Continuity: At the end of the movie there is the chase scene through the hedge maze in the dead of winter in Colorado. While Jack Nicholson runs after his son in a winter setting you cannot see their breath in what would be the cold night air.

Continuity: Wendy walks up to Jack as he's typing and there's an open book to the right of the typewriter that has articles and pictures in it. No one touches it but after she leaves we see this book again opened to a different page without any pictures.

Continuity: The color of Jack's Adler ("eagle") typewriter changes. In the beginning of the movie it's cream colored than as Wendy finds him slumped over the chair having his bad dream it's blue. There's also a blue sticker on the cream colored typewriter to the left of the name Adler, that isn't on the other typewriter.

Continuity: Wendy runs outside looking for Danny and she ends up right next to the Sno-Cat. There's hardly any snow on the driver side door but the next time we see it two shots later the door and the treads are now full of snow.

Continuity: Wendy opens up the bathroom window and tries to climb outside and in the close-up, her right arm and head are through the window. In the next shot both her arms and head are outside of the window.

Continuity: Jack starts to break down the front door of their apartment with his ax as Wendy runs into the bathroom and opens the window three quarters of the way as she tries to get out. In the next shot from outside the window is almost closed.

Continuity: In The Colorado Lounge, Wendy goes through the box of Jack's typewritten pages and we see the seam of the table run underneath the middle of the box. Several shots later as Jack walks in, the box has been moved and the seam runs underneath the top of it. One could say Wendy moved the box when she went threw it, but she didn't touch the jar of pencils, which in both shots stays in exactly the same spot relative to the box.

Other: Jack holds the door for Delbert Grady as they walk into the restroom and the sign between the two doors reads, "Toilets and Powder Room" as the crew made the place look like it might have been back in the 20s. Earlier in the movie when Jack walks into The Gold Room for the first time a sign isn't there, and this is a mistake because (the first time we see the bathroom doors) the crew neglected to put any sign on them or between them at all, which a real hotel would have at the restroom door.

Continuity: Danny makes a left turn and stops dead on the left side of the blue carpet as he sees the two girls standing at the far end of the hallway. They cut away to a close-up of his face and then back again and he and his trike have moved six inches to the right and he's now in the center of the carpet. His hood has also been rearranged between shots.

Continuity: Jack throws a tennis ball down the hall before he walks over to the miniature of the hedge maze. All the chairs have been rearranged in respect to the designs on the floor underneath them from when we saw Wendy walk past the same spot as she brought Jack his breakfast.

Continuity: Wendy and Danny run out of The Overlook to explore the hedge maze and it's clear to see that there are no outdoor lights hanging from the bottom part of the roof. Later we see this spot again as Wendy and Danny play during the snowstorm, and now outdoor lights have been added above the top windows.

Continuity: While Jack is leaning on the table with the miniature of the hedge maze on it and the right side of his collar has no sunlight from the window on it. In the next shot of him looking down at the miniature, a shadow appears on his collar.

Revealing: When Jack looks down at the miniature hedge maze and sees Wendy and Danny walking around, the mat painting that surrounds the actual image in the center is not accurate as the gravel is a different color and not as bright.

Continuity: The glass of orange juice in the front of the breakfast tray that Wendy wheels in to Jack is almost filled to the brim. By the time Jack gets to drink it in the next shot the glass is only half full.

Continuity: At the interview no one touches it but Jack's cup on the right front of Mr. Ullman's desk rotates between shots by 45 degrees during the interview.
