Scary Movie (2000) - 56 mistakes

Continuity: During the scene when Cindy and the killer are fighting Matrix-style, Cindy kicks the killer, and he knocks down the book case so it falls over him. There is a vase with flowers on the book case - when it falls down the vase still remains on the book case, glued to it.

Continuity: Near the beginning Buffy tears off her dress and throws it on the ground. When they walk away there's no sign of it.

Revealing: During the final party scene, where Cindy is wearing a Viking Hat and yells with joy as she drinks from a "Beer Bong", if you look closely, right before they pan to Cindy, you can see that the hose of the "Beer Bong" is not attached to the funnel, or anything for that matter...it is just held alongside it.

Continuity: In the scene where Buffy and Cindy get dressed in the locker room, a girl standing right next to Buffy first drops her towel to get dressed and a few seconds later has the towel wrapped around again.

Continuity: When the six characters are imitating the scene of I Know What You Did Last Summer, they get out of the car after it has spun around. All of the headlights are on, the two yellow and the two white. Later, if you look behind them, the left headlight is off.

Continuity: When the killer jumps up behind Ray and stabs him through the back with the hook, we see he obviously gets lots of blood on it. Watch it when he goes to stab Cindy and misses. It hits the cupboard and is completely clean. The hook is clean for the rest of the time he has it.

Continuity: In the scene where the killer is in Cindy's house, the killer is hiding behind the couch.  When you see shots of the killer, the cell phone is in his right hand and the hook is in his left. When she notices him and he stands up, the phone is in his left hand and the hook is in his right.

Continuity: At the end of the Matrix scene he throws Cindy into the wall, look when she hits the wall there is no sign of hitting the wall, but when she is falling to the ground they is an imprint like an oval on the wall.

Continuity: In the scene where Ray is killed, the killer stabs Ray with his hook. Ray's shirt is not bloody, but as he falls it is. Then when he lands on top of Bobby his shirt once more is clean.

Continuity: At the very start of the film when Cindy hears a noise outside her window and goes to check, she was on her computer. But if you look closely when she stands up you can see that the computer isn't even switched on.

Continuity: The guy who stands up through the car's sun-roof, during the flashback, is holding an empty bottle, but when he is at the top of the car the bottle is nearly full.

Continuity: When the bottle is dropped in the car, it hits Cindy on the head and falls down in front of her. When Greg gets out he now has the bottle.

Continuity: When the gang hit the guy with the car they all get out. When Greg gets out he only has the bottle in his hand but when the camera returns he is holding a flashlight

Continuity: In the scene after they look at Greg's report card, Ray has his hand on Brenda's ass, in the next angle it is on her shoulder.

Continuity: In the scene where they hit the fisherman, they spin the car. Notice the yellow line, they are somewhat over it in one scene, then in the next the line in to the right of the car, not under it.

Revealing: When Cindy's dad gets his head stuck in the doorway at the start, to see if Cindy is okay, his head is not stuck as you can see a small space to the side of his face. It's not a lot, but enough to not get stuck.

Continuity: At the start just after Drew is seen in the line of the sprinklers, the killer is seen walking towards her with his knife held high in his right hand. If you look closely in this shot you can see blood on the knife despite not stabbing Drew yet. In the next shot it is gone.

Continuity: Near the end of the movie, when Ray is stabbing Bobby, Cindy says "You've watched one to many T.V. shows." Ray points the knife at her. At this point the knife is in his left hand but when he turns back round to stab Bobby again the knife is back in his right hand. There is not enough time for him to swap hands between shots.

Factual error: When Greg gets murdered and Cindy, Bobby, and Buffy are trying to figure out what happened, you can see the killer is mopping up the blood. However the floor is carpeted so the blood wouldn't clean up, it would smear instead.

Visible crew/equipment: When the teens are all standing out side and the teacher is ready to jump form the school building. As he is jumping you can see the shadow of the scaffold he jumped from in the left bottom hand corner of the screen.

Revealing: When Cindy is in the bath and she starts to shave her face, she repeatedly shaves the long head hair which has fallen over her face, and yet it is obvious none of it comes away with the razor, indicating there isn't a blade in it at all.

Continuity: In the flashback of the gang killing the fisherman, Shortie drives up in his car and just as someone says, "Brenda take care of them" there is a shot of the car with no smoke inside it. The camera cuts to a view of Brenda approaching and the car is full of smoke.

Continuity: In the scene when Ray goes to the restroom while at the theater there are men urine racing.There are five urinals. The man with the white hat is to left. The man with a black cap is to the far right.when the third man from the left is declared winner.The man with the white hat shifts right one space and the man with the black hat takes his old spot.

Visible crew/equipment: At the start, just before Drew grabs the banana, a boom mic is in view in the window behind her.

Continuity: During the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" sequence, after they swerve and hit the fisherman, their car is directly on the lines, but in the next shot it's not on the lines, then they are again.

Continuity: When Buffy comes up to Greg and he is banging his fist up against the locker and cussing, you see his report card in on hand and you can see the outlining of the subjects but there is no "DUMB-ASS" stamp on it, but in the close-up there is.

Continuity: When Bobby and Cindy slowly begin to make-out on her bed there is a TV set behind them, but after Bobby gets his finger shocked on Cindy's "underwear" and the both of them get up to leave, the TV set is gone.

Continuity: When Bobby spews out, ahem, "the white stuff," it is all over the roof, but when it cuts back to Cindy and Bobby, it's not on the roof anymore.

Revealing: When the teacher jumps it's clear the ground is a mattress with grass and leaves over it. Soil would not bend the amount it does, even with someone jumping off the roof of a building.

Continuity: When Cindy has kicked the killer out of the window she runs over to her dad. His hands are supposed to be tied, but the ties are actually already loose.

Continuity: When Cindy is dancing in the air after kicking the killer, she is very obviously a CGI.

Revealing: When Cindy is thrown into the wall just before the Matrix style fight, the wall bends, showing it is made of rubber or foam to protect Anna Faris.

Audio problem: In the scene in the teacher's classroom, when the teacher says "I'll see you after class". Two guys say "Sweet" and "Alright" and high five each other. However, their mouths don't move at all.

Deliberate "mistake": When Drew goes to answer the door to the trick-or-treaters, the table to the left of the door has nothing on it. Yet when Drew sees the killer, a banana, grenade, knife and gun are now lined up on it.

Continuity: When Sidney is running up the stairs and throwing the bicycle and piano at the killer the staircase is straight but when she goes to open the door and sees Doofy, if you look behind her the stairs are spiral.

Continuity: When Buffy is getting out of her Dad's car and starts to walk over to Brenda and Cindy, she steps over a curb in the street. When the shot faces Brenda and Cindy, instantly Buffy approaches them and has already crossed that big street.

Continuity: When Bobby and Cindy are in her room the first time and they're laying on the bed, in one scene it shows a TV next to her bed. The next shot it is gone. Then when Bobby starts to go out the window the TV appears again.

Visible crew/equipment: After the garage door comes down on the garage victim, a hand can be seen from the outside pushing her boot off her foot as she's franticly kicking her feet.

Continuity: In the scene in the bedroom between Cindy and Bobby, just before he explains about sucking on a tootsie pop, Cindy's hair is all messed up. Camera cuts and it is fairly different.

Revealing: When the killer is getting kicked into the glass cabinet you can see a string pulling the glass so it will break.

Revealing: At the end in the "Matrix" fight scene, the killer throws Cindy against the wall, which moves at the top. Watch the gap at the top of the wall.

Continuity: In the scene where there's a party at Cindy's house, two kids behind her are drinking liquor out of bottles that are completely upside-down, but the level of liquid remains constant.

Audio problem: The judge's mouth doesn't move when he says, "Must be an original piece" about Buffy's dramatic reading at the pageant.

Continuity: When Ray hands Bobby the tape to put on in the flashback it is in a case, however, Bobby puts it on without taking it out of the case.

Continuity: Just after Brenda drops the first beer bottle, her hands are out in the "don't shoot" position. The camera cuts and she is holding the bottle in both hands.

Visible crew/equipment: In the beginning of the movie in the scene where Cindy and Bobby are in Cindy's bedroom,the Dawson's Creek theme song just starts to play and in the bottom left hand side of the window, just before Dawson pops up and says "Wrong set" you will notice someone dressed in black start to creep up for a second, then Dawson pops up.

Audio problem: When Brenda is in the movie theater, people are hurting her and yelling at her, but no one's mouth moves.

Continuity: When Ray is with Brenda in bed, and she get out, we can see her pillow in one form, and in the next scene is in another form.

Continuity: When Ray tells Brenda to put on his football gear, he hands Brenda his shoulder pads. When Brenda accepts these she has two braids hanging down in front of her. The camera cuts to Ray for a second then back to Brenda. When the camera has cut back the two braids have moved over her shoulder. She couldn't have moved them with her hands as she is holding Ray's shoulder pads with both hands.

Continuity: When there are shots of the popcorn cooking on the stove, growing larger, in some shots there is a popcorn wrapper to the right of the stove, in others there isn't. Also Drew puts a silver salt pot down to the right of the stove, which has disappeared in later shots.

Revealing: When the man in a striped shirt stabs Brenda at the movie theatre, he pulls the knife out and there is no blood on it.

Continuity: In the scene where Cindy was fighting the killer Matrix style, she threw a brass ornament at the killer like a Frisbee and the killer dodged it, and the brass ornament should have gone out of the window by smashing through it. But the window was broken by the killer flying out of the window after Cindy kicked him/her. The brass ornament has mysteriously disappeared into thin air.

Continuity: When Greg confronts Ray about the picture he found in the locker room, he shows them all and they start laughing. Buffy is on the left part of the screen, (on Cindy's right side), then Cindy explains that she got a note. Then when she says: "Somebody knows.", Buffy is more to the right (or left of the screen) than before. Then when Cindy says they have to call the police, Buffy's back to where she was at first.

Continuity: After they dump the body in the water, Greg tries to get Cindy to agree to the pact. When she doesn't he starts strangling her. When he lets go, Cindy starts to reach her hands to her neck but in the very next shot her hands are at her sides.

Continuity: After Heather is campaigning in the hallway of the school and giving out flyers, Buffy grabs the flyer and lets go of it, and is holding nothing. In the next scene where Buffy, Brenda and Cindy walk over to their boyfriends, Buffy all of a sudden has a folder, some books and a banana in one hand.

Revealing: In the scene where Greg and everyone are doing the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" parody, Greg has a Jack Daniels bottle. After Bobby turns on the music Greg pushes himself up to the sun-roof. If you watch carefully the bottle bends as he pushes himself up.
