Continuity: When the mayor turns up at the steelworks to speak to the boy about getting money, the limo has square headlights and white-walled tires. Cut to a few scenes later when Robocop 2 has already turned the limo over, the headlights are now circular and the tires are all black.

Robocop 2 (1990) - 41 mistakes
Directed by Irvin Kershner, starring Dan O'Herlihy, Nancy Allen, Peter Weller, Tom Noonan (add more)
Continuity: Watch the lights on the police car when RoboCop and Lewis are walking towards the baseball coach. They are on, but just after they start walking, they get turned off. After the baseball coach has been shot, they are on again.
Visible crew/equipment: When Dr. Faxx is programming the new directives into RoboCop, the camera pans around RoboCop's body. You can see the reflections of a camera and a crew member on RoboCop's helmet.
Continuity: Cain's eyes are brown for most of the film. They turn green when we see his eyes and brain in the glass tube, and again on the RoboCop 2 interface screen.
Revealing: Just before RoboCop gets out of the car to walk towards the baseball coach, Lewis shoots at the coach and he jumps back. Watch carefully. Whilst jumping, his hat comes off slightly and you can see the make-up for the hole in his head, which he doesn't receive for a few seconds after this. Seen best in Slow motion on the DVD.
Visible crew/equipment: When Robocop visits Cain's hideout and sends his car in as a decoy, after he returns to the car, watch the driving shot closely. A wire has magically strung itself across the entrance and attached itself to the back of the car - it wasn't visible from an earlier shot. As the car drives forward it stretches the horizontal wire, and just as a tiny amount of pressure is exerted, the car explodes. Yeah, it's technically a mistake, but I think it's more worth checking out just to see how those tricky effects are achieved.
Visible crew/equipment: When Kain and his gang are making their escape from the drug factory at the start, we can see a crew members hand very obviously poking out from behind the door frame, giving the actors their prompts when to go.
Audio problem: Near the end, just as Robocop2 has locked onto Robocop, Lewis holds up a container of nuke, she starts to say something, but the editor decided to cut that bit out and move on.
Continuity: When RoboCop is in the street with his new directives, he shouts "Back" at Lewis and puts his hand down to take his gun out. We can see his hand going down beside his leg and then coming up with a gun, but his hand was nowhere near his leg, and even though we hear the leg opening sound effect, the leg never moves. The same sort of mistake happens after RoboCop 2 destroys the Nuke hideout. RoboCop is investigating, and afterwards puts his gun away. The gun goes down to his leg, but the leg never opens, yet the sound effect is played. Sloppy camera work is responsible for both cases, it should have been higher up.
Revealing: When Lewis is shooting at RoboCop 2 she quickly runs as RoboCop 2 aims for her. He shoots at the car behind her, and if you look closely at the boot lid, you can see slight dents made by the crew so that they can make sparks come out of the boot when it is shot.
Continuity: When RoboCop gets out of his car in the scene where the baseball coach is firing at him, the building behind him is reflecting the sun and looks very bright. Less than 2 seconds later we see RoboCop walking towards the electrical shop and the building is very dull looking. Where did the sun go?
Continuity: When RoboCop is hanging on to Cain's truck, he is to the right of Cain, yet when the camera angle changes he is right in front of Cain. When Cain looks and smiles at RoboCop, just before swinging the van, he looks to his right even though RoboCop is supposed to be right in front of him now.
Deliberate "mistake": When Robocain tries to use his chaingun on Robocop and it isn't armed, he snatches the remote unit from the OCP psychiatrist. If you look carefully, the remote unit changes from real to animated as soon as he grabs it.
Deliberate "mistake": At the start of the film, RoboCop gets out of his car and shoots the guys who are robbing the gun store, and only one survives. When RoboCop goes to interrogate him, watch the bottom of the screen closely, Robo stands on the guys foot. A few moments later when Robo is lifting the guy up in the air, Robo has to stand back a bit, so he can get off the guy's foot and let him rise up.
Revealing: During several of the scenes, when people are shot; some of the impacts are accompanied by blood splatter, others just look like squibs that weren't filled with blood.
Continuity: When Robocop's car gets hit by the rocket at the start, it spins to a halt with all the doors closed. When we cut to the guy with the launcher, the car's in the background but the driver's door is now open.
Continuity: An arcade game is knocked over, then just seconds later it is standing again.
Revealing: When Robocop is on the bike, he does a skid. in the exact place where he does this, there is already skid marks from previous takes.
Revealing: When Robocop finds Hob shot and dying in the back of the truck there are close-ups of Hob lying on piles of the drug money. In one shot the $50 bill on the top of a stack of bills is lifted at the corner and you can see that the bill under it is blank paper.
Continuity: When RoboCop is being scraped up against the wall, we cut to views of Cain. If you look out of the window beside Cain you can see the sparks that RoboCop is supposed to be making, but there is no wall in sight, they are in the middle of the street.
Continuity: When RoboCop and RoboCop 2 burst out of the window at the top of the OCP Tower, you can hear someone say the word 'sh*t' as the two hang onto the ledge of the building. No-one else is up there.
Continuity: When RoboCop 2 is shooting everyone he shoots a news reporter and camera man on top of a van. When we see them just before they get shot, the reporter is talking into his microphone, but his mouth isn't moving.
Factual error: When RoboCop is at Cain's hideout, River Rouge, there is a sign with a phone number on the gate. The area code on the sign is "312" which is actually Chicago, instead of the proper "313" needed for Detroit.
Continuity: When "Robocop 2" goes beserk, he shoots several civilians and a row of OCP security. The last civilian to be hit in that scene is later seen being helped down a flight of stairs by two folks as the President of OCP talks with some of his subordinates about who to lay blame on for the incident.
Continuity: When RoboCop and Lewis go to deal with the baseball kids robbing the electrical store, they are shot at and Lewis spins the car round. We cut to a close up of the car and see Lewis get out, meanwhile RoboCop opens his door and puts his hand on top of the car, supposedly to get out. A few moments later he is still siting in the car, arms on his legs. So why did he put his hand up?
Continuity: When Robocop 2 is introduced and goes nuts at the press conference at the end of the movie, Robocop enters from the left of Robocop 2 with an rifle. Yet when Robocop starts firing the rifle, he aims to his right instead of his left...meaning that he is missing Robocop 2 by a mile and firing at blank space!
Revealing: When the mayor is sliding down the sewage drain, you can see some kind of a mat or something under him, probably to make him slide better.
Revealing: When Robocop removes the wire from his helmet, before he electrocutes himself, his right hand comes clean off his arm.
Visible crew/equipment: At the start of the film, RoboCop is in his police car, and it gets hit with a rocket and it flips over, and then slides to a stop. It is quite obvious that RoboCop is not in the front of the car, and that a silver plate has been placed in the driver's seat to make it look like he is.
Continuity: When RoboCop is at the Nuke hideout, he looks around the various artifacts that the gang have stolen. One of them is the skeleton of Elvis in a glass coffin. When we see the coffin from RoboCop's POV, (he is standing to the right of the coffin), there is a picture of the real Elvis to the left of Elvis's skull. When we cut to a wide shot of the room, RoboCop is still standing to the right of the coffin, but the picture beside Elvis's head has moved to the right hand side of Elvis's skull. A guitar which is sitting beside the coffin is pointing inwards during the Robo POV shots, but in the wide shots, is pointing outwards.
Revealing: When RoboCop is in the lab he pulls out a cord from his helmet. As he does so, the helmet moves quite significantly to the left, (his right). I thought it was supposed to be fixed on with bolts?
Revealing: The Mayor looks into the armoured van at the money, and picks up a gold bar. It looks bad, is obviously too light to be gold, and doesn't clink when put back.
Continuity: RoboCop overtakes Cain on his motorbike, and we see a shot from inside Cain's van. We can see that both of them are very close to the end of the street, and there are two small buildings on the right side of them. The width of those buildings are all the space that stands between them. RoboCop then builds up speed to about 60mph and charges towards Cain, passing several buildings on his right. There is no way RoboCop could have travelled that fast in that short a space, and there is no way he could have passed more than 2 buildings.
Continuity: After RoboCop slams into the pole, watch the ground at his feet carefully, you can see that one of his calf pistons have broken off. Just a few moments later when he is on the motorbike, both calf pistons are intact.
Continuity: When Cain drives very close to the pole to make RoboCop hit it, RoboCop gets slammed in the face and falls off the van. When the camera angle changes after the Robovision shot of RoboCop hitting the wall, RoboCop is not actually hanging onto the van. He is just attached to the pole and falls off it. The van is behind him and travelling in a right angle to RoboCop's body.
Continuity: RoboCop is being scraped up against a wall while hanging onto Cain's van. When he comes away from the wall there are no scrape marks on his back.
Visible crew/equipment: Watch very carefully when RoboCop shoots the man in the yellow shirt in the factory scene. The man falls down the stairs and just as he reaches the bottom, a pair of hands come out from the bottom of the screen to break his fall.
Revealing: Just before the reporter and cameraman are killed on top of the van, a woman is running away from the scene and is shot in the legs, and she falls to the ground. A man comes to pick her up and he gets shot in the back. If you look carefully, you can see the marks that the vest he is wearing make on his back, (which explodes under his clothes making it look like he was shot).
Continuity: When Caine's cronies throw the dismantled RoboCop out of the limo in front of the police station, take a look at the shot of the pile of parts. Both of his forearms are intact from the hand right up to the elbow. However, his right hand was blown off at the wrist just before he was "stripped".
Plot hole: It seems very strange that RoboCop 2's remote won't turn him off, but it will deactivate his weapons. Why is it able to do one and not the other?
Continuity: Robocain is able to penetrate the armored truck with cash in it killing the boy, yet, his chain gun does minimal damage to Robocop and none at all to the armored car Louis uses to pin him to the wall near the end. Is he firing armor-piercing rounds or not?
