Scream 3 (2000) - 35 mistakes

Continuity: In the scene where Gail and Dewey find the killer's voice changer, Gale's hands are clean, but when it shows her hands picking up the device, there's dried blood on them. But when it shows her hands again, the blood's gone.

Continuity: When the killer and Sydney are locked in the screen room together and the killer slits the movie producer's throat, if you watch closely when he's talking to Sydney and waving the knife around that in the first shot there's blood on the knife and then it goes to Sydney and back on the killer and when it cuts back there is no blood on the knife. It then again goes back to Sydney, then back to the killer and the blood has magically reappeared on the knife.

Continuity: After the killer chases down Tyson smashes him into the cabinet and throws him off the balcony you can see the black fabric of the mat fly up after the stunt double landed on it.

Continuity: When Sidney is fighting the killer, when ever a big stunt comes up, the killer's hair gets lighter.

Plot hole: It has already been mentioned that a certain shot reveals that Sydney isn't wearing the bullet-proof vest when she should be. Further to this, most of the shots in the climax sequence make it impossible for her to be wearing one, as you can see the contours of her chest throughout. A bullet-proof vest would flatten the appearance of this.

Plot hole: How did Kincaid get a picture of Syd from the Delta Lambda Zeta party in part 2? No one took any pictures of her. Aside from that, anyone who's seen pictures of Neve Campbell online will know that that's a publicity shot from Scream 2 rather than something intended to be a "real" photo.

Continuity: At the start of the movie when Cotton's girlfriend is being stalked by the killer, he stabs his knife through her bedroom door making a few large holes, especially with the first stab mark. Later, when Cotton finally gets to the house and is lookng for his girlfriend, he goes up to her door and there are now far smaller holes in the door, all in a nice pattern.

Audio problem: When Tyson is running down the stairs he yells something but his lips don't move.

Continuity: At the end of the movie, after Dewey asks Gill to marry him, Gill lays one on Dewey. She leans to the left of his face when they start kissing, and at a cut away long shot she suddenly is kissing on the right... then the close up is back at the left!

Continuity: When Sarah (the one who's supposed to play 'Candy') is stabbed, her blood is dried when she slumps over the door.

Continuity: When Sidney is first going into the house for the end of the movie it is clear that she is not wearing the vest underneath her clothes and as she is walking around or when she is rolling on the ground fighting with her half brother you see her bellybutton but then she has the vest on and it goes over the belly button

Continuity: In the first killing scene, the study which both Cotton and his girlfriend end up in has a white ceiling with a skylight. But when Cotton is stabbed and looks up at his killer the ceiling is light orange with beams across it.

Continuity: In the scene where Sydney is boarding the school bus, when the bus doors are fully open there is a reflection of a stop sign attached to the bus but it is not on the bus.

Factual error: In the beginning of the movie, the killer calls Cotton on his cell phone. When the killer hangs up on him, you hear a dial tone. When someone cuts you off on a cell phone, you don't get a dial tone.

Continuity: The first time Gale goes to Jennifer's house, if you look when Dewy gets out of his car the window is down. Look quickly to see when Dewy closes the door the window is up.

Continuity: The second time Gale shows up at Jennifer's driveway (right before the place blows up), one can clearly hear her turn off the lights and remove the keys from her car. Yet, when she opens the door, the car still makes that beeping noise that happens when you leave your headlights on or leave your ignition key in the ignition.

Continuity: Gail's bangs change lengths throughout the film.

Continuity: When Gale finds Roman in the coffin, there's no blood on Roman's elbow when the shot is closing in on the coffin. When Gale opens the coffin, the elbow is covered in blood.

Continuity: In the scene where the actors, Gail and Dewey are hanging around in Jennifer's house, they realize a fax is coming through. When Jennifer first approaches the machine, notice that there is actually no paper in the machine. A few shots later, the paper supply has suddenly been replenished.

Continuity: When the bodyguard finds Gale eavesdropping on Dewey and Jennifer, they soon confront each other and Tom is sitting in a chair with his left hand on the arm rest. In the next shot Tom is smoking a half finished cigarette with his left hand, but he had no time to change the hand with the cigarette in it between shots.

Continuity: In Scream 2 Dewey walks with a limp and his right arm curled up. In Scream 3 he walks with a limp and his left arm curled up.

Continuity: In the scene where Jennifer gets killed and falls through the mirror look at Dewey's hair it's all messed up, but in the scene right after that when Dewey and Gale are looking for Tyson his hair's all combed back again.

Continuity: When Martha Meeks sees Sidney outside the door in Sunrise Studios, Detective Kincaids partner and a black officer runs up to her, thinking that she is a criminal, and next time you see them two the black officer is not there, but a different person.

Continuity: In the scene where Gale, Dewey, Tom, Angelina and Jennifer are at Jennifer's house, they receive a rewrite of the script page in the fax machine. When the 2nd page comes out, the writing on them is spaced together. When we get a close-up of it, the writing on the page is more spaced out.

Continuity: In the beginning when the killer is trying to kill Cotton, he pulls a book case on the killer, but if you look carefully you see that the killer slides to the side, despite the fact that the book case is meant to have hit him.

Audio problem: When the killer has on his mask and you hear "the voice," he does not need to use the changer to mask his voice. But we see that it is just a plain old Halloween mask.

Continuity: Dewey rolls down a hill after shooting at the killer. The cut on his forehead changes shape from circular to two parallel lines then to a straight line and a waved one.

Continuity: When Sydney is talking to the killer in the police station, her phone has a "Nokia" sticker on the bottom of it.  Later in the scene, it's gone.

Continuity: When Jenny McCarthy goes to the office to meet the director. She's calling out his name to see if he's there & calls " Roman.......Ronin.......Roman".

Continuity: The ice pick remains free of blood even when Sid has stabbed the killer with it twice.

Continuity: When Sarah tries to fix Roman's statue's head, her hair is over her face, when she goes to answer the phone her hair is pulled back behind her ear.

Continuity: At the part where Sidney is on the set of her house and the killer is chasing her up the stairs, she runs right by the plants, but in the next take she is right next to the plants just about to throw one.

Continuity: In the scene where Dewey and Gale are having lunch, Dewey asks her "Why would the police come to you?" In the background, a waitress in white walks by. Then they switch to Gale and the waitress has vanished.

Continuity: When the house blows up and Dewey, Gale and Jennifer jump off the balcony, we find that Gale is near the car, the killer jumps up behind her and Dewy takes a shot at him with a gun and it is obvious that the killer purposely slams himself against the car window to make the gun look powerful.

Continuity: At the end of the movie when Sidney is lying on the floor, Roman is pointing the gun to her head about to kill her.  The gun is clearly pointing to her head/neck area when he shoots, but Sidney still lives and shows him she was wearing the vest.  The vest protects her chest and Roman shot her in the head.
