not always consecutive, due to muliple takes.

Continuity: During shots when the Spice Girls speak to Nicole, everyone's hands keep jumping on/off of Nicola's pregnant stomach.

Continuity: When the girls are in the bus on the way to the concert, after they pass a park, they go on the bridge. But if you look out the window on the next shot of Victoria driving, you can see she's still driving past the park.

Revealing: When the kids and Victoria fall off the boat, you can clearly see that the little boy jumped off of it, not fell off.

Continuity: When they are all gathered in bed, as Baby says, "A big, very old, haunted, big, old house.", Posh puts her hand behind Emma. In the next shot, she has it in front of her, then it's behind Baby again. This keeps happening over and over.

Other: In one of the first scenes where the girls are in the recording studio singing "Say You'll Be There" study carefully what each of them are wearing. I.E. Mel B is wearing a space suit. Later in the movie, when they're in Milan, they are all seen wearing the same things.

Continuity: When the Spice Girls are practicing in Milan, and the men in trunks come out, the same man steps out from behind a pillar twice between shots.

Continuity: When Kevin McMaxford is talking about ruining the Spice Girls, the newspaper on his desk keeps moving.

Visible crew/equipment: When Clifford is talking about making a Spice Girls movie, with Croydon, crew is reflected in his shades multiple times.

Continuity: The girls' poses and positions after performing Wannabe, in the cafe keep on changing, for example, after they sing, they point in the air, then put their arms down, but then are still pointing in the air again.

Continuity: In the cafe, Mel B is stirring her coffee and then sets her spoon down. But in the next shot she is still stirring.

Continuity: When the girls are in the outside tent, Emma keeps changing from having her lollipop in and out of her mouth.

Continuity: When the girls are dancing in the club, Mel C and Geri are holding hands and jumping up and down in one shot, but in the next shot, they are not even close together.

Continuity: When the alien spacecraft is landing in front of the Spice Girls, the girls hair keeps changing from flying around, to hanging neatly.

Revealing: When the Spice Girls are in dance camp, they go through an obstacle course. On the second obstacle (the tunnel), you can see that Scary Spice runs to the side of the tunnels instead of actually going through. When the shot changes to when they are exiting the tunnel, it shows Scary Spice crawling out.

Continuity: Victoria keeps changing position, and changing what she is doing with her mobile phone, while the girls are in the tent in the garden, in their robes.

Continuity: When all the girls are in the bed, talking about having the same dream, Victoria changes from having her hands on her knees, to supporting her head, and back again.

Continuity: Before the girls practice their performance of 'Say You'll Be There', Mel B's mike swaps from her left hand to her right hand between shots.

Continuity: When the Spice Girls are talking with Nicola, everyone's positions keep changing, eg. Victoria changes from sitting, to kneeling, Emma's head changing from upright, to resting on Nicola's shoulder, etc.

Continuity: During the Spice Girls opening performance on Top of the Pops, the amount of hair hanging over Mel C's shoulders keeps drastically chaning during the whole song.

Continuity: When the girls are all sitting on Victoria's bed, Emma is holding a stuffed animal. They show her putting her left hand on top of the animal's head, but a second later they do a close up of her and it's her right hand on the head.

Audio problem: When the Spice Girls are in the hospital room with Nicola, talking about what it feels like to give birth, Mel B says "Oh" but her mouth doesn't move.

Factual error: When the girls are heading to the Albert Hall, they take a very bizarre route. For them to cross Tower Bridge and pass Battersea Power Station, they would have to travel right through the centre of London, where the Albert Hall is located.

Deliberate "mistake": Directly after Nicola has her baby, she sits up and holds a baby that is clean, umbilical cord-free, and has teeth. There is no possible way this could happen.

Continuity: When the Girls are about to leave for some time off, but Clifford runs to stop them, Victoria is under her bunk still, and not with the other Girls. In the next shot she is walking with them.
