Factual error: At the road block scene, the state trooper is wearing brown boots with his uniform. There's not a state trooper in Texas that wears brown boots in uniform. Black trooper boots are part of the Texas State Trooper uniform.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Jeff Bridges is sitting on the porch the red ashtray on the table next to him disappears from the table.

Factual error: A few issues related to the portrayal of Texas state troopers in the film. Most obviously, the patch worn on their uniforms is an anachronism, as that style has not been used since the 1990s and the film is set in the present day. There are also some smaller issues related to their vehicles - for example, the graphics and lights are slightly different from the real things, and the license plate numbers are inconsistent with the style used for actual highway patrol vehicles.

Audio problem: After the duo rob the restaurant, they're trying to escape through the small town. They're arguing during this scene. Chris Pine's mouth does not match the dialogue during one shot.

Question: Can someone be shot through the side and just duct tape the entry and exit holes? (Wouldn't the bullet have mushroomed in the body and not exited anyway?) If there were a real gunshot wound like that, how long until he bleeds out?

Answer: Duct taping the wounds may seal the injury and hold the bleeding, but it may not be effective. If something along the lines of this would happen in real life, it would be best to tend to the wounds properly in case of infection. Whether or not the bullet would get stuck inside the body depends on if whether or not the bullet hits something, that would cause it to get stuck inside the body. How long until someone would bleed out in real life depends on the severity of the gunshot wound and whether or not something major was hit.
