Continuity: When Jack walks in on Wendy going through his typing he startles her and as she picks up the baseball bat she doesn't have time to make sure that the name is facing the camera, and it isn't. Continuity: Before Dick Hallorann calls Durkin's garage, Larry is outside with a customer and as he walks in there's a big pile of snow on the left and right side of the door. In the next shot from inside the garage the pile of snow is not there. (Time) Submitted by ????

Continuity: As Wendy goes through Jack's typing she reads 21 lines as she rolls the sheet up through the typewriter carriage. We see in the close-up how the piece of paper is inserted in the typewriter and when we see it again after she pulls it up, it hasn't moved and is in exactly the same position as it was before she read it. Continuity: The stock footage of the jet that we see landing at Stapleton Airport is not the same airplane we saw Dick Hallorann flying in a few shots before. Continuity: Mr. Ullman's office has shrubs outside of his window extending all the way up to the top pane, as we saw early in the movie when Jack had his interview. Continuity: As Danny brushes his teeth, look closely at the door to his room on the left of the screen. The next time we see the door as he’s examined by the pediatrician items on it have moved around with the most noticeable being the removal of the red-capped yellow smurf on the right. Continuity: As Jack and Danny sit on the bed talking, the lampshade behind them is in direct light. In the next shot as Jack says, "Did your mother ever say that you?" the lighting has been changed and the lampshade is in their shadow. This happens several times throughout the scene. Continuity: Wendy bothers Jack as he's typing and he pulls an uncrumpled sheet of paper that we saw in a previous shot directly out of his typewriter. He holds the paper in his hand and we hear nothing, but when we see it again as he says to Wendy, "I'm not… being grouchy," the paper has obviously been crumpled up then uncrumpled again and reused. Continuity: When Danny stops in front of room 237 his left wheel rests on the red design in the center of the carpet. He doesn't move an inch as he looks at the door but the next time we see him from behind the wheels are not in the same spot on the carpet. (Time) Submitted by ????

Continuity: As Jack walks over to the table with the miniature of the hedge maze on it look closely at the ten hedge maze peaks on the outer wall closest to the camera; they are all there. In the next shot as he looks over it the fifth one is broken off. (Time) Submitted by ????

Continuity: As Wendy and Danny run into the hedge maze the sun is shining directly on their backs. In the next shot as they run inside the maze, it's totally overcast. Other: When Jack walks over to the miniature of the hedge maze we see the Overlook Hotel notice board on the wall in the center of the screen and it has exactly the same information written on it as when Jack walked past it on his way to Mr. Ullman's office for his interview. These notice boards tell of the events going on at the hotel and would have been changed daily or weekly if it were a real hotel, and he had the interview long before they closed for the winter. Continuity: As Dick Hallorannn discusses "Shining" with Danny over ice cream, there are several stacks of plates on the cart behind them near his office, and they are all stacked evenly with each other. No one else is working in this area but when we saw this spot before as Dick Hallorannn showed Danny and Wendy the storeroom the second stack of plates was only half the height of the stack on the right.
