Continuity: In the close-up of Jack as he says that famous line, "Wendy I'm home", the splinters hanging off the door to right of his face have been removed between shots.

Continuity: Look closely at the moving blue oval painting above their bed as Jack sits Wendy down and says, "He must have gone into that the room". Earlier in the movie during Mr. Ullman's tour it was hanging about six inches lower.

Visible crew/equipment: As Wendy talks to Jack, a battered Danny walks into the Colorado Lounge and a second shadow of a crew member can be seen moving across the steps on his right.

Continuity: As Jack walks into The Gold Room for the first time and meets Lloyd the bartender, the sign outside the bar is on a different stand then it was before during Mr. Ullman's tour of the hotel.

Continuity: Before Jack switches on the outdoor lights the Snow cat is facing the door he's standing in. A few seconds later he starts to chase Danny and the Snow cat is now at a 45 degrees angle to the front of the door.

Other: While looking for Danny, Wendy runs into an older bloodied gentleman in the back of the lobby who says to her, "Great party isn't it?" and she turns around and runs away into the kitchen. They cut back to Danny running away from Jack than back to Wendy 24 seconds later. She's now in the hallway to the right of the lobby (at the Gold Room entrance) just about to enter and find it covered in cobwebs and filled with skeletons. The problem is Wendy is coming from the wrong place and it would have taken more than 23 seconds to get there. She entered the kitchen from the far end of the lobby and would have to walk back through the lobby in order to get to the area of the hallway behind The Gold Room entrance.

Continuity: Danny sits on the carpet playing with his toys, looks up and says, "Mom". If you look closely the toys move between shots with the blue and yellow trucks on the outsides being rearranged.

Continuity: Jack walks into The Gold Room and there's a party going on. We see the wall on the left side of the door and there's no light switch as he walks in.

Continuity: In the final shot of the movie the camera is zooms in on Jack's picture (July 4th 1921) and the bright red couch that has been in front of it for the entire movie is now gone.

Audio problem: Wendy says to Danny , "I'm just goanna go and talk to daddy for a few minutes, and I'll be right back". and in the background you can hear that Danny is watching "The Road Runner" cartoon. If you listen closely the volume gets lower at the end of the shot without anyone touching the volume control.

Continuity: In the storeroom scene someone fixed up those boxes that Jack knocked over when he first got up.

Continuity: In the scene at the beginning of the film, when Doc and Mr. Hallorann are eating ice cream, if you pay attention to Danny's hands, they move from folded in front of the ice cream bowl, to the back, and so on. They move about 5 times, each different.

Continuity: In The Gold Room the rows of red chairs on the right side have all moved about three feet to the left in relation to the design on the carpet underneath as Wendy runs in.

Continuity: When Jack walks up to The Gold Room the second time the two plants in vases on the left side of the hallway are different. They change each time we see the hallway, during Mr. Ullman's tour and when Jack walks into The Gold Room the first time.

Continuity: It took Jack 45seconds (17 ax blows) to break down the 1st door , 40 seconds (12 ax blows) to break down the 2nd, yet there are only 20 seconds (0 ax blows) from the cut on the hand till they show Wendy again with the other panel of the door axed out. There isn't enough time.

Continuity: If you compare the map of the maze posted outside on the actual maze (visible when Wendy and Danny first run inside it), to the model of the maze Jack looks at in the hotel which pans down to Wendy and Danny walking through it, the two maps look nothing alike.

Continuity: When Shelly Duvall is crying, backing up the stairs and swinging a bat at Jack Nicholson, the positions of both of their arms and the bat change dramatically as the camera shots switch back and forth between them.

Revealing: The snow at the end of the movie is very obviously fake.
