Trivia

In RoboCop 2, the little league coach has no lines, appears on screen for a few moments, and even gets a listing in the credits at the end of the film. The same actor also appears in RoboCop 3 as the guy who defends the rebel base against Otomo, (he hits him with the metal pole), and even though he has several lines and appears on screen for a fair bit, he gets no listing in the credits for the film. Mistake Other: When Robocop is being repaired by the homeless guys, you can see clearly his stomach going up and down as he breathes. If he's mechanical he shouldn't be breathing, and even if they kept that bit of his innards, he's covered in a titanium shell so we shouldn't be able to see anything moving anyway.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the 2 Ninja robots fight, the robot on the left loses his head before the blade strikes.

Mistake Factual error: When Robocop flies through the window of the top floor of the OCP building, the Rehab leader's hair blows around. Being that high up, that is absolutely correct. But after the ninjas appear, there is no longer any wind and no one's hair moves. "Robocop 2" tells us that the OCP skyscrapper is sixty stories high. There would be a constant "breeze" with the window busted open.

Mistake Plot hole: At the end of the film, the Rehabs recruit gang members and give them all kinds of guns from shotguns, handguns, and automatic weapons. The cops and deputized citizens have similiar weapons. But for all the shooting, not one gang member is hit and only one citizen appears to be shot (aside from the three blown off the building roof by the Rehab tank.) I don't think anyone has any bullets.

Mistake Continuity: When Robo gets his arm chopped off by Otomo, he stands up and in Robovision, you see that he needs power, but you cannot see Otomo who is supposedly right in front of him.

Mistake Other: Next to the end, just before that OCP building explodes, when robocop flies carring both girls to get out of the office you can see the wires that make this possible.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When RoboCop gets kicked to the ground by Otomo in the underground base, we see a shot of him looking around before he takes out his gun. During the long shot of him looking around, you can see his gun already lying on the ground, yet he hasn't taken it out of his leg yet.

Mistake Revealing: When RoboCop has his forearm cut off, you can see Robert Burke's arm covered in black material poking out from beind his back. The arm appears again a few times during this scene.

Mistake Plot hole: When the elevator door sticks, he pushes the thick metal doors outward as though they were made of tinfoil. But when he reaches the room, he shoots out a silhouette in a flimsy wooden door to get in. How stupid. Total waste of ammunition and spoils the surprise factor.

Mistake Revealing: When RoboCop gets his hand cut off by Otomo, he stands up and looks around him. We are given a normal shot of the base, but the screen moves in time with RoboCop's head movements. Surely this shot should have been the 'lined' picture that RoboCop has for his POV shots, and not the normal camera view we were given.

Mistake Continuity: When RoboCop is shot outside the church, he falls backwards against a door. As he then falls to the ground following this, watch his feet. You can see Robert John Burke's feet underneath the metal suit.

Mistake Continuity: When RoboCop chases the van in the pimp's car, there is a view of the car driving without a roof, yet the roof is only blasted off in the next shot, after which we see the now roof-less car again.

Mistake Plot hole: RoboCop kills two rehabs and they fall through the motel window. Nobody in the motel seems concerned though; not even the owner, who has had his window destroyed and now has two dead bodies lying in the entrance hall.

Mistake Continuity: When RoboCop goes back to the underground base, there is a wide shot of him looking around him, and there is nothing on the floor. RoboCop takes 4 steps infront of him and we are then shown a map right at his feet. It wasn't there a second ago.

Mistake Plot hole: What was the point of leaving the three men to guard the abandoned base? They would have stood no chance against any search patrol and would have simply given the Rehabs the map to the real base (on one of the three men). And why did the man even have that transparency with the red path, when he had no map to use it with? It was useless to him without a map, and only would have been a liability if he had been killed.

Mistake Other: When Lazarus and the head of security concepts are talking about removing RoboCop's emotions, the other doctor speaks up and says that they could install a "microneuro barrier" that would block his emotions. He pulls the bag containing the chip from his lab coat without even looking at the pocket, conveniently. Seems a little unbelievable that someone would carry around a single purpose chip and know exactly where it was if RoboCop hadn't previously been giving them any problems.

Mistake Continuity: When RoboCop gets hit by the grenade launcher outside the church he flies backwards and suffers heavy damage. Yet, later in the film, he sets fire to a huge pile of explosives right beside him, and they have no effect on him whatsoever, even though they do manage to send a rehab several feet in the air and he is nowhere near the explosives. Surely RoboCop should have been damaged slightly or have even moved when the explosives went off.

Mistake Continuity: RoboCop storms out of the underground base taking with him his hand attachment, but when he arrives at the police station he has the hand attachment on. A few scenes later he arrives at McDaggetts hotel, and now does not have the hand attachment on, and is back to using his normal gun. Then, when he returns to the underground base, he still is using his normal hand and drops the hand attachment on the ground. So in between all these scenes, where was he keeping his hand and the attachment? He was on foot all the time, and he obviously wasn't carrying them both...

Mistake Continuity: When Otomo cuts off RoboCop's hand, RoboCop easily places his attachment in place of it and continues fighting. But his arm needed to be screwed off, and Otomo made a clean cut, so surely there would be bits of metal, plastic and wires that would have needed moving before RoboCop could put his attachment on?

Mistake Continuity: RoboCop is fast enough to catch a bullet at the start of the film, yet he is not fast enough to avoid obviously coming attacks from a group or street thugs and some ninja robots throughout the film.
