Continuity: The head of Mega-Maid mysteriously shrinks in size. After Spaceball-1 transforms into Mega-Maid, the head is gigantic enough for a Winnebago to fly through for a considerable length of time. However, later on in the film, after the head has been jettisoned and crashed on a beach, the head is only big enough to hold a few dozen people. This can be determined by the size of the people coming out of her nose.

Spaceballs (1987) - 36 mistakes
Directed by Mel Brooks, starring Mel Brooks, Daphne Zuniga, John Candy, Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, Joan Rivers (add more)
Visible crew/equipment: Right after Barf and Lonestar have stolen the two spaceballs outfits they run by a hall way with two guards in it. Well after one of the guards saw one of them says and "Nahh", look at the top of his helmet you can see the camera and director.
Audio problem: The radar operator (making the sounds of a garbled intercom) is laughing through his next line "I'm having trouble with the radar, Sir." (After/when Dark Helmet throws the intercom across the control panel).
Deliberate "mistake": There is a shot of the huge Yogurt statue that is in slow motion. You can see that the smoke from the statue is rising slower than it normally would. This was obviously done to make the shot longer for Mel Brooks' voice over to fit.
Revealing: When we see Dark Helmets' hoverjeep in the desert, watch the front end: you can clearly make out the edge of the mirrored box they used for the "hover" effect.
Revealing: When the "Alien" is dancing along the bar, it kicks it's legs. As it dances past Barf and Lone Starr in close up, its legs are stationary and the whole model is bouncing. On cut back to its disappearance through the "stage door", its legs are kicking again. This also applies to the other animations of the "Alien".
Other: When Yogurt comes out of his statue the camera zooms in and the door starts to close, but when the camera zooms out the door starts back and closes again.
Continuity: While Dark Helmet is tasting the jam that he got off the radar screen, the black man puts his hand over his mouth. But in the next shot of the black man's face his hand has disappeared.
Continuity: When Lone Starr and Barf watch Spaceball 1 fly away in the desert, the glare on them is red but when you see the engines of Spaceball 1, they are blue.
Continuity: When Dark Helmet is talking about coffee and radar, one of the men working on the ship grabs himself before everyone else.
Revealing: When the little monster that came out of the guy's stomach is parading over the bar you can clearly see the stick attached underneath his tail to move him.
Visible crew/equipment: When our heroes enter the temple of Yogurt, there is a shot where Vespa says "Whats gonna happen now?". Behind then you can see the track the camera moves on. After the giant statue says "Silence", the track is gone.
Character mistake: During the scene in the diner, there is a sign that reads "EMPLOYEE'S ONLY." There shouldn't be an apostrophe.
Other: When Dark Helmet kills the crew member, he chops straight down the man's right side, but the slash mark shows a right-to-left downward slice.
Continuity: In the scene where Lone Starr is lifting the Yogurt statue with the Schwartz, when Barf walks in, Lone Starr drops his hand. But in the next shot when the statue falls, Lone Starr is still holding his hand up until the statue actually falls and then he drops his hand again.
Continuity: When Yogurt is looking at Lone Starr's medallion in the far away shot, his fingers are around the medallion. When it shows the close-up, he's holding it by the top with two fingers. When it goes back to the far away shot, his fingers are around it again.
Continuity: During the scene where the princess' Mercedes is being viewed on radar, you see that the ship is headed toward Spaceball 1; however, in the next scene the princess is moving away from Spaceball 1.
Continuity: When Princess Vespa's Mercedes is being pulled into Spaceball one, the speed and position of the Mercedes changes.
Visible crew/equipment: After Dark Helmet drops Lone Starr's ring into the vent and Lone Starr tries to retrieve it there is a quick shot of Lone Starr getting up and backing up against the wall. If you look closely you can tell that it is a stunt double.
Audio problem: When Princess Vespa comes out of Yogurt's tunnel, she says, "Daddy, is it really you?" but her lips don't move.
Continuity: In the opening crawl, the letters are capitalized normally. However, in the scene where they are fast-forwarding through it, the opening crawl is in all capital letters.
Other: When Lone Starr drops the statue of Yogurt on Barf's foot, the statue actually lands beside his foot.
Continuity: When Lone Starr 'knocks out' the guard who was shaving, the guard's grey key card falls to his side, but in the next shot the key card is laying on his butt.
Continuity: In the scene where Dark Helmet is luring Princess Vespa outside, she awakens with the left strap of her wedding gown up and the right one down. However, when she steps outside, her left strap is down and her right strap is up.
Continuity: When Lonestar and Barf are at the diner after returning Princess Vespa to her father's castle, you see a creature burst out of a man's stomach. The creature then puts a hat on it's forehead and begins to sing while walking along the countertop. But later, just before the creature exits, the hat is on the middle of its head.
Continuity: When the ship is going to self-destruct, the P.A. says it will blow up in 3 minutes, but it takes longer than that.
Continuity: When the people that live with Yogurt go to help Captain Lone Starr and everyone else with him in the desert, three people go to help Barf and Dot, but when it shows each group two are helping Barf and two are helping Dot.
Revealing: Before Yogurt's statue falls on Barf's leg and makes it flat, you can see that his leg is already flat.
Continuity: When Helmet is trying to hit Lone Starr with his Schwartz but Lone Starr is holding his head, you can easily tell that Helmet's Schwartz is made shorter so it won't hit Lone Starr.
Continuity: When Barf and Lone Star are rescuing Dot and the princess for the first time (from the Mercedes), they position their ship over the Mercedes but facing the other way (ie. facing Spaceball 1). However, in the interior shots showing Lone Star in the cockpit, the view is just clear space. Spaceball 1 is a gigantic ship, and they are very close to it (as well as angled slightly up to it), together with Spaceball 1's "mouth" being open which makes the ship even bigger vertically. It should block their entire view, but it's not seen at all.
Continuity: When Vespa starts to run from the wedding, Valium isn't holding anything but as she goes by he is holding flowers. I don't think Vespa handed him her flowers as she ran by because the flowers he is holding are much smaller than the ones she had.
Continuity: When Colonel Sanders and Dark Helmet meet to discuss Vespa's disappearance, Dark Helmet looks into the periscope and sees Lone Star's ship right behind them. But when they show the periscope Dark Helmet is using there is no view from the other side. How can he see from the other side of the periscope with no window there?
Continuity: In the beginning of the movie, when Princess Vespa runs away from her wedding, she gets into a white vehicle. The next shot of the vehicle it is pink, then the next shot it is white again.
Deliberate "mistake": When Lone Starr and Barf rescue the princess and the 4 of them are trying to escape through the closing vertical door, if you look closely, you'll see that the door's hole goes from being really small when they're running, to really large when they reach it and jump through.
Continuity: In the scene where Dark Helmet and Col. Sanderz turn off the picture, they turn it back on and we see the nurse making out with the doctor. She hurriedly zips up her dress. However in the next shot her dress is unzipped again.
Visible crew/equipment: When Pizza the Hut is telling our heroes that they owe him money, watch his mouth. You can see the actor's real mouth appear a couple of times through the whole speech. The actor's chin is covered in the special effect pizza stuff, but you can still see his very human mouth every so often through this segment.
