Other: Wendy hits Jack on his finger with the bat but as he recoils it's his wrist that he's holding.

Other: As Wendy drags Jack to the storeroom the clock on the wall shows 6:55. Almost three minutes later after she locks him up the clock has the same time on it. Wendy is wearing a wristwatch that reads the exact same time, which also doesn't change.

Continuity: Wendy drags Jack across the kitchen floor from the Colorado Lounge to the storeroom and she pulls him past the wooden table on the right twice between shots. We see this spot later as she sits crying and the edge of the table is straight across from the storeroom door. When we see him lying on the floor having passed the table he's right up against the door. In the next shot she starts pulling him from about ten feet further back covering ground we saw in the previous shot.

Continuity: It was 8:20AM when his plane landed and when Dick Hallorann calls his friend Larry at the garage the clock on the wall reads 9:07. When Larry asks him how long it will take to get there he says about five hours but in the next scene where we see him driving to Durkin's garage, it's obviously the middle of the night.

Continuity: Right after the shot of Dick Hallorann in the airplane there’s a shot of Jack typing from behind and his desk is moved ten feet in the direction of the grand piano. Later as Wendy comes down with the baseball bat it’s been moved back again.

Continuity: When Jack reaches in to pull out the radio's transistors his shirt isn't near the front of the radio, but in the next shot it's touching it.

Continuity: Wendy runs into The Gold Room and if you look closely the tables and chairs over by the bathroom doors have all been rearranged from the time Jack walked in, even though he never went near them.

Continuity: Mr. Ullman's office has shrubs outside of his window extending all the way up to the top pane, as we saw early in the movie when Jack had his interview. Now, as Wendy uses the radio to call the forest rangers, there's no shrubbery outside the window, only some distant trees.

Other: The miniature of the hedge maze is not accurate. As Jack leans onto the table we see 9 individual sections and 4 stone benches on the side to the left of the entrance. As Wendy and Danny walk past this spot on their way to explore the maze, there are 7 sections and 3 benches on the side to the left of the entrance closest to the Overlook. The front of the miniature has 3 sections to the left of the entrance but the actual maze has 2.

Continuity: As Danny goes up to the apartment to get his fire engine he looks at Jack sitting on the side of the bed and the drapes on the right to the screen (and the toilet paper in the bathroom) are moving from a ventilation fan. In the next shot as Jack looks at Danny standing in the doorway, the drapes are still.

Continuity: Danny stops in front of room 237 and turns to his left to look at the door. In the two consecutive shots where we see him, the hair around his bangs is combed differently.

Audio problem: After his scolding in the Colorado Lounge, Wendy walks away from Jack and we hear the over-dub of her heels on the hardwood floors even when she walks over the carpet.

Other: When Jack walks over to the miniature of the hedge maze we see the Overlook Hotel notice board on the wall in the center of the screen and it has exactly the same information written on it as when Jack walked past it on his way to Mr. Ullman's office for his interview. These notice boards tell of the events going on at the hotel and would have been changed daily or weekly if it were a real hotel, and he had the interview long before they closed for the winter.

Continuity: Dick Hallorannn discusses "Shining" with Danny and says, "How long have you been able to do it?" and we see a spoon sitting on the edge of the table behind and to the right of Danny. Several shots later Danny talks about Tony and says, "It's like I go to sleep, and he shows me things", and the spoon is gone.

Continuity: Danny is throwing darts in the playroom as the two girls appear to him. If you look at the foosball table against the wall it moves between shots as the left corner of it has a different picture above each time we see it. The small billiard tables behind Danny also move.

Visible crew/equipment: Mr. Ullman shows Jack and Wendy their room and we see the shadow of the cameraman on their backs as they walk in.

Continuity: In the living room there are several books behind the pediatrician's head as she sits talking to Wendy. If you look at the first two they get knocked over between shots.

Continuity: The American flag on Mr. Ullman's desk moves six inches to the right between shots than bounces back again in relation to his silver pen holder.

Continuity: As he brushes his teeth, the camera zooms in on Danny while he's talking to Tony. There are several black marks next to and below the light switch in his room. Later when the pediatrician examines him the black marks are gone.

Continuity: As she's looking for him, Wendy walks with the bat into the back of The Colorado Lounge and says Jack's name. She turns around and walks over to the typewriter and if you look closely rugs on the left of the room beneath the chairs appear between shots.
