Continuity: When Jack walks into The Gold Room he turns the lights on and we see that the overhead lights illuminating the gold leaf ceiling on the left of the room, are lit. In the next shot as he sits down at the bar they are off.

Continuity: During Mr. Ullman's tour through The Colorado Lounge there were four lamps sitting on small tables next to the yellow sofas around the large table in the center of the room. As Danny drives his bike into The Colorado Room these four lamps have been removed.

Continuity: Wendy runs into The Colorado Lounge and wakes Jack from his nightmare. Before he falls to the floor there's a chair and a small table behind him against the wall. In the next shot of him and Wendy on the floor the table is there but the chair is gone.

Continuity: Looking straight out of the front door of their apartment at the end of the hall is an exit lamp. It's shining brightly as Wendy brings Jack his breakfast but then it's blown out when Jack returns from looking for the old women in room 237. Then when Jack says his famous line, "Wendy I'm home" it's been repaired.

Continuity: As Wendy and Jack talk about Danny there's a lamp on the left side of their bed. No one goes near it but as he storms out a few shots later, the lamp has disappeared.

Continuity: There's a pine tree on the side of the building to the left of the garage. At first during Mr. Ullman's tour it was tall and slender, now as Dick Halloran drives past in the Snowcat that tree has been removed and the new one resembles a perfect Christmas tree.

Other: Grady knocks on the storeroom door as Jack sleeps on a sack of rice. If you look closely his head wound is still bleeding but after he gets up there isn't a drop of blood on the sack of rice where his head just was.

Continuity: Wendy is in their apartment talking to herself trying to decide what she should do when Danny says, "Redrum" from his room. As she runs to him the overhead lamp on the right of his door is on, but in the next shot as she goes through the doorway the overhead light is coming from the opposite side.

Continuity: Jack leaves the bar holding a glass of clear golden Bourbon whiskey. After Delbert Grady bumps into him the drink changes and is now cloudy white.

Audio problem: Walking out of the bathroom of room 237, the old woman's cackling laughter is an obvious over-dub as it does not match her mouth movements.

Continuity: Danny and Wendy are out running in the snowstorm and we see a tree against the side of the building next to the garage. Earlier in the movie when they went out to walk in the hedge maze, we saw three trees there against the building.

Continuity: Mr. Ullman tells Jack, "Physically it's not a very demanding job" and the extinguished cigarette that has been laying across the glass ash tray on the right of the desk, for the entire scene disappears with out anyone going near it.

Deliberate "mistake": At Jack's interview Mr. Ullman's desk has a two tier organizer on the right side of it that is removed for the camera in the close-up of Bill Watson.

Continuity: Wendy drags Jack across the kitchen floor from the Colorado Lounge to the storeroom and we see one light switch to the right of the door. Earlier in the movie when Dick Hallorann took Wendy and Danny on the tour of the kitchen there were two light switches there.

Continuity: In the scene where Jack is talking through the door of the food closet he has been locked into, his right hand is leaning on a long thin door handle on his side of the door. However, a later shot of the door shows the same handle to be on the right hand side of the door, in which case in the earlier shot he would have been leaning on it with his left hand.

Other: Jack switches on the outdoor lights as he prepares to chase Danny into the hedge maze. When he hits the fifth switch a stage light blows out.

Continuity: As Jack leaves The Overlook and begins to chase Danny we see a very bright streetlamp "shining" in front of the Snowcat. Later as Danny and Wendy escape it's not there.

Continuity: Danny makes a left turn as he drives his tricycle around and he sees the two girls standing at the far end of the hallway. He doesn't move a muscle as he sits there looking at them but his hands are in different positions on the handgrips between shots.

Continuity: After Wendy looks at Jack's page in the typewriter she moves to her left and looks at the rest of his novel in the white box. If you look closely the top sheet is white but then in the next shot as she picks it up the top page is yellow.
