Continuity: Mr. Ullman greets Jack as he walks into his office for the interview and we see a statue of an eagle sitting on the center of his window. The statue is in some shots and not in others during the interview.

Continuity: In the first aerial shot of the Overlook Hotel just before Jack walks in the front door, there are three yellow cars in the front parking lot and if you look at there hoods none of them are Volkswagen beetles.

Continuity: While breaking down the bathroom door with the axe, Jack repeatedly strikes and damages the right hand panel, but as he turns away from the door (when he hears the snow-cat) both left and right panels have been damaged.

Revealing: In the scene where the barman drops the drinks on Jack Nicholson, the cups are fixed to the tray. This is seen when the barman takes the tray up from the floor, and in the next scene, when he puts it on the table at the bathroom.

Continuity: Someone knocked the snow off the outside of the bathroom window as Wendy goes to open it. There was plenty there when she opened the bathroom door.

Continuity: When Jack reaches through the door you can see his shoulder coming through a little. Then in the very next shot when Wendy swings the knife he's not there.

Continuity: There are two ceiling lights above Jack's head when he first looks into the bathroom in room 237. The next time we see the bathroom one shot later, there's only one.

Other: As Dick Hallorann arrives in the Sno-Cat Jack is still upstairs in the apartment. 25 seconds of uninterrupted movie time goes by and we see Jack, limping and barely able to move, in the kitchen chasing after Danny. Earlier in the movie it took Danny almost two minutes on his speedy trike to navigate the bottom of the building and 25 seconds just isn't enough time for lame Jack to get down from the apartment to the kitchen.

Continuity: In the long shot of Wendy hanging out of the bathroom window only the spotlight on the roof above her head is on. A few shots later when Dick Hallorann drives up two other spotlights on the roof to the left of her are now on.

Continuity: When Danny looks at the two girls at the beginning of the movie, the chairs around the card table closest to him move between shots.

Continuity: When Danny walks into The Colorado Lounge we see three rugs on his left near the windows. Earlier in the movie when he rode his trike through this area he went over five rugs with the last two being near the stairs.

Continuity: After he turns the lights on Jack walks into The Gold Room and we see a standard phone against the wall near the light switch. When we saw this spot earlier in the movie during Mr. Ullman's tour there was a princess phone there.

Continuity: Wendy passes a wooden statue on her right just before she turns the corner in the back of the lobby and sees Dick Halloran's body lying on the floor. In the next shot we see a close-up of her and the statue is gone.

Continuity: Looking for his fire engine, Danny walks into the apartment as Jack sits on the bed and we can see the blue oval wall picture that hangs above their headboard. In the next shot of him sitting with Danny the picture is gone only to reappear later.

Continuity: Wendy runs from the boiler room through the kitchen into The Colorado Lounge as she hears Jack screaming from the nightmare he's having. We distinctly see her pass two vending machines on her right but when we saw this spot before as Danny took his trike ride near the beginning of the movie, there were three vending machines across from the staircase.

Continuity: At the end of the movie Danny runs into the hedge maze entrance and the Overlook is missing on the left of the shot. It's there earlier in the movie during Mr. Ullman's tour when we see the exact same spot. There is no blinding snowstorm and as we see in the map and on the miniature of the hedge maze there's only one entrance.

Continuity: Jack takes only one swing at Dick Hallorann and we can see that there's not much blood on his coat as he goes down. A couple of seconds later as Jack walks away there's a lot of blood all over the place, especially above the wound where it shouldn't be.

Continuity: After he axes through the bathroom door Jack ends up chasing Danny through the kitchen and walking past the store room he was just locked up in. If you look closely the back wall of the store room has been rearranged considerably with boxes now stacked at least six foot high extending past and covering the prominent no smoking sign that we saw earlier.

Continuity: Jack walks into Mr. Ullman's office to break the radio and the lights come on before he reaches the light switch.

Other: After Jack takes the fall down the steps the film jumps as the cameraman pans too quickly to the right and hits something.
